**** $50 off PTS Enclosure with the purchase of a PTS/SSA Combo ( Icons and Xcons ) **** Canadian Customers Only
-
I think a 12" would be fine in a sedan.....the 15" would not have enough room to unload properly in a small trunk
-
got a new sub : a 15" Xcon

Thumpper replied to Thumpper's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
not much to show... the latches are already replaced $35 from an auto wrecker and $20 for a mirror ...I'll have more vids from the Western Canadian Finals on Aug 23 in Penticton BC (or bring a camera and make your own vids) my only problem now is finding a use for the rear window switches in the drivers door -
thanx guys I have have not had the time to complete the install on time but it's fully functional and will be at Okanogan Thunder 2009 (Western Canadian Finals) in Penticton BC on August 23.....this is going to be a HUGE comp...well over 300 cars expected DB Drag , IDBL and IASCA SQI / SQC classes
-
4.0cf3 tuned at 31hz
-
he will be doing all the vinyl work on all my future custom installs...... SSA will get the same respect as JBL when the sub enclosure is covered

I can't beleive the sound of these 660gti's with 1160w rms on them the Tsunami Katana Series RCA's and 12 gage twisty were a nice upgrade to....a huge difference just rediculous......

I play with my X over settings with the change in music......I like a higher setting of 100hz with some heavy metal because it brings out some of the upper freq in the speed drums and makes them hit alot harder but most of the time I'm in the 65hz or 80hz setting the power handling drops with a higher x over setting
-
the set up is so far past rediculous it isn't even funny...the whole side of the van looks like a water fall with all the flex... it stays with in 1/2 db from 28hz up to 42hz (a very very flat response) the 3.50cf3 would be minimal enclosure size for the 15" IMO..I'll be going to 5.0cf3 per sub next
-
it makes me sick to my stomach watching the hipocrits in the media act all depressed after capitalizing on all the molestation accusations... if there was even the smallest shread of evidence he would have spent his last years in jail he was the best at what he did before and after all the crap...no one will ever top what he did for the music industry..I have been a fan of his music since the mid 1970's..he has my respect rest in peace MJ
-
good to hear....
-
my enclosure is a little on the small side and tuned flat...it isn't very mic friendly and it peaks out to high I'll be making a new enclosure with 10cf3 per chamber vs the 7.0cf3 I am running now but it will be more of a wall configuration...I am above the window line as it is anyways
-
so I got my 15" Xcons installed and enough play time for a bit of break in.. first thing I gotta say is they are really tight and accurate.. I was expecting a bit of boomy ness (like most 15's) but I was supprized with almost no note over lap and really clean sounding speed drums that IMO are less muddy than the 10" Icons were..I found a new appreciation with all my favorite metal (Judas Preist,Motley Crue,Megadeath exc...) the tight bass guitar riffs and kick drums slip in and out flawlessly regardless of volume level and the note seperation is distinctive by tone...a very musical characteristic the power handling is excellent also.....I was able to shread every woofer I had on this amp untill now....the only problem now is how hard I want it to pound
-
they must like 41hz ........that's the freq my Xcons peak at
-
Four 10" Icon enclosure (termlab Video...143.6 @ 10hz)
Thumpper replied to Thumpper's topic in Pound That Sound
those Icon 10's are an insane low end woofer.... -
the subs the power the enclosure
-
the Xcons sound much better musically at high volume levels than the BTL's (by a long shot) it's hard to say the BTL's will burp louder...the specs say so but the in car performance speaks differently personally I would take the SQ of the Xcon
-
these subs combined with the Crown power are just friggin un beleivable the sound quality of them is really starting to come out
