I would love to show pics..it's going to completely change the market for PTS so there will be a Patent number before the release
-
I'll answer them in order... to long yes..if the room allows it Corpus Christy Texas I use a combination of software and math a local whole saler and I have been building enclosures since 1985 ...full time at the moment and will be opening a new Car Audio Shop soon also working on 4 Patents so I can release my new designs

I hit 144db @ 40hz on a TL at the last comp and got nothing...

I got a phone call this morning from Garry (owner of the 2003 Dodge Quad Cab the Icons are in) he said the Icons are the best sounding subs he has had so far...the low end is very strong

it's actually box liner spray...this is my buddies work truck so I installed them in a way that he could still pile all his crap back there with out the worry of damaging a woofer or scratching any paint the enclosure design works really well..we had to stop the rear slider from trying to break itself and my X Large Tim Hortons coffee was bouncing a little on the dash...when it is done the V will be about 6" away from the back wall and the amps (two JBL 75.2 and one Crown BPX 500.1) will be flush mounted and the rear wall will be reflective to show the subs the head unit is a Premier 880...the components are 1 set of JBL 608GTI and a pair of 508GTI

really........ LOWWWWW hitting subs....... they need some breaking in to get the cone movement going but really low
-
I'll have some better install pics after the amp racks and back wall are finished

oh...soo its basically a port designed for spl.....thanks..i think i will want to do this for my 2 bls since internal volume is barely hitting the recommendations ..but thanks much. a short port doesn't neccessarly mean it's an SPL set up....if the room allows most will go for more port area and in Steves case he probably wanted to stay below the seat line in order to stay out of the wall class and still have room for the four 18" BTL's,amps and his kids.....

I'm jelous of your shop to.....if you seen where I build my stuff you'd be shocked all is going to change soon though
-
I have a line up of orders pre paid at the moment so time is an issue for me there are others on this site that are more than willing to help with your situation

a shorter port means less port area..this reduces the damping factor and raises port velosity but it also saves space..... in an install like Steves (23,000w rms) SQ really isn't a factor..there is no such thing as SQ at those power levels..you just hold on for your life and hope the notes stop so you can breath the graph response would look the same..the difference would be the port velosity (percentage of Mach)

I can build an enclosure to maximize the woofer or woofers... what kind of woofer/woofers and how much power do you plan on using?
