I got my head gasket fixed a couple weeks ago, and I really don't think I'm going to do anything to the car just yet. I need to make sure it's going to be healthy before I drop money where I don't need it. I bought it at the end of August and am already about $1300 in repairs....sigh.

I have some for sale in a thread on DIYMA under the same S/N. Looking into that!

Should I ?

I got my 880 for $225 shipped. -
If you have to, make a mock box out of cardboard. It's cheap, wouldn't take all that long, and will guarantee it will fit.
-
Follow Fi's recommendations for the box. How big is the trunk opening? Remember the box has to fit in the trunk!

Is there every a time when it is a complete 'no-no' to reverse polarity? Or is it just a different sound? (Obviously, I have never done this.)

What coil option you want will be dependent on what amp you are using. If you want a 1ohm load, get the D2 and wire it in parallel. If you want a 2ohm load, get the D1 and wire it in series. There is a nice tool on www.the12volt.com which does the wiring for you. What amp are you running/plan on running?
-
Size isn't everything. If you do a proper install on 2 12" subs vs. a shotty job on 1 18", it could easily out perform it.
-
The Jackhammer is a 22" sub from MTX. It's really expensive ($7000?) and rather gimmicky. If you wanted to go that big, look into Incriminator Audio Death Penatly 21".

Is that battery in the rear sealed?
-
Alright, thanks Nick. If my buddy does decide to recone, what is the paypal I sent the money to?
-
I don't have any thing in my 'new' car yet (except Pioneer 880), because it's been breaking too much. I have a 10" Icon right now waiting to be installed though. Edit: The only reason I got rid of the Q was to help pay for my new car. Absolutely loved the sub.
-
Do you already have the subs?
-
Back on topic. I think that, if it will fit, 2 15" subs will fit what he is looking for.
-
It's [email protected]. The sub is a D2 12." It's not big deal, I know you're all very busy. Thanks! (Could you also send a price for a D1 recone) Edit: 16365 zip

Make sure you post on here when you are ready to sell some of them. I see quite a few I wouldn't mind having!
-
What headunit will you be running?
-
You're going to have to contact someone who sells them. Some companies include, Ohio Generator, Powermaster, Iraggi, Excessive Amperage, Mechman, and I believe Knu Konceptz is doing some.
-
I highly doubt you'll be able to get a 4' logo for $20.
-
I'm aware, but I did email Nick two weeks ago. I know they are busy, I understand it completely.
-
I've emailed Nick, Scott, and the recone address I was forwarded. No reply yet, just wondering if you're getting my emails at all.

Im with him. Not to be an ass but because he cant even drive yet. It's great to have goals and plans, but no way in hell is this kid gonna drop a few grand on a system when he's 14. I had my first stereo installed in my car before I had my license. It's his money to do what he wants to with it. Back on topic. Remember that the box has to fit THROUGH the trunk opening, which I doubt is possible for an 18" in a trunk. I guess it is possible, but it will be tough. Why doesn't he consider 2 bad ass 12's?
-
I think you might be biting off more than you can chew. Is it a wagon or a sedan?
-
Welcome!

Active you can actively adjust the crossover points be it at the amp, the HU, or an external processor. A component set it passive.
