I really need to get a humidifier for my room. It gets so dry when I use my space heater.

great, up at 7am on a Saturday. only got 6.5 hours of sleep. ugh. at least it was starting to get light this morning, unlike every other morning when I'm going to work with it still dark. Last night I was dozing off while sitting at my computer. I must have dozed off about 5 times and only for maybe 20 seconds each time, but I had a different dream each of those times. It was crazy. I'd wake up with the last words spoken in the dream ringing in my ears.

This gecko better eat this one damn cricket I put into his cage real quick tonight, because it's a chirper. I'm not going to have that thing going off all night right beside my bed.

Forgot my roommate had a wedding to go to this weekend, and he left yesterday. and my gf is out of town. I'm all alone all weekend.

Why is it that you always seem to have the hardest work to do on Friday afternoon? I was trying to coast into the weekend, but no, I have to go and look at the corrections my boss wants me to make to my report and I get all engulfed in it and basically rehash the whole case. Ended up leaving 30 minutes late because I didn't want to forget things if I saved it until Monday. dammit.

Amp help please
KU40 replied to jumpinbean23's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if you switched amps and rcas it has to be the head unit. as dbjunior said, some head units have off/on switches for the sub out. -

you really don't need a distribution block that outputs 1/0. It only needs to accept 1/0 input, and you can have 4 guage go to each amp. I know there are some of those around. The ground distribution block doesn't have to be fancy. You can just get an unfused "power" distro block and turn it around so that it basically has three inputs and one output. -
I guess I didn't see that "MTX is pyramid power" bit. MTX and pyramid are two different companies. so which is it, pyramid or MTX?

well, had a decent day getting samples, except for the usual utilities not wanting to actually mark their utilities. One utility guy made me call back in to dig safe and change my ticket so that the place I wanted him to mark was specifically listed. Because apparently "around the big storage tank" only means within 1 foot of it. His utilities were about 15 feet away. Stupid thing is that because I changed the ticket, it gets called back to every other utility company and they will go back out and remark. Jerkoff. 100 bucks says if I just put down the address and no description he'd come to me and say "so where are you going to be working" so that he can try and cut it down. The gas guy refused to mark his line that was about 20 feet from where we were working, even though he had to go out there to see where it was. Why not just mark it anyway while you're there? I swear, in the job description of companies hiring a utility marker it says "Must not want to do your job correctly, must be lazy, and must get easily aggravated when called upon to do your job."

Oem replacement on 2001 lincoln navigator sub
KU40 replied to scizzle's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Also check and make sure that sub will even like being in there. Some factory subs are just mounted free air in the back. So check and see if there is an enclosure for the sub. -
make sure a wire isn't shorting out around the wiring harness in back.

hooray, I get to do field work today.

I don't think MTX makes a 6kw amp.

well you don't need a batcap. I'm not a big fan of circuit breakers, why don't they just use a fused distribution block for the power wire? What size wire are they going to use? I also don't know where/how they're going to use 5 ring terminals. They should only need one for one power wire at the battery. Nor how they're going to use two ground distribution blocks, again they should only need one, just like one for the power wire. -
what is she saying? "Vladd do me?"

I think there was garlic in that pickle yesterday, and I think that is what is making my stomach *still* uneasy.

I use winISD as well. It looks ok. Sealed isn't as much of a hassle as ported.
-
do you have the dual 2 or dual 4 ohm voice coils? Since it seems loudness is all you are going for, try a ported box tuned to 35 hz or so. It will be about twice as big as the box they are in now, though.
-
It is safe. The mid and tweeter are on two completely different circuits once the signal gets past the input on the crossover.

yep, another bad night's sleep. Wish I had thursday and friday off this week for fall break like my gf. and dammit, I always come on here in the mornings and read shit instead of eat my cereal and it makes me late to work by 2-3 minutes. Luckily nobody there really watches for me.

With as much distortion as that thing was probably playing I'm surprised you liked it so much
-
Actually, each amp would have seen 2 ohms if he had a dual 2 ohm sub and wired one amp to each voice coil. and Rattlz, thank goodness you know about the gain being there to match the voltage from the head unit. You have no idea how many new people we get on here that have no idea about that. However, matching the gain to the voltage is the maximum you should go with the gain. However, you can always turn it down after that matching to get less power out of the amplifier if it is too powerful for your sub, which it seems to be in this case.

x2. what do you want out of it

just installed a great "budget" system for a friend

Sweet, I didn't know they would like that little space. Did you ever think about covering one of the sub holes so that one 10 would get all the space?
