Boy my basketball team is not good. They got blown out like 80-40 last week when I wasn't there, and we lost like 65-40 this week when I was. Just too many turnovers from bad passes with people either just not being strong with the ball or freaking out when they pick up the dribble and think it's a hot potato or something. That frustrates me a ton.

You're! Grammar ninja strikes again.

I think you could probably get away with two 4" aeroports, but if you could squeeze three of them in there you'd be just fine.

3.9, two B's in 4 years, Those two B's were in theory based math classes. Was VP and President of a volunteer organization that won highest awards in the organization, lead tech for transmission in my senior design project (rotating machinery anyone?) Member of the engineering honor society, recipient of an award only two people in the Mech engineering program recieved (the other guy did get an offer from Exxon), recipient of an award only 2 people in the Houston area received, etc... wtf else do you need??? A master's degree. Seriously. I ran into that problem when thinking about oil companies with my geology degree. Wouldn't even look at you really without one. Hard to have a master's in an entry level position. Any one I was competing with didn't have a master's. Hell, they didn't have a double major either. The double major really has done nothing for me as no potential employer has even mentioned it. Hate to be the one to say this, but college does not make you ready for a job. Not even close. However, that is exactly why there are entry level positions. I've learned 10x what I did in college since I left 10 years ago and I went to a school that is usually ranked in the top 3 in the country. In fact the only thing I think college is truly useful for is teaching you how to learn which is invaluable in the real world. In this case you got screwed somehow. I bet the deck was stacked against you ahead of time whether it be an insiders child applied or what. Not worth getting upset at yourself or them for, it happens. instead just buckle up and shoot for other options. Bummer it happened that way though. I know I slacked in college because there wasn't actual implementation going on. It's like ok solve this problem on paper. But I'm a visual and physical application learner, I have to see the final product and have hands on to learn effectively. Though obviously those ATVs and stuff you're building is exactly that, but in a lot of other things it's just conceptual during school. I mean college does have many good points, I doubt you'd disagree with me on that. I know I learned a million things that I didn't know before, at least some of which made starting my job a lot easier. Yes you will do a ton of on-the-job training to fall into that specific work, but I think having an idea going in is invaluable. I mean in my job I wouldn't be successful if I just had an english degree or something (which writing reports is half of my job). Neither would just be having a high school diploma. I think you also have to realize that you're young. I mean yes obviously shoot for the stars, but realize that you will likely have to work up, and your work life is longer than you think at this point. You have lots of time to move up. Plus in quite a few jobs that would require a degree, there are opportunities to branch out within that position and take on work that's not part of your original hiring position. Those extra projects can be a lead and experience for a subsequent job. But yeah the work environment is quite different from school. Sean is more in sales IIRC so I'm sure his job is about 180* from mine and I imagine we have quite different work experiences in general.

You could do a level 2 and just keep the gain down, but I'm with the others. I'd just get a level 3 so that you can use the full potential from the amp. I don't know the prices but I doubt there's too large of a gap between the two?

I have some big ol' shrimp shipped from my family in Louisiana thawing out in my refrigerator. What is a good yet simple way to make them? Not sure if I want to put them in anything or just eat them alone. I think they are kinda too big to put in anything, though of course I could chop them up.

Just a guy trying to take advantage anywhere possible. I have as much respect for military personnel as the next guy, but you chose to enter the military the same way I chose to get a job here. You get paid for your work just like I do for mine. I get a bunch of discounts because I work for the state but I damn sure don't expect one anywhere. I chose to work for the state instead of a private company, where I could have probably made more money, just like he probably could have made more money in another job rather than in the military. It's public service. Either you are fine with it and continue to do it, or get out and do something else.

When i talked to a guy from Exxon at the invitational job fair, he saw the word internship on my resume and said, "so you haven't had any Co-Ops?" So spending my summers wisely to gain work experience and to graduate with a double major in 4 years as opposed to people take 5 years for the one engineering degree isn't as cool as taking 5 years to graduate with practically the same amount of work experience? A lot of times those people just look for certain things, that's it, and mainly just because it's tradition. Doesn't make it right or fair or even logical in some cases, but it is what it is. They go through a thousand applications looking only for degrees and internships. The end. If internship isn't on the resume, it's thrown away.

That would not be anywhere near the top 5 clean unclipped power category.

Oh the horror, the dread! Life cannot go on, everything is so much worse now! I think I might have to

trunked car subwoofer enclosure question
KU40 replied to antonmiller's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Why not just face the sub forward and seal off the whole trunk behind the front baffle? Solves the problem completely. Plus you have less volume to pressurize since you're taking the trunk out of the equation so your score will probably go up. -
KU lost to fucking Colorado. Can't believe that shit. And K-State opened up a new can of whoop-ass. That was crazy. Completely flip-flopped from the week before. They lost like, what, 62-14 to texas tech and then this week won 62-14 against A&M?

The Big 12 North is so f'd up this year. Nobody appears to want to win it.

KU lost to fucking Colorado. Can't believe that shit. Well all the analysts were looking for a reason to drop KU from the charts, now they have it. KU may win one game the rest of the year. Their defense is such utter shit it's hard to watch. Time to look forward to basketball season. Thank goodness exhibitions begin in two weeks.

I had a guy tell me which cylinder was which on my expy when I had my cyl 6 misfire. He pointed to it in the engine bay. When I got home, I looked down and the ford cyl diagram on the radiator cover showed a completely different cyl. I've only found intelligent parts people at Car Quest and Napa here, everyone else is a retard I think. And now you have to say that like reh-tard instead of ree-tard. So much funnier!

Yeah really, who cares? That place sucks.

Oh I didn't see you have a stock head unit. Many stock head units have bass limiters to protect the interior speakers. As the volume goes up, they keep the bass level about the same. Have you had any sub setups in this vehicle before? If this is your first one, it's possible. Check with another source, as has been said. But if you've had other sub setups with the same head unit and they seemed fine, it's likely the box issue with this one.

I'm not a big fan of the 300zx because I think it looks a bit boxy in the rear and don't like the front end. Though the latest years helped that a little bit.

I like my bourbon or whiskey and coke, but they sure don't like my larynx. I get the scratchy voice nearly immediately. Plus it doesn't help that I'm always having to talk loudly when I drink it because I'm at a bar.

Except in a coaxial there is a large hole in the center of the midbass and 95% of them don't allow for separation of signal prior to the speaker. Which means the mid and tweet can't get the individual crossovers they need other than the pathetic -6db capacitor some manufacturers put on the tweeter.
-
Caused distortion in other speakers? That doesn't make sense at all. The most glaring difference between kappa and reference are the tweeters. The kappa uses metal, while reference uses silk. You can easily tell the difference when listening.

Subs don't move that much around the tuning frequency unless you have extra power. Download winISD alpha and take a look at the excursion chart. Within about 10 hz of the tuning frequency most of the air movement comes from the port. Also, that wave length thing doesn't matter. Easy tests- roll down your windows or move your box forward/backward in the trunk. Your system gets louder with the windows down because it removes some reflections and cancellation, and so does moving the box more toward the back of your trunk instead of near the rear seats. But if the subs aren't moving much on any frequencies, it's likely just a lack of power problem.
