    subwoofer gasket?

Also look for rope caulk. Easiest stuff ever to use. It comes in a little box already rolled up into a string and you just unroll it around the sub and press it into place.

Foam sub box lining affecting tuning?

Ports are the same as vents. Interchangeable words. If you want to say round port or PVC port, that's understandably different than a slot port.

Aw, the email girl just asked me to send her like 1200 bucks over western union to get her "goods" shipped back to the US. I knew she was a scammer from the first email. Seriously, you talk like a whacked-out moron and expect that shit to work? I suppose I should change the passwords to all of my...... well, everything now.

You have a number of misconceptions in there. Ported boxes only suffer from port noise if there is too little port area. There would be no problems with that if you make the port big enough. Ported boxes will be louder than sealed, especially in the lows of most music. What was the size of your old ported box and what was it tuned to? You can change the tune of your ported box, you just have to make the port longer or shorter. Having the port recessed is ok as long as you account for that extra depth in the port length. So if you recess the port 3/4", you have to realize that that 3/4" counts towards the port length. If you don't account for it your actual tuning frequency will be a little lower than you think. It won't be a huge deal, however, and you probably wouldn't notice the difference. Just thought I'd point it out for thoroughness's sake.

When I was in college I'd play basketball 3-4 times per week and that's all the conditioning I needed. But now that I only play once per week on average, I have to do more. But I kinda mix it up. The circumference of my block is about 1.25 miles and some days I'll just run that as fast as I can. Some days I'll run it twice for 2.5 miles or do a little extra to get up to 3. Some days I'll run around once, then I'll do sprint intervals where I'll jog for about 50 yards, then sprint for the same distance. Repeat for however long you can push yourself to sprint. just mix it up. I usually use landmarks, like ok I'll sprint to that fire hydrant up there, then jog to the sign, then sprint to that driveway, etc. I do that up and back down the block, which is about a mile. If you really sprint, that can fix you up in a hurry. Sometimes I go into the gym and do sweet 16s, which is across the court width-wise 16 times (or 8 over and backs), and try to get it under one minute. That way I get both long distance and short stuff mixed in. Those sprints are what help basketball the most, as basketball shape is different than, say, just long distance shape.

suggestion on 12" subs in a ported box

I would personally get the D2 version and wire all them in series and then together they will drop to 1.3333 ohms and just use them on 1 amp that is 1 ohm stable, just my .02. I agree. Series wire each sub's voice coils then parallel wire the subs together to maintain a stable load for a 1 ohm amp.

oh boo hoo Quit your bitchin', most would kill for that situation Ha, yeah I know I'm not in too bad of a situation. I just want 10 lbs danget, 10 lbs. Try eating late at nite, it helped me out in picking up weight anytime I need to. I want muscle weight, not to just gain weight in general. It will just take me some time. Well I do understand that, just work out more and drink some muscle milk (its hard to put on weight doing things the right way but everyone is different). I pick up muscle weight by getting picking up my weight first and then working out harder to make up for the added weight. I do drink about 30-35g of whey protein in milk after lifting. I've heard some people have been able to just add the weight then tone down as you said, but I can't really do that. I play basketball and run too much and I don't want to get out of shape at all for that. So I'm kinda stuck with the slow way I suppose.

Well I hope the government does them better than a company I have stock in, USEC. USEC makes the low-enriched uranium for power plant fuel and they wanted a loan guarantee from the DOE to build a new plant and the govt. denied it. Of course the stock price has went down since then.

But actually I usually do eat late anyways. By the time I get home from work, mess around on here and other internets, go to the gym, and shower, it's 9-930 before I eat, and I go to sleep at 10:30 or so.

  13. If you have the space, just do a normal ported box. Isobaric is really only for if you are really cramped for space. It essentially doubles the power handling of your one sub. However, the increased cone area of actually using the two subs separate generally gives better results if you have the room because you can use the advantages of both double power handling and cone area. They should sound the same, however. Maybe you should try a sealed box?
  14. You do NOT need 4000 watts for the BTL. It is rated at 2000 watts RMS. you will gain little by trying to give it 4000 and just exponentially increase the chance that you will blow it. If you build a correct box it will give full output with 2000 watts. Ironically, smaller enclosures actually protect your woofer better than larger enclosures. At least mechanically. Smaller enclosures provide a more stiff air spring behind the sub, thus controlling the cone of the sub a little better and allowing for better mechanical power handling without overexcursion. The thermal rating of the coil becomes the more prominent issue at that point.

    Bass is almost nonexistant

Does your head unit have a high pass filter? Are you using a subwoofer RCA output on the deck or just a front or rear output?

Foam sub box lining affecting tuning?

The first question is, why do you want to build a sealed enclosure larger than recommended?

No txt'ing grammar. Proper english only. what if your texting grammar is proper English Acceptable. Hot coworker and I had a discussion about this today, like her pet peeves of using short words in texts, and my pet peeve of not using the correct form of the word (their, there, they're, etc.) as well as sentence structure. But we also talked about anal sex, BJ's, having threesomes, etc. It was a fun day! She said her, a couple people she knew, and her husband's mom and grandma were playing that "I've never" game, and my coworker wanted to embarrass this girl she hates that was there, so she said I've never done anal, and her husband's grandma said she had! haha.

Danget I've been eating like a pig for the last 2-3 months and lifting yet I seem to still be way skinny. I have better muscle definition, am stronger, and most muscles look bigger, but I don't feel like I'm actually any bigger overall. My stomach is as flat as ever. and I'm always hungry! I think I kicked my metabolism up another notch, because I can't go 4 hours without food.

Steel toes? I got some for work only to find out later that they're actually a composite toe. They said steel toe on a tag, but they sure felt lighter. I didn't know they made composite until I found out when a metal detector wouldn't pick up the steel toe and figured out why. But they're awesome, feel like hiking boots but are durable as heck plus the protection. I put on my old actual steel toes for comparison and those feel like hauling around a brick. Or three.

In home that's what I'd recommend. I personally don't want to look at a sub so downfiring solves that trouble. I flipped my sub box so that it's downfiring. I built it without legs and just fired it into the corner before, but I wanted to try out downfiring so I just cut some pieces of wood and stuck them under the face. Worked well and I like the results, both aesthetically and sonically. It seems to have less cancellation areas in the room, more even sound throughout.

Pick her up, oral highway ftw. I agree with Sean. Go get her. At least keep the crazy girl on the side. May be nuts but sounds really fun to play with. Plus she wants to fulfill every sexual need you have. Oral highway is a pre-requisite for the ride. If not, gtfo. Ha true. well damn I already emailed her saying I couldn't do it. I'm busy until 3-4 hrs after her plane lands anyway. I doubt she'd want to wait in the airport that long.
  24. Excellent first post, I commend you on doing your research first. Might be one of the best first posts we've ever had on here. As for the BTL being fully powered on a stock electrical system, that depends entirely on the specs of the stock electrical system. In a Corolla, absolutely no way. Those things have, what, like an 80 amp alternator and the smallest battery they could fit in there? It would definitely need beefed up if you want to run 2000 watts RMS to that sub. You could probably get a 400 watt amp and not have to upgrade the electrical system, but at that point I think you would crave the full potential of the sub. I would also be very leery that a Corolla would have enough space for an 18" BTL. As for choking off the bass, that all depends on how you configure the box. If the box takes up most of the trunk, you will most likely be better served facing the subwoofer forward and blocking off the rest of the trunk behind the front baffle of the sub. That effectively takes the trunk out of the entire sound equation. Sundown is a great company. They have a forum on this site and you can even talk to the owner of the company directly in there. Great customer service and great product. With car audio, you get what you pay for. As for box size, that's really a preference of your listening tastes. Different sized boxes sound differently. Larger boxes are more efficient for sound output and can play lower notes. But as you increase box size, mechanical power handling decreases. However, box size alone will NEVER hurt a speaker. You could put that 18" in a 0.5 cubic foot box and no harm would be done. It just wouldn't sound very good.

    subwoofer unloading

No, there's nothing more involved. You shouldn't put full power to any sub under tuning, regardless of sub or recommended tuning frequency.
