I'm hoping that means 'dominated'.... Yes sir it does. that's good you think of it that way, because to other people it means a blowjob.

Just be careful with this, most of the time the problem isn't space available in the trunk, it's the size of the opening into the trunk and if the box will fit through the opening. If it won't, your only option is to build it in-trunk, but that's more effort. So how... extactly do i find this out...? lemme guess... theirs some sort of math involved huh? well the first step involves a tape measure and knowing how to pull the tape out and read the numbers. Then you measure how wide the trunk opening is at its most narrow point (usually down next to the bumper). Then you measure the height of the trunk from the floor to the underside of the back deck. Once you have those, you know the limits on the width and height of the box. The depth can be tricky to gauge because you can slide the box in a little bit. For this part it may be best to figure out some box size measurements then build a mock-up with cardboard to see if it'll fit. or at least something with the height and depth the same, it doesn't matter if the width is the same in the mock-up because that one is the easiest to tell.

Thanks that helps me a lot... now someone told me that i should set my LHP around the same Hz as my box. What would that do? nope they were probably talking about your ssf (subsonic filter- this ensures that you dont kill ur sub with freq below port tuning) like he said set your lpf..low pass filter to somewhere blow 100hz i set mine around 100 since you your sub to play bass in its range a sub's normally 20 - 100 , its all preference set it to where your music's enjoyable..btw ..do you knw how to set ur gains ?? Yea ive been reading a lot of different things about the gains, but what do u say about it, and some people been tellin me that the HPF Should be set as low as it go which is around 20Hz because that puts words playin through the sub, but some people on here say to set it around 28 - 30 Hz. What could u tell me about that. Those people don't know their highpass from their lowpass. your subsonic filter is a highpass, then there is a separate lowpass crossover on the amp. if you have that lowpass off or set too high (higher than a few hundred hz), then you'll hear voices through the sub. The subsonic should be set to 25-30 hz. Nobody I know can sing at 25 hz, ha.

haha that's funny.

i'm batting a 1000 so far, but damn wku vs il is about to change that..lol..damnit. next round is going to be the big upsets i think...maybe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I picked western kentucky! Just like last year. But my other upset pick, Miss. St over washington, fell through. 14/16 so far, not awful. Too bad you missed out on the million dollar prize for the perfect bracket. You'd think, statistically speaking, that somebody would have to get it eventually. But the odds are pretty low and I've never heard of it happening. In fact the odds would be .5^64, which is about .00000000000000000005, or 5 in fifty trillion million I think. Well, maybe the bracket sponsors are pretty safe with their million dollars after all, ha.

Well yeah it is. I would just hope you'd aspire to greater things than sandwich making. Which, somebody has to do, I understand. I'm thankful for them whenever I go into Subway. But whenever I see a middle-aged person behind the counter (which happens probably 75% of the time for me), I just can't help but think about how they're getting by.

Well the crossover won't completely stop frequencies outside of the crossover point from playing. It's not a brick wall to the frequencies, it's just a slope. So it'll be quieter outside of the crossover range but still play.

What's your budget?

I could never work in the food industry either.

Indeed. and if you're only planning on one 3000d for the pair, you really don't need to get the BTLs fully loaded. You can save some money by not getting some options I think.

I'm glad you're satisfied with the job that keeps you below the poverty line. At least you won't be disappointed much in life.

I was driving behind a Corsica today and I noticed something chained to the ball hitch. Upon closer review I found out it was the muffler, which would drag on the ground otherwise. haha. A car not only with a ball hitch but with the exhaust chained to it, that's about as redneck as it gets, ain't it?

I don't know anything about AQ subs. I don't think they're as quality as Fi though.
-
well since that amp is the same as a Hifonics......yeah he pretty much is.
-
That thinking is way too general. For instance, if you bridge a 2 channel class A/B amp at 4 ohms to get 1000 watts, you'll be pulling more power than a class D amp will at 1 ohm making 1000 watts because the A/B amp is likely about 30% less efficient than the D.

Unless you got scammed by the seller and he sent them to you with them damaged and lied about the recent recone. Ask him for the receipt from DD.

I think sub up port back works best in those hatchbacks.

check for air leaks in the box

it is said that a 3db change is around the perceptible difference threshold for us.

stupid. I say let them starve on too little meal money. Obviously would do them some good, maybe they'll live longer.

Can I use 12 gauge wire instead of 4 gauge?
KU40 replied to tripslipfall's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
for 1500 watts I'd go larger than 4 gauge. I'd do 2 or even 1/0. and please don't run 40 runs of 12 gauge. Just do it right and buy larger wire, save up for a month if you have to. Also, skip the cap and upgrade the battery. Larger battery will be 100 times more effective than a cap. -
Yeah. Theoretically, 2 subs on the same power should gain 3 db (doubling cone area but not doubling power).
-
Check the engine seals the 2.8 was prone to losing both of them and they aren't trivial to replace. I think they became better in 1998 but don't quote me on the years as it isn't in a range that I ever looked at. **my least favorite color for that car** I agree. green, ick.

theoretically, 3 db. You get 6 db by doubling woofer cone area and power (so from one 12 with 500 watts to two 12s with 1000 watts), so you should get 3 by doubling cone area but not power. But real life doesn't always play by theoretical rules so we can't be totally accurate in predictions.
