best 1500 rms amp for the money
Thumpper replied to loondizie52's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
or you could find a used JBL/Crown BPX 1100.1 or even a 2200.1 on e bay the SQ and low note digging from these amps will rip a new A hole in all the choices listed above and the 1100.1 usually bench tests around 1400w rms I have seen both amps on e bay for cheep -
SSA TRADE UP PROGRAM feeler
Thumpper replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
personally I think it's a bad Idea.... trade in programs usually cost the company money in the end -
I like Boobies they are almost as fun as my four 15's ..................................................................

Thumpper replied to Earsplitter's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have used a few bottles of this stuff....works very well http://www.prosoundservice.com/m9_view_ite...D-RECONEGLUE8OZ -
I would definately go with the Xcon.....I'm running four 15" and there is not a single boomy note from them at all...the note overlap is almost non existant and they hit like jack hammers
-
can't untill the electrical upgrades are done....the amp is not getting the 400+ amps of current it needs....it shuts down when I try and roll a burp
-
really digging these subs I seriously think these Xcons are really comparable to the differential drive JBL Wgti subs for tightness and accuracey.....they just hit 4X harder....LOL it will probably take a few weeks to break them in.....the low notes are JUST starting to come out , I'll have to wait till they are broken in and I complete the electrical upgrades before I do any TL numbers
-
I bet that roll of tape got at least 16" of height a few times..LOL I'll take an excursion vid tomorrow when I do my coffee run.....just rediculous the cone movement of these things
-
a quick vid at the mall this morning..........
-
I was drinking my coffee at the local install shop when I noticed this 10" woofer install in a Ford F150 this is with out a shadow of a doubt the worst sub install I have EVER seen if you can top it show the pics...LOL..
-
I didn't know you were a part of this project. What did you do? i bet it was fun working on it hey? he smoked a bunch of ciggars and drank a few King Cans.......................
-
I'll make a vid once I make some ground on the sound deadening...I did some 10hz to 25hz tones earlier.....WHOLLY!! don't have any more time for my project untill I catch up on customer builds

Worst sub install candidate of the year
Thumpper replied to Thumpper's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
no enclosure.....he ripped all the foam out of the seat and used ripped 2 x 4's to hold it in place.....unreal the quality some people put into their work...LOL it is basically running free air with out any seperation between the front and back of the woofer....he might as well hang it from his rear veiw mirror -
all I can say is DAMN........I'm not to depressed that I gave up my 10" Icons anymore for 15" woofers they are really tight.. hit very very hard
-
I did make a vid but the hatchback was making a god awfull sound.....I had to Dynamat it and stuff it with insulation.....I also have to double layer the roof just sickening the tightness and impact of these things
-
I finally got to listen to these today................. OMFG........................................... will have a better opinion in a few days after some break in but WHOLLY *&^%!!!
-
happy B Day...................
-
good reveiw.................I should have my Quad 15" Xcons going by next weekend
-
I have not even put in the new shocks with adjustable over load coils yet and it's taking the weight very well....the MPG will most likley go down hill......hair tricks will improve....vission will blurr whaaaa................life is rough
-
everything is installed except for the power/grounds and doors......... this is hoe I'll be running it untill I am able to get the enclosure in for vinyl and the amp rack covers and tweeter pods for the pillars are still to come doesn't look to bad for being primer........ it took a whole 250ft roll of 12 gage to complete the runs to the doors and pillars.. ran out of Zip Clips...... ....the rest will have to wait till next weekend.......................... I have to go build Glens enclosure now..... ...
-
not worried...that is the port wall....the A3000 goes on the other side and it is braced to death
-
that is not paint fyi....it is just primer did a test with the amplification and x-overs for the JBL 660 GTI components in the doors the amp rack cover will clean things up nicely..... I replaced the Soundstream Powerplant and upgraded to two Tsunami digital fuse blocks so there will be a digital display on the amp rack for Voltage
-
a little coat of primer to show off the flaws....this thing should be finished tonight (except for the amp rack covers) it will be going in for upholstery to match the door skins once my number comes up so I'll be testing it out as is for a couple of weeks

a thought just came to me...I'm Canadian to welcome to the forum...LOL
