Ok I have an old Vulcan VIII in the garage and was thinking that it is only 4ohm stable bridged then read something about running a larger fuse for 2 ohm. What is the real deal on these? Thanks! David

Rockford Fosgate, The Punch Classic, 10"

Actually in my attic. I just recently cleared out about 11-12 of my subs I had up there as well. My pride and joy though is Fosgate amp collection. I have the entire line of Punch amps from the tiny Punch 30 up to the Power 1000 including one of the Bipolar Power 360's (about 5-6 are known to still exist). A few of them I have a couple of (like 4 Punch 150's) I also have a pair of Punch amps from around 1980-1981 (Punch 40 and Punch 100 with slider EQ's) and the complete line of 25 to life limited edition Fosgate amps and some of those I have more than one of as well. Forgot to add, I also have a Pair of the Fosgate Pro Series from that time frame as well. One of them had a sagging spider and the basket was slightly bent so I am presently rebuilding it into a 4 spoke basket to make a one of a kind SPP-104. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=32677 -
Rockford Fosgate, The Punch Classic, 10"

The history of the Punch "classics" is that the Punch Woofers (ones I posted pics of) were discontinued and people got pissed. Fosgate started a few other models but people wanted the "Classic" punch subs back (They called them classics because they were classic little subs) Fosgate re-relesed the subs titled "Punch Classic" to settle the people down. So your sub is a classic but based off of my classic "Punch" subs. Fosgate recommended a .75f3^ sealed enclosure for that sub as well as mine. Don't push more than 150-200w rms to it though. -

Man I was soo hoping that this was one of the real "Classics" as i need another one to complete my set. Here is a few pics of my PCH-108's I have 2 in boxes an one without box And since they were mentioned above. Original Solobarics (mint in the box) The old Punch subs cannot be put on the same level as the Solobarics as the Punch are much lower level subs. You could compare the Fosgate Power series though (Not the Pro series that are just a step above the Punch series) -
I have 2 of them but 4 would be great as well on about 1k watts in my beater 4runner.

Nick, are there any X series left?

Congrats!! Time to go hack a certain audio website..

46 lbs I hope!

I just built a pair of these, does that count as new? 10" 12 spoke Fosgate dual 2 ohm HX2's, built from 2 old 12" Hx2s Great sounding little subs! I tested each one on a SD 1200d at 1 ohm. Very nice Xmax and they were shaking the doors in my house freeair!

Best of luck to all of you that played! There was a question in the thread about weights. 1cd= 15grams. 30.23cds= 1lb, FI Q= listed as 46 lbs. answer will be between 1390-1392 and since there are about 3-4 people with 1391 as an answer anyone in that area may win. But the specs of the Q are subject to change based on improvements that Fi has implemented to improve the product since the weight was established. ( I do hope it got a hair lighter though)

Hell when you guys started your shirts I wore it to the Kuwait Towers. First Fi in the Middle East I believe. J Im not on a ship im an Individual augmentee on the ground with the marines and I absolutely think I am entitled to it so go fuck yourself After comments like that , If I were a business owner I would flat out refuse to sell to you. Way to be a professional... It is a good thing there are so many NOT like you that make Marines look good. And as for entitlements, as a marine you are entitles to food water and a bit of cover overhead, entitled to discounts.. Get bent.

Just so you know, I am military also but think about this, How many companies would ship a 46lb monster via US postal to a soldier overseas? NOT MANY! Fi does though. They are alright in my book!
-
My answer is 1390. Q's are pretty damned heavy!

Ok I am runnign the single SD1v2 sealed in my MINI and it sounds great! I also have 4 more and was thinking about running them ported off of a 1000d or a 1200d in my wifes car or my 4runner. Any suggestions for a ported enclosure for 4 of them? I have 2 4" areo's to use, how much airspace for the set? Thanks all! David

Thanks Sir!If I run them common chamber do you think I can get away with running them in about 4.5f3^ or so? Yes since that is the same as 1.5Ft^3 each, just make sure that 4.5Ft^3 is after displacements (subs, port and bracing if any). How can 1.5 x 4 be the same as 4.5? or am I missing something?
