...the side of the vehicle looks like a water fall as it flexes ....you swear to god there is enough body flex to cause metal fatigue and you think your dash is going to fall off ....the rear veiw mirror busts off and shatteres when it bounced on the emergency brake lever ....the electric automatic latches on the rear windows brake trying to hold the windows shut and have to be replaced with manual ones .....the over head center console falls off and hits you in the head ...the Mayor of Salmon Arm BC politley asked you to turn it the fawwwk down when you drive by his house ...the local audio shop is getting complaints about the " white van" ...LMAO ....your system can be heard clear across town from the time it is turned on till you turn it off and friends call you Remax because all your neighbours want to move -

it was really intense....... I'v been bassless for about a month now...since the competition my amp decided to take a nap as soon as I showed up at the comp..it was a real bummer I couldn't demo it at all... I hope to have the amp back in a week or two...fingers crossed -
the Kicker box has a black coating..non automotive hope that helps...LOL
-
I add the proper displacement to the enclosure to aquier for the bracing so it has no effect on tuning..I do have a formula for the port length..it changes with each port flare radius

Ok all you electrical engineers and physicists, and other know-it-alls how does THIS work ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNDpcrjnAT4 -
you do not need sealed to produce good lows...a well designed ported application can produce sickening bottom end so far out of all the woofers I have played with the Icons have the best low end and flattest response I wouldn't hesitate to use one in my home theater system ( BING!!! future project..LOL) when I say a flat response I mean FLAT..143.6db @ 10hz and 145db @ 27hz down to 143.3db @ 35hz all measurements taken with a termlab on the dash dooes sealed with four Icon 10" ported
-
running the same woofers in different enclosures is not recommended you will end up with really muddy sounding bass
-
the woofer enclosure and amp racks are getting an over haul once I catch up with things..... this build is not over........................................................yet
-
I listen to alot of retro , rock , pop and metal and I tune my systems to levetate the vehicle at 10hz with enough force to knock stuff off shelves in the house across the street..it just takes the right enclosure .a conventional woofer is so un efficient below 8hz..if you want the really low 8hz and down use low freq fan anything 8hz and down on a conventional woofer us usually amplified flutter I have experienced a true 1hz with a fan..I wish I could duplicate that in a car
-
sorry...no blue prints
-
nice roof flex...LOL

-
the enclosure determines the performance of the woofer... contact me at [email protected] and we can come up with something that performs the way you expect it to

I think Tommie has a pic of it in the truck.... I played with a few sizes of 45" plates in the top corner above the port......
-
I got a couple pics around here somewhere.... I was kinda bummed out after my A3000gti decided to have a nap just as I got to the comp.... ( it is now being repaired ) so I never took any pics.....I watched Tommie's runs and took off back home guess I wasn't meant to compete this year....to bad to cause I would have taken 3rd in the wall class and there were no other low tuned ground pounders there at all
-
unfortunately I do not sell designs...just completed enclosures and subs
-
LOL.... for a single 12" in a Xcab it does very well....but the SS 1-2 NW class has a few high hitters (155db plus) it will earn respect with the numbers..... next year you can even the playing feild and go to two woofers

I'll be in Penticton BC at the Canadian Finals "Okanogan Thunder 2009" on Aug 23 giving Demo's of the Xcons ...it's gonna be a big comp with over 300 cars and there is alot of clean Beach access in the area...should be a fun day hope to see a few of you guys there
-
I'm throwing a blanket over this sucker untill the Qualifying round in Penticton.... all I'm gonna say is this one is not tuned low .....
-
well I made a wacked prototype SPL box for this sub and all I can say is DAMN!!!!!!WHOLLY $S%^$&*(***^&^%^%%$$ I can not show any pics of the enclosure untill the comp but this sub will be in efxtruck 's Chevy Xcab in Penticton BC on Aug 23 at the Canadian Western Finals hope to see some of you there

when inverting a sub you may hear the motor structure slightly.... sort of a twanging noise but it will go away a bit with break in the inverted sub does loose a bit of SQ to
