further looks it looks like maybe just some glue separation. But I could not see this make the sub not move or anything when hooked up. I don't have anything to read the coils but I will go pick up something for that tommorrow, how would I do it just check one pair of coils at a time?

Does he need to get a battery isolator? I have heard many stress this but do not know if it is always needed or when it is? What are the pros/cons to battery isolator?
-
the "rip" doesn't seem to even go all the way through so I do not think it is responsible for the speaker not playing at all. The coils read? What should i use to get a reading? My other 15" works fine and I took the wires and plugged them into the non working one and nothing playing I just do not know why it is not playing.

I had double checked the speaker wires and I am almost positive they are all connected correctly. If I by some chance mixed them up wouldn't both speakers have the same ohm load then? After looking at my subs again when I turn them up one seems to be moving more than the other but the one that is not moving as much is the one that is getting very hot. I guess ill take the sub out and take a look at it then redo the speaker wire again just to make sure everything is ok.

How can I test an alternator?
TooLoud4You posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hi someone locally is selling a 300amp alternator for my car, which is a 2003 4.0L Explorer. I know the guy and he said he never used it because he just sold his explorer but he bought it from a place in cali. What should I be looking for to see if the alternator is legit? what tests can I do? Or should I just get a 240amp iraggi alternator? Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks!! -
if u wire them together in parallel it will come down to .5 but if you wire the subs in series then parallel you will have a 2ohm load.

hah same thing happened to me once. Was pumping down a busy road and stopped at a red light. A guy was trying to talk to me and I thought he was just gonna complain about my music, but he told me my license plate flew off about a few blocks back haha

Hi, is there any difference to building a box with one side being plexi glass? would it change tuning? Is there a special type of glass i need to use? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
-
If I were using the RE enclosure calculator, do I need to take into account the speakers displacement for the tuning? Should I tune about 1-2 hz below my desired tune hz? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know what a Kicker L7 would like the box tuned to? Thanks!
-
Thank you , that was what i was thinking of doing. So basicly what ever the RE calculator says it is tuned too it will slightly raise when I put in the subs correct?
-
I looked on the kicker website and it doesn't give a desired tuning just size. About how could could I draw up my own plans? I have normally just used the RE calculator but if I can do it myself I wouldn't use that website

Hi I'm making my box for 2 12" Fi SSDs and I can get my dimensions from the RE box calculator but how could I calculate a double baffle into it? I have been thinkin about it and I can not think of how I can calculate it and keep it at 4 cubes.
-
Hi is there a difference in the icons that had the blue dustcap writing, or are they the same specs? Also how does 2 12" icons vs 2 12" Fi ssds flatwind bp, match up? 4cf 33hz box with 2500rms. Any input would be appreciated.

Crunch GP3000d Pro vs US amps Xt4000
TooLoud4You replied to Wolfsblane's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have no experience with the US amp but my friend has a crunch 3000d on his 15" btl. It has been excellent and never given us a problem, plus he loved the price. Hope this helped you out a little. -

Now for some Kicker advice....
TooLoud4You replied to BigDaddy13440's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Kicker amps are excellent! I have never had a problem with them, I only wish they were 1 ohm stable but you can't have everything. You can still find the 750.1 cheaper online with a warranty. My 750.1 birthsheet was 874. -
Kicker zx2500 vs Sundown 3000d
TooLoud4You replied to AAHavoc15s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well since your final ohm load will be 2 ohm and you can't change it then go with the kicker. I am runnin an 08 Kicker zx2500.1 for 2 12" Fi SSDs and I love the amp, Kicker amps have never failed me. -
Hi and friend and I are going to recone his Fi BTL and we were wondering of some glues to use and where do you get it from? Thanks!
