Some of them turn on when they sense a signal through the RCAs. But Sundown isn't one of those.

Do a search on this forum, it has been brought up several times before. You'll find much info in old threads.

First and foremost, he is confusing impedance and resistance. The impedance of each coil is 2 ohms, but the resistance is about 1.4 ohms. That's why when you wire in parallel you'll get 1 ohm impedance, 0.7 ohms resistance (aka DCR). You should probably find somebody who knows the difference between the two before you let them work on installing the equipment. As for voltage dropping too low, can't really tell before it goes into the car and you monitor it firsthand. But with a 120 amp alternator I think you'll be ok unless you play it for extended periods with the car off or at idle.

Haven't been on since last week because I was out of town all weekend plus the last two days. Last Friday I did (trying to remember): Bench press tricep pushdowns decline bench military press Tricep dips About 40 pushups Ab work

Don't turn the head unit volume up above ~3/4 of its max. Or if you want to be exact, get an oscope and look.

Re-coil kit for JL 12 W6 D2 dual 2 ohms voice coil?
KU40 replied to Blown JL12W6's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If JL won't give you a recone kit, they may not make them. Call a dealer store and ask. If a dealer can't get them either, you're SOL I'm afraid. Fi or others may be able to recone it, but it won't perform nearly the same because it will be totally differently-spec'd soft parts than what came stock with the sub. -
What would I need?
KU40 replied to SentraGuy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hook it all up and see if the voltage drops to 12 or below. If it does, you need more electricity. -
dialing in my us amps xt1600.2....please help!
KU40 replied to AndrewBR98's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
No. You increase the chance of blowing the subs with that. Your door speakers don't have highpass crossovers on them, do they? Get some. Then you can turn the bass level on the headunit to 0 like it should be and things will be better. -

Just run a wire somewhere else. -
Today I did: Squat 45* donkey calf raises seated leg curl Leg Press + calf presses Step-ups holding weights onto about 1.5' tall platform Lunge dips Ab twists on cables 3 miles on bike about as fast as I could go, steady 100 rpm for ~11 minutes

The gf is coming back tomorrow after 3 weeks in Ohio. I gotta shake off this distress from the last few days to perform. Or maybe it'll be great and help me work off stress. Speaking of stress relief, trying to motivate myself to go to the gym now. I'm pretty tired. But I should go. The last time I went was.......shoot like Saturday.

Oh snap! Dont u live in an apartment? Where did u have it at? Yeah. It was on my back porch. I didn't have anywhere to enclose it. I'm so full of rage I'm not sure how I'm going to work today. Sleep last night definitely wasn't the greatest. Woke up for an hour at a time a couple times, just watching my back porch light and listening to my apartment actually hoping somebody would show up so that I could beat the fuck out of them. I had two dreams and both were about it. I live in about the nicest part of the city, nothing out here is more than 10-12 years old. I thought I would be away from that shit. is it sort of a fenced in porch? Unfortunately no. Just recessed into the side of the building to a sliding door that goes to my bedroom. They didn't take my smoker, and that thing's much easier to carry. hmm.

You know, the best place for a thief is in the newer, nicer apartment buildings. Easy access (it is just a byproduct of apartment life) and the quality of the items are far better then they are in the hood. Yeah, quite unlikely to find a $400 grill behind any house in the hood. One of the MANY reasons I hate apartments. However, I had no choice really since I have been trying to save money for a real house. Figured I'd bite the bullet for 2-3 years to be in better position then.

KU40 replied to AndrewBR98's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Here is a lot of your problem I bet. Set this to flat (0). What you were doing with that was cutting the signal at the head unit, then using the bass boost on the amp to effectively try and ramp it back up. -

Kinda OT, but what is the Bass EQ good for then? Seems like it's pretty pointless? Marketing to unknowing young'uns. To the OP, turn the bass EQ all the way down. Turn the low pass filter to around 70-80 hz, and if it has a subsonic, turn that to 28 hz or so. I imagine that amp has a switch for high pass/low pass crossover? Make sure it's on low pass. Are the RCAs from the head unit on a dedicated sub output? Does the head unit have a subwoofer level control setting (like 0-15, etc.)? -
What is the tuning frequency
-
It will make noise. Power handling will be very reduced in the larger box, though, so lower the gain accordingly or else you're not going to have any subs.
-
Maybe 60-70% of whatever you paid for it.
-
Basically every recone costs 80-100. I actually haven't seen many if any cheaper than that.
