I would try tuning them at around 38-40hz with a 2.25cf3 common chamber

I grabbed one of those hanging flower pots and was going to rip it down... the wire strap broke and whipped back slapping me in the back of the hand and cut about 3/4" deep right between my knuckles (almost right thru my hand) got 4 stitches out of the deal......wasn't much blood but it was a good meat shot...LOL

I burped a 147 with my subs brand new out of the box and run down batteries with an amp that was shutting down from voltage drop......I gained at least 3db over the last couple weeks of break in and I still have the Electrical to deal with my system is tuned for a flat response.... I want my system to wow people with tightness and detail VS numbers

not much progress...I have the head liner out and will be working on the sound deadening when I get the time..I am running a single pair of the 660's and moving the tweeters around on the pillars..I'll be making the pillar pods once I get the imaging I want..I alo have somewhat of a template for the rear amp rack cover..nothing pic worthy at the moment

I wonder how 4 of those babies would do off of a Crown BPX 2200.1 set up as midbass....LOL
-
not a problem..... these Xcons are friggin insane BTW...I have a brace from the floor to the roof between the 2nd row seats untill the B-Quiet shows up this is what it's like listening to Heavy Metal now...... supprizingly I'm thinking these things are much tighter on the speed drums than my 10" Icons were there is nothing muddy or sloppy about them in the slightest

I am in the same boat....my wife does listen to my system and she knows my hobby brings the bacon to the table so I am some what safe my 9 year old daughter is really into it to....she knows how to operate Termpak and she knows my do's and do not's in enclosure construction...LOL
-
it will work..the port noise may or may not appear..........but it will no doubt out perform a prefab
-
just bought 2 FI BLs to go in this box.now i need I hope you do realize this enclosure was designed and tuned for Dcons.... the port velocity will be alot bit higher with the BL's excursion and the tuning will be off

I'm running my Xcon 15" with 3.50cf3 per sub at the moment...it does seem a little on the small side but wholly crap the bass guitar strings are elastic band tight I listen to alot of metal and these subs really deliver.....

it was driving me nuts as well...I'm back to the old skin

CA Glue for recone... but whay kinda ca glue?
Thumpper replied to Earsplitter's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have used the CA glue with the activator in the past along with a few others but when the results are the same in the end at 1/2 the price I'll stick with the Prosound product they all work..it's just personall preference -
I like the badge surface for the Logo.....

CA Glue for recone... but whay kinda ca glue?
Thumpper replied to Earsplitter's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
you know what i noticed about this.. it says rubber adheasive.. no were does it say CA , and there is no activator for it .. i dunno if it would do the job.. maybe for surrounds and dust caps.. I used this stuff on some custom 10" Icons and was able to pull a 143.6db @ 10hz with out any problems in fact I pushed enough power to the subs to tear them apart and the glue never even showed the slightest sign of letting go at all -
the first few times I purchased B Quiet I ordered it on line from the USA...I never knew it was a canadian product till about 8 months ago... I have never seen any problem with any seeping on the seems or anyhting..my Tempo was done up with this stuff over a year ago and the stuff is really on there...no sagging or dripping or sliding in any way....I tried to peel some out yesterday (not a chance in hell) personal experience shows me the product works..it stays on when applied and it does what it was intended to do there will always be someone who knocks it though (usually because of word of mouth and not actuall experience using the stuff) this thread is not a debate or poll anymore.....it's a buy this cause my buddy done it right and he knows his stuff.....
-
I have used B Quiet on about 7 or 8 installs in the past year and the stuff works well ,I have had no problems in any way with the product plus they are only a Province away , the shipping is cheep and they give me good deals
-
I thought Dynamat was garbage...messy to work with and it comes off out of all the deadener I used the B Quiet was the mose cost efficient and easiest to use......I'll be putting 300sq2 ft in the Ground Pounder

Plexi and Lexan enclosures are not as acoustically dead as a good solid MDF enclosure...I have built several but price VS performance I would rather spend money on other things if not assembled right the Lexan/Plexi enclosures with large pannels sound absolutley AWFULL

glad to see you and Mike are able to do buisiness.....good guy and he uses really good quality vinyl

Great..... now I got a nut spun to get the wife a push up bra and see what those DD's look like with a bit of clevage squish.........................................

own it in what way.... I have played with both subs and the Xcon SQ wipes the floor with the LVL 4...the Xcon is much more musical
