Sweet I have 40 reputation points. That matches my name. That is neat.

Man I'm so hungry, why am I putting off eating? Apparently I'm torturing myself.

I had a dream last night that Bobby Valentine of the Mets, wanted me to play OF. And how did it go? Did you wake up thinking you could have a future in baseball?

You know something? YOU SUCK dammit I wish I could remember what movie that's from.

Yeah, he's ignorant.

How are you going to use bolts on an enclosure to join the edges?? I know there is a chemical that is used specifically to do these types of things. But I forget what it's called. It basically welds the plexi together. I think that would really be the correct way to do it. Bolts would look ugly anyways.

I think you're going to be quite hard pressed to find somebody who has listened to each of those subs. And really, unless somebody has, you're not going to get a correct answer. I mean BKOLFO4's comment was helpful since at least he's comparing two of the drivers, but that may be about all you can get.

I started off tuned to 36 Hz. Then I tried 32 Hz, and I found 29 Hz to sound the best. So I guess I like it tuned as low as possible. But I still don't know is larger subs mean deeper bass, or if frequency response is what determines how low a sub will play. I have a low pass filter (non adjustable) on my amp. If I wanted a sub sonic filter, would I need an amp with one built in, or can you hook up one like a crossover? They do have external sub sonic filters, I just suggest buying an amp with it already on there. Alot of factors play into deeper bass while the most important one is the enclosure for the subwoofer, sub size doesnt have really play a role just moves more air than a smaller version of the same sub. Although increased displacement helps play low. It takes more excursion/displacement to play as loud as you get lower frequency. Plus generally larger diameter subs have lower Fs relative to their smaller counterparts, which can help as well. However I would agree that enclosure plays as big of a part as all these things in low frequency extension.

Bass Booster on iPod/iPhone

Oh, in your car. I guess I glanced over that part in your first post. No, I wouldn't use it there. Have it be flat. Using it on the Ipod is the same thing as using it on the head unit or amplifier. -
Did port area change

I just ate a bowl of corn pops cereal, and it got me thinking about those commercials with "gotta have my pops." They haven't played those in a while.

Apparently we could wear costumes to work today as long as they aren't too risque. But I don't have a costume.

Hooray Friday. Had a dream about surviving a nuclear blast last night, then going to find the terrorists who were planning on detonating more.

Sounds like you had the icons wired at too low of impedance for the amp?

If you listen to rap, tune to 30 hz or so.

Bass Booster on iPod/iPhone

I'd say use it if you want. It's pretty easy to tell when headphone speakers are stressing. Plus if it's just those ipod headphones, those things are like 5 bucks so replacement isn't as big of a concern as a $300 sub. And I've never heard of anybody blowing headphone speakers. maybe you have, but it seems to be pretty hard to do. -
Everyone has to have something to complain about, so, how about Pedro and Cliff Lee getting calls basically in the dirt. Don't even get me started on the breaking balls. Cliff Lee was awesome last night though. I don't care who was batting, nobody was going to beat him. You know what though? I am sick and tired of seeing these guys take strikes. Just pisses me off. Why not just make it two and out? I didn't watch the game but on ESPN it had some update saying Jeter bunted a foul ball for strike three. Why would Jeter ever be bunting on a 3rd strike? Makes no sense to me. They were up 3-1 at the time too.

I've been having damn rabbit poop for over a week. It's not good for you to eat like that. haha. I suppose not.

suggestion on 12" subs in a ported box
KU40 replied to Dangerous10k's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
He's missing out on a lot of music with a tune that high. Some people have their subwoofer's low pass filter at 60-65 hz. That would give you 10 hz of usable range. Basically worthless IMO. -
What kind of adhesive do you need for the "glue?"

I've been having damn rabbit poop for over a week. The splash is so annoying.

they are built in the same place, but as I'm understood not necessarily same process, and design. remember, Fi is selling direct, for other companies they must be able to build the woofer cheap enough for merchant company to re-sell for a profit. I think SSA makes a great product, but I don't see why you would spend more money on a product when you can buy a custom sub for less directly from the person who builds and designs their woofer. I shouldn't say not same quality your right, but in this particular case, how can a more expensive sub with less power handling be a good recommendation? everyone has their favorite company, I mean I am on team sundown and plan on personally running a thousand watts daily to some SA-12's, but they are really not built for that so why would I recommend that to compare with 1200 watts drivers just cause I like the company? You do realize you're talking to an owner of SSA, right?

It was a pretty good and well respected SPL sub back in the day. Do they even still make them?
