I'm a little worried about Hurricane Ike. It's already a category 4 and it's still way out there.

ack, gag. It's hard for me to believe somebody is going from a Cobra to an xB. Pretty sure that's never happened before. I could really care less about performance. It's all about making sure I can safely and reliably move my son around. I wasn't even talking about performance. They're just so ugly to me. haha. But I understand the son thing.

Anything else to do b4 install

Do replace the ground wire on the battery. Power and grounds should be the same, because they're a circuit. A weak link anywhere will cause the whole thing to perform worse. Do you know the size of your alternator? I think it's pretty stout. My '98 Explorer with the V6 has a 130 amp alt, I can't imagine yours being smaller. I get dimming when I'm sitting still, but not much if I'm moving. My battery is stock and I haven't upgraded any wires under the hood (bad me, I know). I think you'll be ok. -
I don't know, by the time you pay shipping and the recone costs it could be 150 per woofer. If the're like new you shouldn't have to take off more than 100 per sub to sell them outright. Plus the reconed woofers wouldn't sound and perform exactly like a DP 21.

pull it out, then ask again. nothing we can do without that, unless it's a box air leak.

It'll work but you won't be able to turn your head unit volume up all the way. So, for a very general example, if your head unit goes to 50, you may only be able to turn it up to 25 before the preout voltage starts exceeding the amp's input voltage rating. -
Since the tweeters would be on separate channels than the mids with the 100.4, you could dial the gain down to match them to your tastes. You don't have to use all 100 watts.

I fixed mine with about four dollars in parts from Radioshack. I'm sure I posted a link on a thread somewhere on here that had the part numbers. If you don't find it, remind me tomorrow and I'll look.

*cough* It's a Chevy *cough*

They'll sound ok just off the deck. They'll be better with an amp obviously, but I think the only real thing you'd be missing out on besides the extra few decibels is the highpass crossover for the mid. You'll likely want to get some kind of filter for them so that they don't bottom out.

Why not make it easier and put them in a common chamber? Port placement in that sense doesn't really matter.

I'd imagine you'll need a larger box than 1.3 cubes for both of those as well. At least 2 cubes net.

OK now i'm going to go ride my bike to the store and get some more fishing line. Should probably turn the crock pot off though. Threw in some beef, potatoes, baby carrots, cream of mushroom, and onion flavoring mix. Should be good.

Greed. The worst word ever invented.

I think my biggest problem is that people are just stupid. That "peaceful and nonviolent" anarchist riot where the protesters threw glass bottles that somebody was talking about is the prime example. Nobody knows how to be civil anymore. People say one thing, then do another. So it's almost like I don't even care who is elected president because chances are they'll change their mind on half the things they said once they're in office. So how can we expect a predictable government? And don't even get me started on the media and all their crap. They are probably 1/2 our problem. They want things to be dramatic so that they get ratings, and people always believe the diarrhea that spews from their mouths.

This weekend was interesting. My gf and I went to one of my family's functions on saturday and the political talk in my family is all republican. Then last night we go to her family and they're all democrats. So we heard similar stories about how the other candidate is so bad and they just lost the election because of something they did recently in either camp. My gf wants me to be more political, because I've never been one to care much. Part of it is because of things some of you talked about yesterday. Politics are so controversial and nasty and all that, that it just depresses me. I know this sounds bad, but I'd kinda rather just say fudge it, pay my income taxes, and live without them causing me stress. This may be because I live in an area that doesn't get a lot of federal attention. And I know it's most likely the "easy way out," which I could be criticized for. arg, this country is messed up. The whole world is messed up. I'd move but I don't know where I'd go that's any better.

it is. Maybe she just got done having sex. Or it's some kind of inuendo, like she's offering the cigarette for after the sex she wants to have with you because of the stress she caused with the parked car.

I am glad that I like to succeed, I don't quite understand wanting to be below average. Nothing wrong with succeeding; taking a big ole poopie on people who aren't on your level is what I was refferrrring to So by stating the truth I am pooping on people? If as a society we are severely under cultured for our social economic situation as a country it is better to just flop along and say differently? There is also a huge difference between calling a spade a spade generally and specifically calling someone out. By specifically of course I mean letting them know you are doing it. I wouldn't consider that a question; more like a statement to the current social climate in our country. Amusing since I actually think our level of culture is growing why our economic situation is getting worse. Considering how well off we are as a country though the average person here is pathetic when it comes to realizing what is really important in life. DING DING DING. I'm a little late to the party, but I totally agree. People don't think to look more than 5 feet in front of their face, and what's worse is that even when it's pointed out, they just don't care.

oh jeez, 2.5 cubes for both 15s is cutting them off by a ton. So exactly how much space do you have to work with? If you have the room, a single ported 15 off all 600 watts would likely sound worlds better than what you have now. If you don't, a single sealed 15 in the proper airspace would still likely sound better.
-
You're welcome. wait, I don't think I did anything. haha. But I will do something now, and that is clear up your misconception about the gain. It's not a volume knob. Just because you only have it at 1/4 doesn't mean you have 3/4 more to get full power. You're probably already getting full power at 1/4 gain.

Maybe that's the cold front that's supposed to hit us wednesday. Today is about 93, Wednesday's high is 68 or 70. wow.
