If you plan on using it to it's full potential, I'd plan on upgrading the front battery, adding two cells to the rear, and the big 3. You may or may not need the new alt (depending on the stock output), but if you have the money go for it!

Wanted : a good LOUD SOUND QUALITY driver.

I vote this option. Save some money and get the Xcon. -
mind me asking what brand of batteries you recommend A great 'bang for your buck' battery is the Deka Intimidator. If you want to spend some more money, definitely go look at Powermaster's batteries.

^^^^That reminded me of this:

If you were looking for a truck around $7000 +/- what would you look for? I had it at a Tacoma or a Ranger, but the T100 popped up local here. Truck truck? Or are you open to other styles of vehicles? Really looking for a truck. Might consider a smaller SUV though. I want something that I can lift a little bit, throw some bigger tires on, and be able to go where ever (within reason) in the woods I want to. I love the 'bird, but I need something more useful and practical right now. So you want to be able to go anywhere in the woods, but do you want to be able to take a road trip in it? My longest road trips are going to be 200 miles, maybe. As for the general idea, you've got it. I don't plan on doing SERIOUS off roading. (At the moment..)

Perfect for your needs and price: http://www.autotraderclassics.com/find/veh...ersationId=2574 I should have been more precise on MY definition of practical. I tend to go camping/hiking/woodsing about 2-3 times a week over the summer. I don't want a full out off roading mud machine. I do a lot of manual labor for my relatives and would like a bed. As far as lifting and bigger tires, this is all I really have in mind.

Probably overkill there. BUT if you have extra 8ga laying around and can fit it in, more power to you! You'd be fine with 10 or 12 though.

With what driver? The Shiva? Thanks for the help. The Mag.

Has anyone owned/driven a Toyota T100? I'm thinking about parting with the 'Bird for when I move in the fall, and I'm looking for a small/mid sized truck.

Just a tad too Fast and a little too Furious for my personal tastes. You said it is broken down though? If I misread that, how does it run?

aq1200d question
ABXX49 replied to Johnnymgl's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
First off, calm down. We'll get through this, I promise. The bass knob and gain control are the same thing. The bass boost on the other hand is different. I can assure you to leave this set at zero. You WILL blow your subs if you have that turned up. Before I explain how to set your gain knob, I'll ask if you know how to? Save myself some typing...haha -
I'm at 5.5 cu ft tuned to 25Hz. I find that it works great for both music and movies. It seems to be a happy medium. I do lack some of the output down REAL low and some of the musical bass. It's a sacrifice I made, but I'm very happy.

Awesome!

I believe Dave Edwards was running a 15" Icon in his SQ winning 'Yoda?

The nice thing about a sealed enclosure is that you don't have to worry about playing too low. A sealed box will have a 12db/octave roll off as opposed to a 24db/octave for the ported enclosure. You have to realize too that if you go sealed you WILL lose output. After having both, I prefer a ported box tuned low, as opposed to a sealed. *That is my personal opinion and I know others will disagree.*

Best advice ever given by a father!
-
LOL, if that is what you call lows you have been deceiving us. If that's what you have to compare them too, any one of those subs is going to blow your socks off! Like Sean said, what is it you call lows?

Now get them doors DEAD!

Thanks Adrian! P.S. Your country is beautiful. Every picture you post makes me want to visit there!
-
Do it. I dare you.

"Sounding better" is subjective. You will have people who say ported is better, and people who say sealed is better. It's up to your ears. You can still use that amp. EDIT: I was beat.
-
I don't completely agree with this statement. At all. OP: Before you pick you're woofers you're going to want to pick your amp(s). If you do have your heart set on BTL's, you DO NOT want the SPL option unless it's going to be a burpmobile.

That's sweet! Sorry if you posted this earlier, but who did you get the internship through?
