Just make sure you purchase an agm battery.. And your gonna wanna get one with the most amp hours possible a group 31 would be good if you could fit it

An alternator is the backbone to a good system it charges the batteries but it can only do so much. With the little amount of reserve power you have and considering your battery might be reaching the end of its life. Mike is right as I told you before about hooking a ground wire up to the ground post on the alternator. As far as damaging the alternator I am certain you wont and plus he does off a lifetime warranty which is very nice

my alternator charges at 14.8 when cold and drops to 14.4 when hot but the regulator will sometime even drop it to 14

your terminals look pretty corroded. It all depends do you play the system with the car off? do you check the fluids in the battery regularly? An AGM battery stands for absorbed glass mat basically its better in all applications... and your low pass being set at 200hz is very high in my opinion

Your Singer Alternator should have a ground post on it you can ground that one straight to the chassis or frame? The internal regulator on your alternator probably charges at 14.5 when cold and like you said 14.1-14.2 when hot which isn't bad. The internal regulator will fluxuate what it charges at. Considering your Battery is only resting at 12.5 I would say look into purchasing an agm battery. Keeping your resting voltage up will guarantee optimal performance. When you installed the alternator did you drop your belt size an inch? And did mike send you a smaller pulley at all? show some pics of the alternator

the other day I shipped an amp out to someone in my own box. the lady at the ups store asked me if my box and the contents inside could survive a 6 foot drop so I could only imagine what they do

if your alternator is a 130a its only putting half that at idle.... do you play the system with car off? I would try charging your current battery before purchasing a new one... what does it rest at now? -
New Q 12 barely plays and bottoms out on low volume
muddybass replied to Chris Duncan's topic in Fi Technical
I think you should take everything out and restart your build... DIY its cheaper... Take the sub out check the surround first because that is the most common place it becomes un-glued.... car audio is all about trial and error eventually you will figure it out -
contact singer alternators and you will never have a problem

i have a wierd problem i just installed o ga wire under the hood for the big 3 and now i have a really bad ground problem like i hear when i hit the brake pedal even the turning signal and cant understand it. i grounded it to the frame and vehicles factory location also sanded them to bare metal... and just the other day now if i turn it up to a certain volume it sounds like the woofer flop or play out of tune thats why i was thinking it might be the rca's any help appreciated.... i run 2 12'' q's on a everest soundlabs prototype amp box is 5 cuft and tuned to 30hz
