On the cone, or the dustcap?
-
My Mother did that, and it worked wonders for her. The food isn't half bad either! (We all had to 'diet' with her. )
-
They are inverted too, so that does cut down on some space.

If you plan on running that amp, you might want to look at a lower line of woofers. That amp will work, but there's no sense in running two woofers that can handle 2,000w EACH and only put 500w to them. Don't get me wrong, it will work, but you could save some money and get something better suited.

Say when you set your gain your head unit was on a volume setting of 20/40. You crank your volume up to 30/40, chances are you're well into clipping there, thus sending more power and frying it.
-
I think that's the problem.
-
You might not always hear it. You need to set your gains accordingly and not push it farther then it's meant. Speakers have RMS ratings for a reason. When you clip the signal you are actually over powering the driver. I don't know the technicalities about it, but I believe you are sending roughly twice the power when you pitch a square wave vs. a sine.
-
That is very impressive for a SINGLE 8" driver!
-
The ohm load has nothing to do with it. It's the amount of power you sent to it. You probably got a little happy with the volume knob, ended up clipping the signal, and poof! Too much power burnt it up. You will need a recone. Did the cone crumble??? Take some pictures if you have a camera available. I'd like to see this.

Captain Maturity strikes again. My roommate always looks at me kinda funny when I just randomly laugh out loud at my computer. Sean, this is usually your fault.

I've seriously thought about it, the only reason I haven't yet is I was planning on having 5.1 with the iva-w505 and pxa-h701 when I play dvd's. The kids dig watching movies when we go on a trip and that would be cool, HT in the car heheheh. I might just have to cave on that though...undecided. You know the kids are going to think that there is a monster trying to break out of the trunk watching some movies. lol "Jurassic Park" is high on the list !!! I just need to remember the glasses of water The REAL experience.

Good news Jon. Also, try not to weigh yourself everyday, do it once a week to see more of a change. It may be psychological, but it will help. Stick it out. Have you considered quitting smoking? That would make such a huge difference.

If you call him out, he's going to deny it. Try to ask around and see if anyone knows of anything about it.

Good. Someone needs to protect from BS.

I was looking at that driver. My roommate actually has to go home tonight, so I will go with him and cut some rings out and get pictures tonight!
-
I'll do that Saturday. I don't have ANY tools at school, so I gotta wait till I go home. So in the mean time, could we discuss the midbass? Or would you rather have an idea on the midrange first?
-
I'll crawl in the car with a camera and ruler (no tape measure at school) and try and get some better looks.
-
Here are a few that I found without measurements. I'll post those for now, you let me know what different angles you want and I can make it happen!
-
Tomorrow my roommate is going to let me use his camera to take a picture. I'll do the best I can with that.

I had a girl like that one time, and I thought that I was happy with her. Ended up breaking up with her and I can't express how much better I am now. She doesn't sound like she's worth it. Sounds like she's the one that is going to hold you back. Take a break at least. Get out, meet new people. I've been single for two years since that girl, but I'd rather be single than have her constantly breaking me down.

How hard is it to make popcorn? Third time this year that has been the cause of the fire alarm...

Damn good work. I remember seeing the sketch of this one, should be interesting to see how it performs!

Just had some good old healthy Chinese food.

Between the 1000 and the 1500 I bet you would notice a slight difference. When switching from 600w to 1000w on my Q I figure the difference was negligible.
-
Goal? You probably won't notice a ton of change with an extra 200ish watts per sub. The meter might tell you differently though.
