Thanks for stopping by M5. I really wanna do this right the first time so Im gonna go with the 5.25s. I can find someone to help me fabricate if need be. What are youre thoughts on this set: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...5251&tp=106 If you can recommend some other sets also that would be great. Target price is 200.00, but if there's a set for like 250.00 that you know of that is far superior I could spend the extra 50.00 without a problem. From what ive heard in shops, I prefer silk/fabric tweeters to the metal ones if that helps...

Ok, Ive been lurking around here for about week now. Im in the planning phase right now, and Im already stuck/confused...not good this early in the process. Anyways, just need some input on how to get the most out of my budget. I dont have any experience in car audio or installation so bear with me. I llisten to mainly rock/alternative music with a little rap sprinkled in there. I have a 2003 GrandAm Sedan w/monsoon. My budget is around 700.00. Im planning on purchasing the JVC KD-Hdr1 HU and the harness which will be 200.00 total, leaving me with 500.00 for components/amp wiring kits/door deadeners (if budget allows)... I have some equipment that was given to me to get me started...an older rockford 250@2 amp and two rockford 12s in a box (not sure which ones they are, but probably the budget model) I guess my first question is about the components. I was thinking about going with these: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4193 Are these too small for a quality front stage? I would rather have 5.25s, but im worried about the fabrication (i live in an apartment, own no tools) that i would need to make to fit them in the door because the factory speakers are 4x6. With the 4" components, i can just get the adapter that crutchfield sells and drop the 4 inchers right into where the factory speakers were. Im planning on ditching the rear 6x9s and just running the comps and the subs. I need to purchase another amp also. Should I use the 250@2 on the subs and purchase an amp for the comps, or vice versa? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
