site is down for maintenance so I can't see. There's a surprise.

If you use the full 8v it's possible. but you don't have to make it send 8v. That's just the upper limit that the line driver can put out.

Just finished watching The Ruins. It was not scary like I wanted. Quite disappointed, actually, because it was really just gruesome. I want some scary stuff, but not stuff like a dude chopping off a leg in graphic nature. That's not my thing. I'm too squeamish to watch that.

4 way speakers? how do those 10 tweeters up front sound? Screaming at you?

No. Everything is placed where it is for a reason. These are Squirrel cage fans and are blowing straight down the heat sink fins. The air comes out the blower not the top. If you look at the last picture on page one you will see a little vent on the side of the boat right beneath where the windshield ends. These fans pick up cool air from where the vent comes in and blows it down the fins of the amplifiers. You would be blown away if you could feel how much air these fans move. Kachina has built a lot of boats and they have never seen fans work like this before. This is the best place for fans on Sundown amps. Trust me... ah, I see the fan outputs now. When I first glanced at the picture I thought they just blew air straight out from the picture.

Aren't those fans kind of in a worthless spot? Unless the amps are in a little holed-off area that I can't see very well, I'd think they'd be useless since they aren't blowing over the heat sinks.

But really, why wouldn't you have him on the bench. He had gained, what, like 120 yards total in their first 3 games? Though he does always do really well against the Broncos, and with Damon Huard starting over Thigpen I may have given Grandma-ma the nod since they at least had a chance to move the ball through the air that way. But yeah Edwards and Johnson have underachieved so far. I think Steve Smith will be getting back on track, he sorta did this weekend.

Exactly. So much oversuing is a problem in this country. The company will make that money back one way or another, that's for sure, and usually by passing the buck on to the next consumer. Insurance rates are higher across the board from this too. If it seriously was a negligence on walmart's part, sue for medical bills and lost wages and maybe a g or two for the pain. As Jim said, it's not their responsibility to pay off your debt.

Actually, hopefully a box of better grammar!

wow super slow hop this work day.

I think they're mainly to keep balance/fade controls. Otherwise we may as well all just be using a mono amp for all of our speakers. But you can basically think of each channel as its own mono amp. That's oversimplified, but maybe helps you understand.

Pay off my roughly 25k in student loans, put about 50k towards a down payment for a house, and the other 25k into a retirement account.

My stepdad put a rebuilt 454 in his old chevy and it gets about......4.5 mpg. My dad's '97 F150 doesn't do too great though, unfortunately. Only like 14 mpg on the highway. He did have 305/70/16's on it, though. But it may be better since he did a tune up, I haven't talked to him about it. It has the smaller V8 engine in it. 4.6 liter I think.

Yeah I've made plenty of them. The last time we left the mechanic shop with her SUV (3 weeks ago) the desk attendant said thanks for coming in, and I said "No problem, we'll see you next time, probably in a few weeks."

well the gf's blazer broke down again yesterday. We were on the way back to her house and were in a left turn lane when it just died. Tried restarting it probably 30 times, and about half the time it would start but immediately die even if the pedal was pressed. She called Triple A and it took an hour and 15 minutes for the tow truck operator to get there. All the while people were passing us left and right (literally left and right, about 1/3 passed us in the oncoming traffic lane to our left). Some honked at us and others just sat behind us, and I'm just like um, are you retarded? Do you not understand what hazard signals mean? One guy even pulled up next to us and suggested we turn the hazards on and I'm like, um....they are. I even walked back there at least 3 times to make sure they were working because people kept acting like they weren't on. Then through all this we counted 6, yes 6, police cars drive right by us without stopping. Finally the 7th one did (5 minutes before the tow arrived) and turned on his lights for us since people were obviously too moronic to understand that they have to go around us. There wasn't anywhere to push the thing to off the road, either. So....that was fun. yep. I was hoping to do that on my saturday night.

Really out of RPMs? wow. I had an '88 cavalier with the 2.8 V6, even a 3 speed, and got it to 115 when I wanted to slow down. So that surprises me.

Went fishing for like 20 minutes last night and everything was fine until I got my lure snagged on something and had to break my line. Apparently the mosquitoes were waiting for that moment of weakness when both of my hands were busy tying a new swivel on and attacked by the hoards. I was literally shaking because I was trying to ignore the biting/itching for a minute to complete even one loop of the knot. fuck. When is it going to freeze and kill all those motherfuckers.

Stupid Madden Football. I've had it on All-Pro level for a number of seasons in my franchise but I had grown tired of beating everybody 50-3. So I up it to All-Madden, and it's just retarded, I lose every game even to the shittiest teams. I don't know why the computer doesn't just play zone the whole game because it's absolutely impossible to pass against, even the shittiest linebackers turn into superhuman players to run 20 yards in .1 second to intercept a pass. Decent corners pick everything off, and you have .5 seconds to throw before getting sacked. Likewise, your corners turn into retards and can't cover even a fullback, let alone a big time receiver. Too big of a discrepancy between the two levels. It's turning me off of the game.

yeah...........dual 2s.

Weren't those JBL's that said 1000 watts on the cone the........Power Series I think? The GTI, at least the last version I saw, used the spaceship looking basket. Sorta like the Alpine Type R's.

No. But the "level" from SPL doesn't work well when you use S-Q-L or LSQ. Sound Quality Level? Level Sound Quality? No. At least I changed it to loud because that's the meaning behind SPL. At any rate it doesn't much matter, I hate the term and try to never use it.
-
only because you think S-Q-L is a real term. What is it supposed to stand for? Sound Quality Loud? That doesn't make much sense. maybe Loud Sound Quality is better. They've put a filter on here to change it to LSQ when you post so as to stop the spread of the term.

But how much does a sub stage actually affect the overall score? I've never competed in SQ so I don't know what all they look for, but at the comps I've been to where SQ judging took place the overall SPL of the system added to the score. So I don't know if just having loud subs evens out the score from them not sounding the best. I agree that there isn't a lot of difference in subwoofers so none can really innately be called an SQ or SPL sub. However, I think there are certain factors about each individual sub that leans it one way or the other for in-car use. Box required is one I can think of. If a 12" sub needs 8 cubes to have a flat response it may not be the greatest choice for an SQ application in a vehicle if that much space is not available. Those subs also tend to have a large peak above tuning in a ported box (recommended size for in-car use), which makes them louder for that range and the SPL tag gets put on. Some subs just don't play low very well, so if your definition of SQ is a flat response from 20 to 80 hz, they may not be able to do it easily in a car. And as we all know some subs are designed for SPL use with huge everything to be able to take a lot of power, which sometimes tends to not allow for an easy good response curve either, or just a different sound in general due to the higher moving mass and Le. But with all that said, I'll reiterate that with proper box design nearly all subs should be able to achieve a response curve that fits your definition of "SQ." Plus it's much easier to label a sub an SPL sub if the manufacturer recommends a box that's 3 cubes tuned to 42 hz or something (I think Kicker at least used to do that for their L series subs), which obviously is going to have a limited response range and be very peaky. But if they want to draw in the kids who just want to get loud, that's the way they market it.
