    Welcome to the IHoP

Yeah there are a bunch with nitrous and all these upgrades to get it to 800hp. I don't really want that. Just something basic, with perhaps a few basic upgrades to get it to 400hp or so. It wouldn't take that much to get that little car moving. Though I'd need to sit in one to see if I would fit comfortably. Having been around a few in the past, I would suggest aiming for a totally stock one. Just too many with people pushing them really hard. Unless you find a tweaked one and find a stock motor somewhere, but that is a slim chance. So these things really get beat to crap when modded out so heavily, huh? I can see that. Thanks for the tip.

My brother thought pretty hard about a Stealth at the end of high school. The insurance was just too much. It seems like those things have reliability issues, though, am I wrong? Though I think the VR4s are the sweetest of the Stealth/3000GT lot as well.

Stupid Progressive website. I'm trying to get a quote for one but it either gets me through all the vehicle info steps and then tells me to contact my local agent or it has some error and crashes Firefox.

Yeah I'm not real big on that style of wing they put on there. I'd probably just take it off. You don't like the interior? That's pretty much how all Supras look inside.

But it's funny that they have probably $60,000 in it and put sony explod subs in it.

Ohhh, there is a 1997 NA only 200 miles from me. and a '90 T in Denver. Both at or under 10k

they sell for SO cheep now it's insane. I think the are a value when looking at other comparable small SUV's considering the luxury you get. But you're right I would garage it any way I could, but If I do end up with a turbo cayenne, it will be driven in the winter. I doubt that if I had purchased that 996 that I would have left it in the garage all winter. I don't really like the idea of having a car I am unwilling to drive in the winter. I would have avoided salt at all costs and snow, but cars are meant to be driven. I don't give a crap if it's a Porsche or a bently or a classic anything else. Well this was probably 3-4 years ago when I first drove by there and saw it (last time I drove by and saw it there was a few months ago). So I imagine it wasn't too old and still relatively expensive back then.

I don't like runny anything usually, but on occasion I will enjoy some over easy. Though this morning we had scrambled with cheddar. My ex-gf thought I was weird and maybe stupid for putting cheese on eggs. She just doesn't know.

There's a guy that lives at one of my old apartment complexes who has a Porsche Cayanne. I don't really understand it, because these apartments are just very average and he has it in a car port with three open sides, not a garage!

  15. It is the amplifier's ability to control the cone movement of the speaker, such as starting and stopping. More technically it's the ratio between load impedance and source impedance of the amp. Really it isn't all that important and you probably couldn't tell a difference between any number. There's basically no difference above 50, and really not much even above 20.

a little problem with my subs

Cancellation, that's probably it. A little cancellation goes a long way. There's a reason you don't see anybody with their subs and ports 180* from each other, and why people on here would advise you not to do it. BTW, this contrasts to your review in your build thread of "hit really hard in the 30 to 60 hz range."

Where the public officials rival Chicago and DC in corruption. I heard on the radio the other day that New Jersey has a terribly corrupt govt. Yes, should have included Jersey in there too. See in Jersey, it is not something they try to hide such as they are failing to do so here, Jersey it is a tradition and expected. Interesting that is it one of the most devoted Democrat leaning states period. I really don't know much about it. Sometimes it seems like the northeast and California are their own countries. But that's really terrible if it's that open and people aren't hugely up in arms about it. .

Did you send a PM to me? I didn't get one...
  19. No winISD doesn't factor in displacement. You put in the net volume. Then when you go to actually build the box, you add in the port and sub displacement to get the gross volume needed.

Got a new phone today. I really didn't want to. I loved my old phone, had it for about 5 years. But the screen is finally starting to mess up and display weird colors and images when I open it. If I click on anything they go away and it's normal, but I had to wonder how long it would be before I would lose it all. I don't really like any of the new phones, none are like mine.

    Am i wrong here?

Your comments are funny. You keep talking about "noise" and that you will just amplify it. Where do you think this noise comes from? Only three real places: either the pre-amp stage, the d/a's or the amplifier itself. Today's d/a's are pretty much all fine and it is really easy to make a cheap pre-amp stage that sounds decent as you don't need a ton of gain. Use a laptop as an analogy. Your music can sound pretty good playing with the built in soundcard which utilizes a chip that costs the manufacturer a nickel maybe. A cheap headunit regularly is of better quality of this even including OEM stock units. So where is this nasty noise coming from then? Definitely the part of the circuit that is the MOST expensive to build which is the amplifier. For instance the power supply on a cheap off board amplifier will still cost more than the whole amplifier in a headunit. Headunit amplifier is an oxymoron. If you truly believe this is real power, I am thoroughly amused. Component parts are chosen regularly to meet a price point and pretend to be a spec. 19w is a joke and not in the amount of power but the joke is that they got you to believe it. No where anywhere did I say "louder=better", but I will guarantee for the OP in the thread on Hondatech that he will listen to his stereo turned up (sole reason he is getting it as he wants more) which means that poor h/u "amplifier" will be creating mad noise instead of doing what it is supposed to and that is amplify the signal off the pre-amp. I suppose you will tell us next how headroom won't improve the sound and it is unnecessary as well as it would fit right into your argument. I guess I misunderstood your last post. My bad. You were arguing that the amplifier had more to do with it. But I will say that not all head units are created equal in the preamp stage, as per my difference in sound experience. Low-end Kenwood sounded shitty compared to mid-grade Alpine. I can't tell you if the d/as were different and don't know the differences in the preamps. But there was a difference somewhere in there. I can't remember ever switching the same speakers from HU power to external amplifier power, though, so I wouldn't know the differences in sound there.

I'm a bit confused, you say the amp is 900 watts RMS bridged but then later say 1800 watts? Hey we are in the same town, that is neat.
