Work for the state in environmental remediation. If contamination is found or suspected, I take groundwater, soil, etc. samples to find out if a health or environmental hazard is present and point the finger at the guilty party.

Nice work! Can you elaborate on how the DLSs sound better than the JLs? I have XRs now and am not totally satisfied with them, but they are good enough to keep me unmotivated to change.

You may be able to glue it back together. I forget what kind they use on there, CA glue or something? It broke because the spider can only stretch so far. It's like taping one end of a rubber band to a desk and then pulling on the other end. The spider is attached to the basket, like the rubber band to the desk. When you pull the rubber band up (ie- the cone moves out during excursion) it can stretch to a point, then at some point the tape will give away from the desk and you will pull it off (ie- the spider will either rip or the glue will come undone from the former). You may want to take a DMM and measure the resistance of the coils, though, also. Usually when you have mechanical damage like this the voice coil will still move up and down in the motor so the sub will still technically work and it might make some bad noises as it scratches around without support from the spider. But you could have also either burned the voice coils, which then the heat may have melted the glue on the spider joint, or you could have also snapped the tinsel leads during the overexcursion, which won't allow any power to the voice coils.

Don't forget shitty Homo. The guy just stinks. The only things he's consistent at is inconsistency. half of that is due to the shitty offensive line statistically he ain't half bad Stats don't tell half of it. Look at Jimmy Clausen. Hell, look at Jeff George. What are you saying about them? They are better than their stats, or worse? They have pretty good stats, but otherwise suck. I think Clausen is decently ok. But I fear he'll be like Quinn in the NFL.

You are right that what we put into our bodies doesn't change our genetic makeup so we can't pass it on to children. But I thought testosterone or some kind of hormone like that was legal for men? I just say that because there was a kid I went to high school with that was I guess a little slow on getting to puberty, so he had a doctor prescribe him something to speed it up. I'm not sure if it was testosterone or some other kind of growth hormone. So this "kid"...is his screen name KU40? Ha, no. I got hair when I was supposed to.

JL Audio Slash v2 300/2v2 vs RF 600-2
KU40 replied to rbond's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would probably choose the JL because it has a bit more/better features so it's a bit more flexible if you want to do anything differently down the road. -
Too much excursion.

Kickers have no room for error. Now a punter, with my life time of soccer, I could do. Yeah, like Dallas and Nick Folk. I believe last year or the year before Nick Folk led the league in points and was a great young kicker. This year, Dallas drops him and signs Suisham, who, IMO, is not a step up. Granted I didn't watch any Dallas games this year so I don't know how Folk was doing. Just looked at his stats this year, and he was nearly perfect except for in the 40-49 yd category, he was only 5-12. So a couple bad weeks for Folk completely unraveled his two years of having 100+ points and kicking 84%+. Suisham is a lifetime 79% kicker. Dallas axed him basically because he missed that 24 yarder in Nawlins Folk is 79% for his career at this point, too, but that will likely change True. But I think over the long term Folk will be the better kicker if he can get past the mental problem that I think is his issue. Suisham's 79% has come over a 4-5 year career, Folk was at like 85% before his last 6-7 games this year, when he went 4-11 I think. Which I guess is pretty bad and I don't totally blame the Cowboys for wanting to change. Just hope he can get over his yips.

Hooray for having the day off work. Drove to Omaha this weekend to visit some of the gf's family, it was a fun time. But driving back sucked, there was heavy fog the WHOLE way and we couldn't drive more than 45-50 mph. What was supposed to only take 3 hours took 4.5.

Yeah I love watching him run but it sucked that every play he just ran into a wall right at the line and seemed to just get 2 yards every play.

might as well More money and time is spent stopping the use even though it's rampant use is everywhere. It doesn't make sense, then goal is to put buts in seats. The more home runs the more TD's the more goals the better. Look at football, the rules are changing every day to make the game far less about defense and more about offense. Disagree. The two foot down rule for WR this year proves that. I'm not going to lie. I don't follow football, but you're saying that the rules aren't in favor of offence and more TD's? What is this new rule? Offense rules were put into place recently, but this year they compensated to reduce the scoring. Both feet have to land in bounds to have it be a complete catch. That has always been the rule in the NFL for as long as I can remember. It's just in college where they only have to have one foot in. Again, unless you're talking about the push-out rule. But I don't remember if in years past they had to get just one foot in before being pushed out or what. You need to review. Last year you didn't need to have both feet in bounds, this year you do. Assuming that of course a defender is the cause of you going out of bounds. Not like college and definitely new this year. Right, we were talking about the same thing. On all normal plays where you aren't being pushed, the rule has always been 2 feet down in the NFL. But when the defender is pushing you out of bounds when you're in the air, you still need 2 feet down this year, which is the rule that changed. Before this year you only needed one foot down if you were being pushed.

I've always just used a pair of $15 RCAs and have never had any problems.

Why did you buy a 3000 watt amp for one Q? If you want to expand to a second Q down the road, that's fine, but you should be ordering dual 1 ohm coils so that you can wire the subs in series/parallel later and give each 1500 watts with the amp at 1 ohm.
-
Is the amp mono? If not, he wasn't running the PB at 2 ohms because I imagine the amp couldn't handle it. Bridged, at least. If he had it at 2 ohms on just one channel but then bridged the amp for the Sony, the Sony was still getting twice the power.
-
The sony was likely getting twice the power that the Powerbass was, which should be a noticeable increase in output. Not that I'm defending either product.

Just installed the SAE1200v.2 in 27 degrees outside. Beautiful power. I installed it in the softball parking lots on the edge of town which haven't been plowed since all the snow came down the last few weeks. It was 6" of ice, slush, and snow. I almost had to put it into 4wd to get in and out of there, almost got stuck once.

I had those on Wednesday. Good stuff

If your amp isn't too powerful, you should increase box size to increase the efficiency of the setup.
-
Their difference in power would likely be small and definitely inaudible. The real question you should ask when picking between these two amps is which amp is more reliable? And to that I'd likely answer the former.

Had a car audio shop tell me JL amps were better than sundown
KU40 replied to Lifted07Duramax's topic in Sundown Audio
The first is in part and the second is completely due to the regulated power supply. Quite a number of amps on the market have it. So these points aren't that special, although they are selling points for some people. As for this thread, we get one on here every week or two. So your town's shops are not special in either not knowing or hyping their own products over these internet companies'.
