If you're using MDF, it's a pain. Trust me. First, it needs to be ABSOLUTELY flawless. The slightest mark in the wood ANYWHERE is going to show up in gloss paint. Expect to have a ton of coats on it. I had my buddy paint a HT enclosure for me with automotive grade paint and primer. It took 8 coats of primer before it was ready for paint. Is this the look you're going for?:

Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm assuming 100w per channel at 8ohm? If so, I need this now. haha

Congrats Jake! Anytime you get reduce the size of an amp and still maintain the output power is always a good thing!

Mark will give you an exact, but I'd expect to pay around +/- $100.

Congrats!

I think you know my vote...

Sure, you can buy pre-made crossovers, but is it recommended? Not really. Every vehicle is different, so you'll need to tune accordingly if you're looking for good results.

The Icon is more comparable to the Q series woofer from Fi, in my opinion. Both of those I have owned, and think the Icon has a slight edge.

It's a good question. I'd like to go back and ask the kid to did EVERY SINGLE one of my cuts SHORT by 1/4".

It depends who's running the saw. I had one guy do it for me and COMPLETELY ruined everything. The guy before him was 100% spot on. EXACT. Your best bet is finding someone local to you that does wood working and just pay them to do it.

I did my ENTIRE Ranger. It went from sounding like a roller coaster, to a Cadillac.

Guaranteed to be an excellent build!

I don't think you can get a PR Dcon. Why don't you just port it?

The DC160 are an 8 ohm driver rated at 50 wrms. For the 18 bucks they costed me they really can't be beaten. What are you running for your tweets because that plays a major role in chosing which midbass driver would best suite your needs. The DC160 isn't exactly what I would call a midbass driver. What would you call a midbass driver? Might be a bit more useful if you could give some examples or information. Goto Madisound and look at the frequency response graphs.

Anything you find on the internet as an adapter is going to be cheap flexible plastic, which you DO NOT want. If you can't make them, you're going to have to find someone that can..

That's your choice. I usually ground to the front battery and do the BIG3 in all my installs.

Now now..you both saw it at the same time. One of you just saw it in person.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be ordering my front stage speakers. The amp rack is ALMOST the color of my truck. But I'm happy with it for mixing my own paint by eye.

New Eclipse HU courtesy of Mr. M5. I just had time to play with it today, and it's WAY better than my Pioneer 880 in my opinion. SOOO much easier to use. Welded the amp rack out of thin wall 3/4" square steel tube. Painted with an automotive grade PPG paint. I put the subwoofer box from my last set up in just for some bass. This is NOT how it's going to be finished, lol.
