Cant wait to see some more info on those little guys. Probably have to order me up a couple I suppose.... lol. I hardly every try out new things, look what you're doing to me Aaron. My ICONS are supposed to be here tomorrow. haha -
I wonder what would be the reason people have for hating Fi? Products are great quality. Scott and the crew have a great reputation of not only making good products but also offering awesome customer service. I cant say I have ever even seen a thread bashing their customer service. Well.... except the occasional, "Scott, I emailed you 25 mins ago. Where are my woofers!"

My opinion... I use screws on all assemblies. Only time I use brads is for putting in 45's or the occasional "custom" part, that does not effect the structure of the enclosure. Like many have said, it is the glue that bonds the box together. However, you want the panels to be held together as tight as possible while the glue cures. What would create a tighter joint? A fastener that is pushing both panels in the same direction (brads) or a fastener that is pulling the panels together (screws)? The tighter the joint, the better the seal. Do I think brad nails make a crappy enclosure? No. But I feel screws make a better one. To me, the higher quality is worth the extra few minutes it takes me to use screws.

No I dont build boxes for a living. Would be nice.... But I just do this on the side. Makes for some really busy days at times. Thanks Denim

Its finally finished!
-
Well this beast is finally ready for carpet...
-
Probably pretty close. LOL. When it's all complete Ill try to find a way to weight it.
-
Pretty much complete with the build. Just need to add the second bottom panel. Then sand it all up, and add carpet. Should be a fun one to try to carpet....

Small update tonight. Got the bracing put in the second chamber, as well as the sides put in there as well. As far as whats going in it: 2 AQ HDC3 15's. Turbulence, we are hoping wont be a problem. The bracing was designed with large openings to minimize it. I use this style of bracing a lot (not quite to this extent however) and I have never had any complaints of audible turbulence.

Saturday--- Finally got some help today and got the second outside flare assembled. From here, it should go pretty smoothly. Next, Ill do the inner flare and bracing on this side, to make it look like the other. Then, its just a little more assembly, paint, and carpet. Tonight--- Tonight, I got the second inner flare put in, as well as all the bracing cut. Should go together pretty quick now...
-
Here it is complete.
-
Yep, CNC.

Welp, got the plexi done today. It was really tough deciding exactly what to do with it, because of the positioning of the FI in the bracing. I didnt want it to appear crowded or anything, so I kept it simple, just doing the FC logo in the corner. After seeing it finished, I really wish we could have gone crazy with the CNC and done Fisher Customs with the entire logo and everything. I just didnt think it would look that great on this box... But anyways, I like how it turned out, and I really hope someone will be interested in doing some more CNC work in the future on a box... Heres the pics....

Thanks denim! Got a little more done tonight. They guy that was gonna give me an extra pair of hands for the other flair wasnt able to make it tonight. So hopefully tomorrow, I can get that part knocked out. Then it should go together pretty quickly...
-
Its nice seeing a response from the ole' Admin. Ill def keep the pics coming... Thanks for the compliments guys...
-
Didnt get a whole lot done tonight. Got the inner flare put in on one side, Then got all the bracing cut for one side, that took FOREVER...
-
Thanks again guys
-
Thanks man. Of course, we hope no problems will arise from it. But I do not have any experience with something like this, so I guess we are going to have to wait until we get it into the real world environment. Its actually pretty strong though, so Im not too worried, but you never know...
-
Thanks guys! Hopefully it will get completed soon....
-
Its going to be top mounting. So the subs mags will sit right above the cut outs in the bracing.

Things went together really nice. There are some small gaps in the end of the flare, but on a full size panel, shouldnt be a problem to get it completely tight. Just didnt really wanna spend much time on it today, because it was just really a dry run. All in all, I'm very pleased the way everything went together. As soon as the Fi box is complete, Ill get on this full force. Shouldnt take too long to get it all finished up.
