Everything I've heard from independent economists say that the bailout won't work, when it does it'll be to late and all it'll do is drive inflation. One of them had a good quote though. All economy models are wrong, but some are useful. It did not work in the past for the US. It did not work for Japan when they tried it. But apparently it will work this time since we are using money we don't have. Plus I did a little digging, and talked some with our financial advisor, and all this BS about this is the worst it has been since the '20's is such a lie it is not even funny. Just back in the area of 1973-1974 it was worse then it is now, but I guess they think the population either has forgotten it, or enough were not around to experience it. So this constant pushing of the USA being on the verge of an apocalypse is really making me angry. I think that the bailout is mostly stupid. The US is not going to spiral into a pit of nothing. Just let it reset itself. The marketplace has its own system of checks and balances, and the speculative/risky/etc. part was just getting out of balance with the basic stuff like services. People will always need certain things, and those industries will never go completely out of business. We just have to settle back down there and regroup every once in a while. I mean let's be honest, EVERYBODY can't be getting returns on their investments over inflation rates. Otherwise everybody would always be getting richer, relatively. That's not how capitalism works. Economists and philosophers 100, 200, even 1000 years ago realized these things, and realized that society goes in cycles, whether it be with government, social, or economics. Why is it so many people have forgotten this? Or did they just never learn? The damage is already done. I don't think it will get much worse, although we may stay fairly even for a while. And yeah, it's not as bad as the 20's and 30's. I don't know as much about the 70's, but I would imagine if people were waiting in lines for gas for hours that things would be quite a bit worse right now.

you have two but only want to use one? What's your budget on the amp? How big can the box be (dimensions)?
-
the gain is not a volume knob. You could be getting all 1328 watts at half gain. You could even be past that and into clipping at half gain.
-
There is no set limit that an enclosure can be off. It all depends on what sound you want from the enclosure. Otherwise, you can have a company recommend, say, 5-10 cubes for an 18. So if you built the enclosure 10 cubes and wanted it to be 5, you're 100% off, but it's still technically ok. But even then, you can build an enclosure 11 cubic feet and not have it be wrong if the sound it produces is what you were looking for.
-
I don't understand what you mean. Can you post a picture or make a diagram or something? How many cubic feet is your box, what are the exact port dimensions (height, width, and length), and what were they supposed to be?

stupid f'ing Missouri douchebags.

Very nice. It could do a little better on the lows, 35 hz and down, but that may just be because I'm used to a ported 15.

hard hitters? Like and ?

Oh, is it an annual thing there?
-
Looks like it'll burn.

This has been done a few times before. Cool though.

The sub doesn't push any power. Other than that, it'll work.
-
wow that port calculator, while nice, is very liberal. It said I would have needed 80 sq. inches for my 15" SI D2. I built my box with about 45 and it was fine.
-
Here's one: 8 cubic feet (after port and sub displacement), 80 sq. inches of port, 19" long. that gives you 32 hz. port displacement- a little under 1 cube (dependent on how you make it, of course), sub displacement- 0.23. So make it about 9.2 cubes total. 22.5" long port gives you a tune of 30 hz. I'll let you figure out displacement if you do that.
-
No, it doesn't mean that. The amp is rated for 1600 watts. The sub- 1000. Even if the amp only did half of its rated power, 800 watts, a hard clip could double that, back to 1600, and still blow the sub.

I think that only happens if you bury it in the pet cemetary.

Moved since this has nothing to do with Sundown.

Image Dynamics IDQ 31 question

True SQ'ers don't have rear speakers. -
So he says it's treatable but never reveals the treatment. Although it seems that he found out his own treatment by the end of the night- sticking your finger up there! Seems to work. Oh that reminds me of a story that one of my friends told (during supper at the dorms, no less). He said one of his high school buddies was dating the principal's daughter. One night he was doing her up the butt at her parents' house, in her dad's office. They were supposed to be away, but apparently came home early. The dad walks in, sees this happening, and throws up. Apparently the guy wanted to get one last thrust in after that happened, and apparently he hit a nerve (or whatever happened to that guy in the other story) and she had a....bowel movement. I bet that was weird.
