LOL, ok so a customer walks into my store today and wants to get a box built. Well the builder is out for the week. But just out of interest i wanted to know what he had and he says Konaki. Never heard of it let me go look. So i'm expecting like walmart quality stuff. He says he got it in houston, which is where most of the people from around here go to pick up "cheap" car stereo stuff. So i look in and there are 2 12s in boxes. so i try to pick up a box and i was barely able to pick it up. Crazy heavy and dual 1 ohm. Speaker says 2400w Max and 1200Wrms. http://konaki.com/12.html managed to find a website. the model # was KO12-1207A Just thought it intersting and figured i'd post about it.

No its not a big deal man. I don't blame U. Just the UPS. But yeah i got the stickers and shirt right away. Wore them to work. And put the stickers on the car immediately after tinting it. Of course they were sent by the USPS. Maybe thats why they were on time. Oh and the shirt shrank. So i'm probably gonna have to order another one. Sorry for stealing the thread btw. I think the build is awesome.

I ended up going with 2 SSA Icon 10s. And going to promote the store with teh rest of the stuff. UPS has screwed up shipping once again tho. So i have to wait until Jan 23rd. LOL

So here is what i am currently looking at. haven't bought the amp yet but i probably will unless someone has a better idea. Planet Audio RXD2400 I'm open to suggestion on the amp as well. I drive a honda Fit. and i am putting a system in it. I have been living off of the philosophy less is more for quite sometime. But now i've decided to change things up a little. Being that i work in the car audio industry as a salesman i need a good system. One that sounds good because i listen to all types of music. and one thats loud because well if your sh**s not loud then for some reason you don't get any respect. So my goal is to get 1 10" sub and blow away these guys who think that having multiple 12s or 15s is neccessary. I've seen it done with 2 10s and 3000watts. These were atomic 10s in a custom ported box in a chevy silverado single cab. Anyway, so i'm looking to get 1 10 or if i have to 1 12 that will sound good when i'm in the car and when i have friends along, and that the fiance won't complain about. But if i wanted to compete or just show off or show up someone i could. So i've been looking around for awhile. That lead me to Fi.... I'm looking at the Fi BL 10 with some options and i must say i don't quite understand them all so if the flatwound voice coil could be explaind that would be great. If u don't suggest the BL or Fi for that matter any suggestions would be appreciated. If i wanted to stick with the stuff that my store sells i'd either get the Alpine type x 12 or a pioneer premier 3004. If u think that those would be good choices let me know, but if theres better then let me know that too. Also i was thinking ported even tho i know the sealed will probably sound better, my last 3 setups have been ported and i really liked them. albeit they were in a trunk of a car not in a hatch back. LOL yeah. It looked promising. I wonder what it could do with a Icon or Fi BL recone. Hmm now ist got me wondering if i shouldn't take a trip out to whereever this guy got them just to blow them up so that i can recone them. Cuz damn that motor was badass

We sell the IVA-W205 for about $850. Which is cheaper than the Pioneer D3. But it doesn't have navigation unless you buy the blackbird. It also doesn't have Bluetooth unless you buy the Blackbird. Those were my only two complaints. But i might just end up getting the W205 anyway. I've never owned an Alpine and figure its a good place to start. We also have the tuning EQ in the store to tune the radio to make it sound the best.

what do you think about that IVA-W205? Like any likes dislikes? why did you choose it? What else were you considering?

kk, so what does the sub take up? lol :edit: i found it .12 cubic feet so that would mean that a box with 1.37 cubic feet per woofer would be perfect. with a slot port? tuned something like 33 hz.?

1.25 is optimal the box is actually 1.21 per sub when considering displacements is that 1.25 before or after the subs been installed? like make it 1.25 with no sub and its perfect or make it higher than that so that its 1.25 once the sub is in it??

db link, had a flat 1/0 about a year ago. Been looking for it ever since. Now that Stinger is going to have this i might just go ahead and get this to have in the ride. Since i'm about to wire up my new car for the first time. I'll go 3/0 and won't have to worry about upgrading pretty much ever lol.

So is it worth it to get an eclipse headunit just for the 8v preouts, when i like the look of other radios? or just buy a line driver? Just couldn't think of anything else to BS about BTW 12008

Man i can't wait for those subs to come in. All i do is think about boxes all day when i'm at work drawing up new designs. And then scratching it cuz i want sealed instead of ported. And then vice versa.
