ok, if you blow up a GAS planet, what debris is going to be raining fire down onto the earth to kill people? And you also realize that it would take several lifetimes for anything to get from there to here, so....... Not to mention that if people think global warming is bad now, wait until we have two suns. Plus living on Titan with Saturn as a sun would be like living on a planet even closer to our sun than Mercury. How would you survive the heat? I don't really know how you can believe that. I wouldn't call the person who did that a god, I'd call him a dumbass.

mounting amps upside down
KU40 replied to lithium's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you can mount them upside down, I just think it would probably be better if you could get some fans to run over them. As I was reading I had the same idea as bigjon about hanging a ledge from the back deck so you could mount them right side up. But then you run into the problems with the top mounted controls. Do you have rear speakers? If not, maybe you could mount them so that the amp controls were right through the rear speaker holes. -
again, there is no bridging. it's a mono amp. bridging occurs between 2 separate channels. I really think you should heed the advice of others on here and drive to a shop where somebody can look at it and hook it up for you.

That's what I meant in my above post. I wasn't doubting you . He just asked again as if he either missed it or didn't understand.

I just saw a poll that said 90% of blacks are voting for Obama. Either blacks are more Democratic by nature/culture or a lot of them are just excited about having a black person on the ballot. He also has about 75% of Latinos. *not being racist, just stating what I see* Mccain, though, has like 70% of the 65+ age group. I guess they identify with him. And I think he only leads the white vote by by 1%, 46-45 or something like that.

I've heard headaches can also be caused by a bra that's too tight. Is yours too tight, Aaron?

That is actually incorrect. Regulated power supplies routinely double rated power for every halve in impedence. What regulated power supplies do is provide a constant output no matter what the input voltage is. So that JL 1000/1 is going to put out 1000 watts no matter if your car's voltage is at 14, 12, 10, etc. It will just pull more current when the voltage is low to keep the output power the same. An unregulated power supply, on the other hand, changes output power in relation to input voltage. So that memphis may put out 900 watts at 10 volts, 950 at 12 volts, and 1000 at 14 volts.

Need Ideas on A Nice Amp For under $300 to power a 12" BL

Jim does too. At least I'm pretty sure he puts smiley faces in about 98% of his posts, haha. -
it doesn't matter, it's a mono amp. Those two outputs are wired together right inside the terminals. You can use any of them.

It's kind of hard to tell tones from text... alot of people don't relise this when they are sarcastic or joking... Most sarcasm is taking from the tone of which you say, same with joking I know I probably should. I've actually been told that my sarcasm and jokes are hard to pick up in real-life conversations because my visible and audible emotions don't change much. So I'm sure that carries over to online, too. Which, I don't know if that is the mark of a good sarcastic/joke remark or a bad one. hmm..... -

All right, very good. Just don't want to have any kind of feud! -
Watch out for Michael Crabtree in the NFL. His hands are glue. And as Texas found out, it doesn't matter if you double cover him either.

I certainly respect them after last week.

I guess I'm retarded like , but what is this round table I hear about?

I appreciate your comments, and I know I sound crazy, as most people haven't done any research. Do you work for the government though? Cause I"d like to know how you know the level of technology they are at now, they seem to hide it from regular people. Are you referring to the visible military technology currently in use? I watched a discovery channel show about laser guided bullets. Which bombs are you talking about, the ones used in 1942? I didn't mean to offend you with my comment. I do think it's a bit of a silly conspiracy, but most all of us have some crazy thing we believe in, don't we? I do work for the government, but at the state level . So no, I don't truly know the limit of the technology in weapons that we now have. But.....I just don't think it could happen, because of the limit on the number of bombs we could physically have, the astronomical odds that they could bomb everybody basically simultaneously, and why anybody would actually want to do it. I mean, I believe that the earth has become overly crowded with humans and sometimes think we'd be better off if something like 90% of the population disappeared, but I would never actually think it could or would be done, or advocate it happening at all.

yeah, MKader and M5 understood correctly. I was applauding your for carrying over the other threads and deducing that he was probably going to take whatever we suggested and multiply it by 3. Let me know if I'm wrong, but it seems you have held a distaste for me since I made a comment in jest in another thread about the large rims causing the rattle that the guy was experiencing on his trunk lid. Yes I think having rims over 20" big on a car is ridiculous, but it was a joke and obviously I know rims don't cause trunk noise. -
3 BTL 12" Need ideas on inexpensive, but good amps, and also anot
KU40 replied to obcaraudio's topic in General Audio
I wish I could remember. It was probably 5-6 years ago. Which also means it was on an older mic that's not as stiff as the new TL, but still, 170 is good regardless. Maybe somebody else knows who I'm talking about. It was in extreme class, and I think he had an 18" in there and did like a 172, then switched it out for a 10 and still did 170. I didn't make it up, I assure you. But I'm not even sure which forum I heard about it on (and saw the video of it). -

hahaha. Maybe you should research who you're talking to before spouting off insults. I've seen a 170 off of a single 10 (that wasn't a solox), so 156, 165, whatever. eh. and......I'm pretty sure there is no fiberboard "specially made" for the solox. any properly built box made with generic 3/4" MDF would sound the same. But you also have to take into consideration what the box that they design will do for your music. If they tune it to 45-50 hz, sure it'll be loud. But it'll sound like crap at anything other than an SPL competition. So you have to ask yourself if you'd rather have 365 days of decent sounding bass or 362 days of crappy sounding bass with 3 good days at soundoff comps thrown in? and if they tune it to something reasonable, like 32 hz, you won't be hitting 165 db, regardless of if they have magic fairy dust wood. COME TO CHAMPAIGN ILLINOIS AND I WILL PROVE U WRONG!! THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN SOUND I know you're on vacation from here for a little while, but since you think this fiberboard is so awesome, tell me what the F stands for in MDF or HDF? How is your fiberboard any different than that? ok, it may be thicker, but if I glued three 3/4" MDF pieces together, I'd have 2.25" of fiberboard. and since you don't even know anything about this fabled fiberboard other than that's in general what it is and the thickness, you have no legs to stand on. any properly braced box should sound the same. Once the box is acoustically dead, there is nothing else to do. -
So how is this supposed bombing supposed to take place? There are not enough conventional bombs in existence to cover the surface. Think about it. A 1000 pound bomb maybe has a kill radius of..........300 feet? Think about the size of the US and how spread out people are. That would literally take millions of those bombs placed every 500 feet apart to kill everyone. How is that going to happen? Using nuclear bombs would be utterly retarded and worthless, because the people living underground would never be able to come back to the surface due to nuclear fallout.

My advice is find something you like to do, and do it. If you like to ride a bike, do that. If you like to run on a treadmill, do that. There are many ways to do cardio workouts (which along with a much better diet will help you the most), but don't force yourself to do something you don't like because it will sap your motivation quickly. and stick to a schedule for going to the gym. You have to be disciplined enough to overcome those days when you don't feel like going. IMO, you just need to get your heart rate up and keep it up. Lifting weights is ok, but don't make that the focal point of your workout. But fixing your diet is basically as much of the deal as getting to the gym. Mcdonalds, pepsi, and alcohol are all bad when trying to lose weight if not consumed rarely. Cut down your portions as well on everyday things you eat. If you eat two sandwiches for lunch (like I do), try cutting it down to one sandwich and a granola bar. Only take one helping at supper. etc. etc., you know. If you need to go to the store to just get a few things, ride your bike. Sometimes if I just need fruit or sandwich supplies for lunch or something, I'll strap on a backpack and ride the 5-mile roundtrip to the grocery store. I make the distance longer by cutting through the nice neighborhoods instead of staying on the 4 lane big road because that makes it more enjoyable and safer to boot. This may be tough for you in Canada now that winter is upon us, but maybe there will be nice enough days sometimes.

KU40 replied to obcaraudio's topic in General Fi
Good detective logic there. But again I think it's the wrong way to approach the problem. Why get 3 amps when you can get one to put power to all 3 subs? (Like a Sundown 3000D) -
2- or 3-way and the "best" sub size for integration w. 6.5&q
KU40 replied to buggsson's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
my 15 integrates very well with my front stage. It's really a lot more about crossover points and box alignments than the size. Do you know where you'd put all the speakers if you went 3-way? Would you go active or passive in either case? Either setup can sound better than the other. But a properly set up 3-way generally has more potential to sound better if the tuning is done correctly. -
I'd agree with manbeer, an Icon would do great in a sealed box.
