Just ordered my Dcon

Okay, called the rear panel off today, as I can't make myself happy with it yet. Starting the speaker box now, but have a few questions for Mark.
-
It's nice today. I'm going to get pictures of the false floor in the truck, get the rear wall done, and maybe start on the sub box.
-
I would assume he pressed the button more because it wasn't loading.
-
Fortunately for me, space was not an issue as it was completely unused in my truck. Here is a rough sketch of my bracing technique I'll be using:
-
**I already had a plunge router, but it's kind of a junky one. Master Mechanic. I finished up my amp hole covers tonight, and they turned out good! Unfortunately I have to let my camera charge. Pics in the morning, but I'll hopefully have detailed sketch up of my box done tonight!

Was the Porter Cable plunge router alot more? Can't wait for more Pics. Yes. About $175 more. The reason being is that it came with the plunge, the fixed, and a D-handle attachment.
-
Probably too tired to be messing with power tools, but I'm going to anyways. Pictures in a bit! **If it's nice out tomorrow, I'm going to fabricate my new rear cab panel.

Those Aurasounds are going to be nassssssty.

Use two pieces to double the thickness. I've never FG before, but I've spent a few hours on www.fiberglassforums.com and I now feel confident that I have the skills necessary. It's not going to be perfect my first time through, but you have to learn somewhere!

I want Aaron's avatar on a shirt. -
Reconing is a piece of cake. I just bought the recone kit for my buddy, read an article or two and set off. Basically you're going to cut the soft parts out and pull the basket off. Glue and screw the new basket. The only difficult part is figuring out how to shim your voicecoil the first time you do it. I used big index cards.

Bought a new fixed base Porter Cable router today. Same plan as originally, but I'll be recessing the amp covers with a rabbiting bit. Pics tomorrow.

Fiberglass. Lay down a mold, pull that off and do your whole thing like that. Make it so you can bolt it back to your door.
-
The rear of my truck, where the jump seats normally would be in a Ranger, is empty. So its contoured to fit over the driveline hump and another hump back there. If it wasn't raining today, I would get a picture of it mounted in there.

They are 80mm Coolermaster case fans for PC's. I'll be wiring them up to my remote wire with a relay so when the amps kick on, so do the fans. I was going to use a temperature sensitive controller, but decided to save the cost.
-
I use them for everything Helps when you have a Fast N All down the road!
-
Okay, long over due: And this is where I'm routing my wires through: Tonight I also got covers for the amp holes made. I also rounded off the corners on some of the sides. No pics of either yet, as I'm not completely happy with them.
-
Do they have to be earbuds? I would recommend a set of cans ANY day of the week over ear buds.
-
Enjoy your stay!

Good progress made in the past two days. Pictures in a bit.

I think that all depends where you buy it. Here it's about $27 for a sheet of MDF vs $60 or so for a sheet of nice ply. Big difference, but in my opinion completely worth it.
-
I'm using this right now. It's better in every single way. Absolutely, 100%. It does weight less, but I'm not sure how much. It's much easier to cut for you and your tools. There is no NASTY MDF dust flying around. It's just better in every single way. I used to buy the MDF because of the price difference, but in my opinion the price is worth it.

Ugh. That would have been convenient had I had these plans of fans earlier. I would have had you bring them up...lol
