It's "just" a tropical storm right now. But still has time to develop a little more. and it's named Dolly. haha.
-
you should try just turning your box on it's back so that both are facing up in the current box. See how that works.
-
soldered to what, the terminals? They aren't already? Can you give a picture?
-
That's what I thought too. Why do you even want to change? Just to change dimensions of the box? The two are within .3-.4 cubes of each other, so you won't notice a difference in sound.
-
build the box with those dimensions and use the same ports. you'll only be 1 hert higher in tuning frequency. If you want to stay the same, lengthen the port by an inch.
-
A vast majority of the time it will be louder to the rear. I think the exception to this is if either your box takes up basically the entire cross area of the trunk or if you wall it off at the front baffle so that little if any waves get back into the trunk.

Caught a catfish tonight. Which wouldn't be out of the ordinary except that I was fishing for bass using a minnow lure ~6" below the surface. wtf? That catfish must have an identity disorder.

Substituting speakers in a premium sound system isn't as easy as just replace and play. Premium sound systems have factory amps, which you may be aware of, which generally run off of different impedences than "normal." You may want to find out what impedence those speakers are and see if the factory amps can handle the 4 ohms you'll probably put on them with aftermarket equipment. Some run at 8 or even 10 ohms. If the factory amps won't support as low as 4 ohms you'll have to either install an aftermarket head unit or an aftermarket amp. I'd say do 6.5" components if you have the motivation and resources to make adapter plates for the mids and find a place to mount the tweeters. If you're just looking for ease of replacement, just stick with 6x8 coaxials.

what was your old box tuned to and what is the new box tuned to

haha he was the principal at my old middle school. He left to pursue his music career I think. That was......oh man....like 10 years ago.
-
I don't think he's coming back.

I'd even say that's way too high. I think 80 is the absolute maximum you'd want to go. 65-70 is better.

great stuff. worlds above audiobahn anything.

Remembering some classic Sport Sedans....

those cars don't really do it for me. I don't know why, they just seem boring to me. Especially the Benzes. -
do hills and curves affect gas mileage a lot? I figured I should be getting more than 19.5 mpg when I go 55 mph on this road, but it's very hilly and curvy. If it's not one it's the other, which is also a reason I like to take it. It's fun. Fortunately the hills aren't so big and my Explorer only downshifts 1-2 times during the 20 minute drive. I've gotten upwards of 24 when I've gone on long trips going 65 out in relatively flat western Kansas, so I figured I should be getting that when I go 55 on this road. But I do have a couple blocks in town at each end of the drive.

Gonna grill tonight. I think I'll throw on a t-bone, a couple pork loins, a couple hamburgers, and whatever the gf wants to eat (probably chicken) . That'll be quite a variety.
-
I was kinda the opposite. Woke up 45 minutes early after a crappy night's sleep and couldn't get back to sleep. So I was just like whatever, I'll just go into work. At least I got off early on a Friday because of it!

So I saw this thin on a car audio manufacturer site

There's really nothing to hear. They are basically an alternative to a port in a ported box. -
use duct tape! If you have a meter available to you, do a ton of testing with position of things. I'm talking try it with the back seats down, visors down, glove box open, front seats forward/backward more, leaning towards the center of the car, etc. I've seen an extensive test like this done and it gained 2 db just from these little things. and yes, duct tape was actually one of the little tests! I think he applied it around the subs, sort of like an extra sealant between the subs and the box.

Batteries: Starting vs Deep Cycle

So is the red top a completely different beast then (relatively speaking)? -
don't ask that question, nobody knows. Just do 2 because you are less likely to have port noise and it at least can't be worse. Why would you have to put them on the side? you can bend them inside the box, if that helps.

isnt apiece and individually the same?? i want 2000 to both of them....and i was leaning towards the BTL was well. Oops I meant apiece or total.
