I don't really understand why this is such a big holiday in America. Why do/should we care when Mexico won a battle against the French? It isn't even a federal holiday in Mexico. Plus the mexicans still lost the war with the French and were occupied shortly thereafter.

native resolution is the ONLY setting you should ever use on an LCD. I see why that is now.

You'll want to set the subsonic around 25 hz and the lowpass somewhere between 60 and 80 hz, depending on how low your interior speakers can play effectively.
-
To elaborate, most music (like the rap song mentioned) have their "lows" in the mid 30s to mid 40s hz. For those, you just want to tune your box to 30-35 hz. However, lows in movies and games are down in the teens. For that you most likely want a sealed box, or can sometimes get away with a ported box tuned to 15 hz or something. So as you can see, the desired box for one is not even close to the desired box for the other. And, for that matter, totally different subs are also normally desired for the two applications. The kickers may be ideal for the vehicle application because they like to play at 40-50 hz. But play them down at 12 hz and they'll be begging for mercy. However, put something designed for in-home use or at least have better parameters for such application, such as the Dayton, and you'll get much better results. Also, it's pretty hard to compare subs in a vehicle to one in a house. In a vehicle you have cabin gain and a LOT less air to compress. Your home has none of this. Two 12s with 500 watts will always be louder in a vehicle than in home.

Oh, forgot to share: I passed my fundamentals of geology exam! I thought I was on the fence so I was super excited to see a certificate come in the mail. Glad I didn't have to retake, it costs $250. And I heard only 55% of people pass the test. So now I'm an intern geologist. After two more years at my job I can take the practice of geology exam and become a licensed Geologist. Then I pretty much get the run of the mill at jobs.

My finance class teacher allowed one sheet. Her tests were easy anyways though. I had an A and didn't have to take the final.

My new 19" LCD screen is awesome, much better than the one in my laptop. The resolution is 1440x900. Though for some reason if I try any resolution less than that things get a little fuzzy. Glad this resolution looks the best anyways. Can't wait to watch porn for the first time.

Nothing will keep up with two 15s right behind your head. Turn them down and balance with the front stage, then you'll have it.

I've never had the pleasure. Never been fishing in saltwater. Someday......

I suppose so. I like catfish pretty well too. Well, eating them. If I catch them I kick them back into the water.

The bass boost is still a boost, not a gain.

He didn't use something to cover the wire, he replaced the wire with a larger gauge.

It's obviously better than below. But you need a BL. The sub will need to handle the abuse you will undoubtedly send it.

By the way, Florida was awesome. We stayed in Destin, which is between Pensicola and Panama City. Insanely beautiful and perfect fine white sandy beach, which was the host of the wedding I went to. I got way too sunburned the first day. I think the tops of my feet may have gotten 2nd degree burns. My left foot swelled a bit and is just now starting to go down. My shoulders and back got pretty red too. Oops. I've put aloe vera gel on about......13 times since Friday. I ate grouper for the first time, and it is now my new favorite fish.

I got my computer in ridiculous time from Dell and now I have it set up! I got an email saying it was expected to be delivered on May 5th. Imagine my surprise when I was getting ready for my trip to Florida last Thursday (April 30) and a deliveryman comes up to my door and delivers it! Only 4 days after I custom ordered it. Took me an extra day to set up my wireless because I accidentally downloaded the wrong wireless adapter model's drivers from Linksys's site and I didn't figure it out until after a frustrating hour and a give-up for the day.

I'd choose the IA LIs.

You ask in the Fi forum and expect any answers other than BTL?

You have to stay on topic now, what are you DoInG?!?! You can't trail off topic and try to help him or else you'll be asked to stop helping him forever.... F**k you dude. Your just sour cause I told you off. Relax. He was helping you by suggesting your settings must be off. Namely your gain.

If by "magnet" you imply the whole motor and not just the actual magnet, I'd say the second most is the coil and what kind of configuration its in. Because really the motor and coil have to interact correctly to get desired results. You can't have an awesome coil but bad motor mated to it and have an awesome sub, and vice versa.

You also have to realize the differences in amplifier topologies. So you can't compare a 2 channel class A/B amp with a mono class D amp. Those A/Bs are made to run at 4 ohms but the D's are made for 2 or 1 ohm and will put out less power at 4 ohms. There are only a few amplifiers designed to have the same power output from 1-4 ohms. So if you are talking specifically about those amps, higher impedances are better. But if you start comparing A/B to D, the difference in topology will have a much greater effect on the properties than the impedance will. For example, my old Crossfire BMF1000D was more efficient, had lower THD, higher dampening factor, etc. when it put out 250 rated watts at 4 ohms than it did putting out 1000 watts at 1 ohm. But it put out less power. So if you want 1000 watts, running at 4 ohms just to get better specs would be pointless. Not to mention that a lot of these properties are lost on subwoofers and are more prevelant on mids and tweeters.

The extra slug is not it, at all. In fact the new BTL has only one slug. And as for power, that is enclosure-dependant. How much power do you think the 12" BTL would need to get to full xmax in a 15 cubic foot box? But I agree that perhaps he should downgrade to a couple Qs or SSDs and less power (maybe 1500 watts for both). If he isn't prepared for the electrical upgrades that are likely required for his little car, he'll end up damaging some amplifiers or his alternator/battery.

ah, interesting. Good feature for some people.
-
So you're going back to AQ after your problems with their amps before?
-
Yeah those things generally do need huge boxes. That's how they can be so loud with such little power. I don't know what Bassahaulic is talking about with 15,000 watt amps. There's no reason for those. All you need is a 150 x 2 at 4 ohm, class AB amp. Those normally do 600 x 1 bridged at 4 ohms, which would be 300 x 1 bridged at 8 ohms. That would be perfect for those speakers. Basically every manufacturer makes an amp like that.
