I really like this review. While i don't plan to buy any ultras anytime soon its nice to see a thorough review like this. And all the input from ///M5 (sorry i think i knew your name but i forgot it) is just awesome. This is why i like this forum so much. I do plan on upgrading my front stage soon. But waiting on Nick to put out the IA comps. Then we'll see what happens. But for right now i've stepped away from active it was just too much for me. But i can really appreciate the work you're putting into the review here. It helps me to learn alot more about the active side of things.

I've been wondering if the Warden had been dropped or not. I'm really looking forward to the Narcs hehe

ICONS, DCONS, DCONS, ICONS (new dust cap product photos)
bigtoepfer replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Those dustcaps look awesome. I'd imagine the Xcons will look amazing too. -
Hells yeah. I was hoping it would still happen eventually. Now if i could just get my hands on a set of those components. hehehe

I'd like to do 1 DP21 in my hatch. But i don't think i could turn my car into a 4door 2 seater permanently. I haul too much every now and then. Looks good tho man.

car losing power with volume all the way up
bigtoepfer replied to ChiTownTBird312's topic in General Audio
Sounds to me like you're just trolling. Your descriptions get worse and worse. I know that amp will pull all 100amp all day. Because its killing my electrical. So it doesn't really suprise me. But that amp doesn't have enough power for those subs to begin with. He needs a differnt amp. -
i couldn't even get the reciever i want for $600

So we had a USACi crank it up at the shop on sat. And just for chits n giggles i hooked up the IA DR18 to at PDX1000. The DR18 in question actually has a blown coil and the recones came in today so i'll be reconing it soon. I just wanted to see what it could do with that 1 coil on the TL mic under the dash, managed a 145.9. I was pleased. And thats with no battery in the back. Amp went into protection half way thru the run. So once i put a battery in the back and get the woofer reconed then we'll see what these beasts are really capable of. edit: This was in my honda fit btw. I don't know the specs on the box. I know it was pretty much thrown together. Its pretty peaky in the 45-50hz range

Actually I've been a Authorized dealer in Lafayette, LA since August '08 =D

well i wasn't going to run 2 DP21s. Now that i'm looking at it. I might not be able to get that big. Because i have like a 70amp alt. and the car limits alt output at 100amps. So I'm worried that even with 2 yellow tops i'm not going to have enought juice to run an amp big enough for the two DP12s
-
I was wondering if you guys though a DP21 would be logical for a daily sub for all types of music. I'm thinking either that or maybe 2 DP12s I'm not sure yet. I'd like to get REDICULOUSLY loud, like 150s + where i don't want to be in the car. But also be able to turn down the sub and use it for regular music too. what u guys think?

LMAO thanks yeah true. I'm fixing to buy a new Double din head unit and a 3sixty.2 from fosgate. I am the manager of a stereo shop and a we sale IA. I'm trying to get more of it on the street. Thats why i want to put the DPs in so i can really show people what its all about. I've put 2 DP21s in a Suburban. I'm just wondering how it would be in my little hatch. If i go with the 12s i know i can do a hella pimp build. Just have to decide on an amp.

I don't recommend those kicker tweeters. They are too harsh being its a metal dome tweeter IIRC. I have the kicker RS tweeters which have the textile dome much like the seas listed earlier. And they sound phenomenal. just my .02 cents edit: i'll also be replacing my midbasses with the mach5s soon as well. And i think its going to blend really well

Need a few Amp Options
bigtoepfer replied to kmarks24's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
before you consider upgrading amps i'd consider trying to get the voltage up because you will just start killing other amps. -
LMAO. I was talking to him on aim. And aside from a possible size diffence that is pretty much exactly the same box i suggested

Wiring my icon to my 1000D
bigtoepfer replied to Juslivin's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
it would be a waste of wire to do that. Its easier to just run the jumpers from each voice coil to another -
Massive Audio
bigtoepfer replied to anarchyaudio's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
quality pieces. The woofers are nice and sound good. The only amp i've had personal experience with is the big 3kw. That thing was a beast. I always wanted to play with the blade amps tho. -
LOL. i thought this was going to be something bad. Looking forward to some good stuff.

2002 Caddy on bagz...8 Fi BTL 18's, 2 RF T15k amps (new vid pg 31)
bigtoepfer replied to meade916's topic in General Fi
So its been a few pages since i've commented. Those L.E.D.s DAYUM. I had been wondering what you were gonna do with the back of the console. The HIDs nice touch. I don't prefer the purple but i'm sure it looks awesome. Also i was wondering about the computer. Does it have a solid state harddrive or a conventional one. J/W. As usual amazing work steve. Hopefully one day i'll get to come up and see it or just shake your hand. -
honestly it won't matter if you get dual 2 or 1 either one will work in series. But its better to get the dual 2 that way if you decide to buy a better amp later you can parallel it down to 1ohm. Either of those speakers is going to knock in the accord. But there might be other brands to consider if you are trying to save space. If you don't mind dedicating your trunk to subwoofer then i'd go with the fi
