Got back yesterday from three days on the road in the field. The first day went fine, felt good after that one. But then the second day was a bummer. landowner had pushed around dirt so we couldn't get to where we wanted to sample, so we had to improvise and take fairly non-representative samples. Then one sample that should have taken 20 minutes took an hour and 40 minutes because of a 50-foot down-hole problem. So we're already two hours over my scheduled time for the site and I go to Dillons to ship my samples to the lab. Only their printer for the shipping label breaks, and I stand there for......wait for it.......45 minutes, as they try to fix it. That is a long time to be standing at the customer service counter in a grocery store. And even at the end they said you can just go and we'll let you know when we get this figured out and ship it for you. Yeah, you better. Then the groundwater at our site yesterday was just dumbfounding. It was so erratic and made no sense. Ended up taking an extra 2-3 hours at that site. But now I can relax. I have today off, so I get a 4 day weekend.

Just make sure the new box size will be able to fit into the trunk opening. That's almost always the limiting factor, not the actual space available in the trunk. It looked similar to how yours is sitting, and I had my amps mounted on the back (towards the rear bumper, sub was firing forward) and could still fit my golf clubs. However, that was the largest box I could fit in the opening.

Are you sure you will even increase power going with two? If the impedance to your one amp is optimized with the two subs, it won't be when you do one amp per sub.
