    10" soloX problems

what amp do you have and what are the settings tuned to? Also, check for air leaks on the box.
  2. KU40

    Break in time?

none really. It will break in by itself no matter how hard you push it.

    Welcome to the IHoP

the ones i've heard of don't work. look at threads at gassavers.org, some people have tried it there and made long threads. I just joined there a week ago.

If the Corvette engines are so great with their 2 valves/cylinder as far as price/performance/hp/etc., why are most cars made with 4 valves? Or if 4 valve is better, why doesn't GM put 4 in there? Maybe just to be different like the Hemi engine?

    10" soloX problems

a box that's too small won't make the sub "suck in." that has nothing to do with it. It's in the signal chain if anything. can you post a video?

    1500d ............good for 2 18Q's??

750 watts if the impedence is right. 1500/2.
  9. I was wondering the same thing. Usually if you can't get it rewound it's because the alternator case is already stuffed with wire as much as it can be. No more wire = no more power generation. If you plan on blowing your eardrums out with it turned up all day, get the larger alternator.

    ported or sealed

Ported will be ok if you wanted to try it. But I would go sealed.

man even on your eyelid, ha.

    About to order....

    that depends on the box.

how to fit large wire into btl speaker terminals

8 guage is pretty unnecessary. But you can shave off strands to make it fit. I wouldn't drill.

    ordering an Fi BTL

what kind of performance do you want

    Welcome to the IHoP

Yeah eat more! Probably going to put on the level B suit today. Level A tomorrow. Kinda sucks, I wish I'd do the level A today since it's cooler. I'm going to fry in that thing tomorrow.

    Memphis M1

that prefab ported box is probably tuned to 40 hz or something like that, hence the no lows predicament. Build your own and tune it to 30-32.
  17. Then he wasn't getting full power out of his amplifier. larger amps pull more power, period. efficiency won't be a huge difference in those amps.

    Sub question...

the SI Mag only comes in 12" so if you choose that, that's what you get. Unless you go used and get a previous version. I'd do 2 sealed of those.
  19. $17 cables have never given me a problem.
  20. good stuff. I had an ST-1000D and it was solid. Did right at rated power.

J/C is a pretty trashy place.... i lived on post for a few months.... Junction City or Junction? Ain't chit in Junction last I checked...there was a gas station though... junction city, kansas.
  22. well......you need a good electrical system to handle any big amp.
  23. KU40

    Best amp for around $100

could probably find some used 2 channel crossfire amps on ebay for that. Or is the sub a 4 ohm DVC?

    Welcome to the IHoP

man, junction city is the suck. Ate at a Denny's last night (coworker's suggestion as it was right next door to the hotel) and it was probably the greatest gathering of white trash I have ever seen. I left no tip, she didn't either. first i had no silverware, then my waffle didn't come with the strawberry topping I ordered, then my lemonade had no lemon flavor.
  25. it's probably a "burp" amp because of the fusing. 200 amps won't last long for an amp rated for, what, 7kw? I mean think about it. you'd have to pull abou 700 amps to get 7000 watts. If you are pounding that much wattage through a 200 amp fuse, it will pop in a few seconds. but if all you need is a few seconds to burp, it will work. I assume this is for those comps that break you into classes based on fuse size.
