it is intense.....2 hours of reading/book work each night too we start cutting cupons and bending them in friday.... I have done LOTS of X Ray welds in the past when I was building BC Goverment Highway Bridges
-
this is welded in the flat rolled 1G position....I spin the pipe as I weld it overhead welding is not really that dificult with the right rod.... surface tension holds the puddle in place long enought to solidify

I have tried alot of different weight gain protein/vitamin combinations and I just found one that works freaky well (at least for me)....I am on the 4th bucket of protein and the 4th bottle of vitamins..... I started out as a skinny bonerack under 170 lbs when I got out of the hospital and I am up to almost 200 pounds and it all came on as muscle tone..very impressed

I am also a welder/fabricator.....I start the level B on tuesday for 4 months and 6 weeks preasure testing for Natural Gas pipeline........ -
I have had both subs in my install and built several enclosures for each the W7 and Xcon are two totally different subs..... the Xcon will take way more power and hits a bit harder.. the W7 is smoother sounding and can peak at a much lower frequency than the Xcon for abuse and hard hitting I give it to the Xcon but for SQ I would give it to the W7 ..personally I use the Xcon because of the bonus power handling and impact

MP3s, how and why they affect our systems, and system choices
Thumpper replied to sandt38's topic in Technical Info & How To's
the amplifier has nothing to do with the quality of a recording.. but...all amplifiers are NOT created equal...I have heard some well built class D that sound better than some poorly built class A/B..and I have heard some class A/B that eat even the best class D BTW... I am half deaf with tenitus and I can tell the difference on the first note between a good and crap amp but that's a totally different topic...LOL -

I play very few MP3 recordings in my system....most MP3 files sound really tinny ,hollow or metallic with very limited detail difference between some instruments..I find alot of MP3's really hard to listen to at the same time I do get the odd store bought CD that sounds like it was recorded in someones a spare bedroom..... -

Playing a Few Hz below Box tuning really bad?

remember the octive slope( 6db,12db,18db or 24db) on the SSF varies on different amps.. if you need the protection of a SSF you don't need to set it any higher than the 20 to 22hz range to eliminate the high excursion notes personally a SSF always gets in my way of nice deep ripps right down to 10hz and head bopping bass guitar strings.. -
one of the installs I have worked on has a pair of 15" Xcons running off of 6500w rms daily... take in mind the gains are set correctly, the amp is getting enough juice and the box is bang on I would not recommend this to every Joe on the street ..the operator has to know when enough is enough ( most don"t ).....I would recommend running a pair of Xcons for warranty and pocketbook purposes the only sub I have ever used that can take 3KW all day long is the Orion HCCA ...I could not blow that thing with my big JBL/Crown gti amp...pulled a 147db with a single 12" in a chevy xcab...LOL
