Second Skin Promotion - 10 free Door Packs
Travo-18 replied to Anthony Collova's topic in Second Skin Audio
Is this old? 1. Post your SSA user name Thumper 2. State that you qualify to the terms and agree to follow through with them as they are written above. I agree to the terms as stated 3. Post a description of your car and system 8 AA Havoc 15's walled 4. Post how you plan on helping promote Second Skin including the other web site you will post your build log in. (Rembmer build logs and videos are always better for us) I have many ways to help, such as using my handheld vibration meters for starters in comparison with other products. 5. You must tell us something about yourself that nobody on this forum knows about you I'm one of Colorados loudest!! -
!,240 For some odd reason I thought the Q weighed more oh well

I have 2 40.1's and I intend on strapping them since I will be running 6 15's. Now I did some math and I was only able to come up with this for 6 15's, series 6-D1 coils= .5ohm 6-D2 coils= .7ohm parallel 6-D1 coils= .125 6-D2 coils= .167 Someone please correct it if I'm wrong but I dont think I can strap the amps up in either formation.

what do you mean by The blowthrough hole sealed off from the back? The little gaps betwwen the box and around the hole into the cab. Seal that with foam, so you dont get backwards waves going into the bed of the truck. see the foam?
-
is your blowthrough hole sealed off from the back? Did you sweep it to see where you peak in cab? To measure your coils unplug them from the amp and plug a DMM set to ohms into the leads and check to make sure you get the correct reading DCR. I have a blow-through as well and they are notorious for not hitting big numbers until you tune to the 55~60hz region. Being loud on the mic and loud on the meter are 2 totalyy different things.
-
You could also do 1.33 with the 6-d1s which is .66 per amp & you should be fine. Really? Is that in series or parallel? I think I tried every which way possible. series, series/parallel, parallel.. Care to elborate?

I'm running 6 Fi Q 15's in a 6th order bandpass and I have the best of both worlds.. Low and loud. Saying you cant have it low and loud is a condesending pretext. Bass Raced a 155.9 at 35hz also did a 152 at 29hz with driver door open and mic in the kick just playing around. As everyone knows a meter doesn't necassarily incorprate how "loud" your setup is i.e.; pressure is felt not heard. I know guys that can burp a 160 at 53-62hz but it sounds nothing impressive when playing music. You could also try running the specs through a setup for a 4th order as the lower you go the woofer will rely on the box for its suspension below 25hz.

Travo-18 replied to cameron_B1's topic in Sundown Audio
Thats sick.. I have an 89 1500 bagged and body dropped and can tuck 22's.. can the front lay out flat? It looks like it needs drop spindles and tubular control arms. -
Do you got any wise words of wisdom for someone making their first attempt at a walk through? I have a blow-through but I need bigger so any advice would be helpful man

Just search car audio decals or something alike on ebay.. They are inexpensive and they can make whatever you want and you'll have it within at least 3 days. I got mine in 2 days -

I may have missed it, but how big? I got one off ebay that looks like that. The guy I bought from was cool as hell too. -
I'd coincider them but that price isn't in my ball park range for a 3800watt amp.. Im not bashing cuz them Sundowns are great products all in all.. Im just not a big enough baller to afford that at the moment

Im currently wanting to try something new and I was wanting to know what would be a better choice.. I have 2 5000rms amps for each 12" woofer I intend on using. So Im wanting to a setup with 2 12's and its between the AA Mayhem or the Fi BTL 12".. I dont have any dealers of AA in my area and it don't seem like they do much of the speaker customizing like Fi does... So whats everyones input? BTL 12" vs. Mayhem 12"?
-
I wonder what would look good on my 4 18's
-
Im sure these are pretty much a toss up but to my calculations the AA Havoc has a higher VD rating and therefore would yield more output.. So Im wanting others peoples opnions as well. Im not quite sure what the specs are of a BL with Flatwind and cooling option so I used the specs from the homepage to compare. Also the system is going to consist of 4 12's on 2kwatts if not a little more to each driver.
