oh god you're reminding me of that settlement lump sum company's commercial with all those people sticking their head out the window and yelling "It's my money, and I want it now." I feel like breaking the tv every time I heard that. I hate that retarded crap.

I guess you and I have had vastly different work experiences.

only thing I'll give 'em is good food everything else... yikes I'd be interested in hearing an explanation. I've been to florida once (like 10 years ago to go to disneyland when my little brother and sister were like 7-8). We were just in Orlando, though, and it just seemed real tourist-y. and of course lots of old people in florida. and one of my friends is thinking he wants to move to south carolina. I've always though it would be decent to live in a place like that, next to the ocean, trees (hey I'm from kansas, haha), etc. My aunt lives in Louisiana and we've visited her a couple times. Doesn't seem too bad other than just kinda being....a little more poor I guess. So it "seems" ok to me. But I'd like to hear the negatives so that I have a more realistic view.

I'm not too researched up on the high efficiency stuff Jim is talking about. About the only thing I'd suggest is to just do some MT's all the way around and do 5.1. I love the Dayton References and you could do something like either the 6 or 7" and a 1" tweeter. or even MTM's in the front (surrounds don't need to be anything more than decent MT's IMO). Then you could get a simple Pioneer 100w x 5 receiver for like 200 dollars and it could run everything. Except the sub, of course, which for you I'd just get a 12 or 15, maybe one of the Dayton's on partsexpress too, and put it in a big ported box tuned to about 30 with a 250 or 500 watt plate amp. I have WMT's for my LCR and MTMs (were my old LC's when I did 2 channel so figured I may as well just use them) for my surrounds with a pioneer receiver like that and oh man does it get loud. can't even talk to the person sitting next to you on the couch.

one of my friends has tuesdays off and last night he called me and talked me into going fishing this morning at sunup. We did fairly well, started out looking for catfish but they weren't biting so I put that pole under a log with the bobber out there and got out the bass pole setup going a few feet away. Ended up catching a 1 lb. largemouth (which was cool because I saw it take the lure like 4 feet from shore, never seen that before), a crappie, and two bluegill. I had never caught a crappie before so that was interesting. I was like wtf is this ugly thing? haha. I had never seen a fish with so much black. and he just texted me as I was writing this that he wants to go again after work today. haha. I guess he must want to try and close the 4-2 fish caught gap I opened this morning. I told him it's all in the fisherman's hat. So unless he went and bought one today I don't think he has a chance.

Keep telling yourself that. No chit. I don't understand, but I guess the difference becomes clear when you have done both. they both have pros and cons to me. I got tired of doing work that I wasn't getting paid to do in school, and work I just didn't like to do in general (spanish, english papers, etc.). But you have fewer responsibilities in school, and the schedule is easier. Most people don't go to school from 8-5 like many jobs, your classes may not start till 9-10 and only last a few hours, or some days you may only have one class or something and get a bunch of free time. But the thing I like about working is that you have no homework. Once you go home you can forget about work and not have more work to do.

oh you guys must be a week or two ahead of KU. They're just having finals this week. I don't think grades are due for another 1-1.5.

most of my grades took until at least the week after finals week to get posted. So I wouldn't hold your breath.

Need help finishing my music
KU40 replied to ibsmooth's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you don't need 16v batteries, and definitely hook up the amp's power wire to the battery, not the alternator. -
I don't know. I think you could say that hitting 150 is about the same as just dropping in a new pair of compenents in for SQ. Everybody can do it by just adding equipment, right? The ones who get to 180 db or tops in SQ are the ones who then take that component set or sub setup and tweak it a ton. They add time alignment, they tweak the tuning frequency and box size. They add EQ's, they add a ton of bracing and concrete. Both tweak positioning of drivers. etc.

no. But I just go to view new posts when I come here. so I guess I kinda cheat

dang I wanted to see the end of it too. and he hasn't said anything about how it rides now.
-
But the problem with that is that all artists don't record it flat.
-
I have a ford. but that doesn't mean I know anything. ha. What the problem is?

it's interesting to see how different car audio forums have different ideologies about things, and topics that get concentrated on or brought up in threads just as an "aside."

I think you're broken.

electric power ?
KU40 replied to pimpn PT's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
maybe you should wait more than 18 minutes before getting antsy, especially on a saturday night. Before we say his stock alternator will suffice, shouldn't you know how big it is? Some of those older Hondas and things have 60 amp alternators. Think that'll cover those amps? I'd say if you have 110+ you'll be ok. stock battery might suffice as well, but may want to upgrade to a red top or something similar that has a little more backup power. Then just run some 1/0 guage from the battery to the back. -
That's what I was going to say. Our ears don't hear at a flat rate across the audio spectrum. They're more sensitive at certain frequencies than others. Not to mention that some frequencies or music notes played are annoying or hurt the ear/brain if played very loudly.
-
but you're not compressing air at 100 db when your sub moves out? Like as has been said, things can't get much louder. and can't really get much bigger, either, since you're obviously limited by the amount of space within the vehicle. people already take up the whole trunk, take out back seats, build walls, etc. There's not really any more space to fill up. I think it's reaching the limit.

measure twice cut once....

The box is smaller than I'd do, but it'll make noise.

If any on that list are listenable, the Eagles' GH is probably it. Because let's face it, other than HFO I don't know of many of their albums that work cohesively as an album... I like Def Leppard's "Vault" a lot. But maybe that's just me. I'm not really into anything much older than 80's so most of that list doesn't concern me.

well, no trout. But we saw one in the water when we were walking in. The wind was in our face at that point though so couldn't really fish from there. we did catch about 10 bluegill, though, so it wasn't a total waste of time. even if they were all as small as your hand . The gf caught her first fish in probably 15 years, so she was happy. I really wanted a trout, though.

going trout fishing this morning. Hopefully catch lunch!
