uhh did you say Fi as "figh"? everytime ive heard it spoke in person, it was pronounced "eff" "eye". so is it figh or effeye? -
ok cool, how much port area will you have? and you said 4cf net right? 1500w?
-
yeah, true, it does help fitting them in compared to others. but i dont want to lose output because of a smaller box though. ill just have to try it out. i will have about 6cf net to work with, running off a saz3000 (not giving it all of it, but will upgrade to the ns-x later). maybe i should try 4cf instead of 6
-
any reason why 4cf works best with this 18", but others like 6cf or so each? im probably gonig to build my box at 5.5cf and use an 18" when and if i get it, so if i want to change out the sub, i still have a box that other subs work well with. 4cf seems on the small side

Nightshade.. physical similarities between original, and newer

ok, thanks for all the responses. as far as it being a good deal, its under $400 shipped, hasnt been powered since it was re-coned. so, it sounds like a pretty good deal considering its "brand new" either way, ill take it easy on it w/ the sundown 3000, then probably upgrade to the NS-X when it comes out and let all hell loose on it -

Im looking at buying an 18" nightshade, it is brand new, re-coned from Sundown. but the seller doesnt recall whether it has the upgrades done to it, or if its an original stock model. is there any way to physically tell the difference? this will be running of a sundown 3000, so i would like to have the upgrades that can handle the power better. thanks, Cody -

are those 15" nightshades to the right of the 18"s? or what are they? price on 4 shipped?
-
are you able to post the prices? Im interested in the 100.4's

I'll be there, its only about 1 hour away from my house.. not sure if ill be competing. i need to find a 15 that can take 3kw. if so, ill run bassrace 139.9. good luck to all there, hope to meet some people

will this only be for amplifiers? what about subwoofers? i have 2 perfectly good AQ HD3 15's (not HDC3's) that i want to trade in on 2 12" Nightshades...
-
lookin good! what are you covering the doors with now? Im about to get a chit ton of those mids too :bigclap:

I fried the coils on my Crossfire BMF XT15 and cant seem to find a place to get a crossfire re-cone.... I was wondering if Fi could/would recone it. Please let me know if someone can help. Thanks, Cody

In the manual, it shows it can be bridged to drive 2 subwoofers, but i want to just bridge it to power my Phoenix Gold RSD comps... If I bridge channels 1 & 2, 3 & 4, how would I connect my RCA's if I am only using the "front" outputs on my HU. Do I need a 1 female to 2 male splitter? to drive 1 & 3 left and 2 & 4 right? im a little confused at this point... thanks in advance for any help. Cody

any news yet on how much this will cost to get re-coned?
-
Since you have the ability, I would definitely run actively. That way your mids and highs can sound exactly how you want them to. I agree, I just have to find strong enough tweeters to take ~100 watts, thats why im passive right now unti I find some. Your tweeter isn't going to see any more power by having its own channel. Crossovers split the frequency; not the power. If i have one side running off 100 watts passive (Ch 1), the tweeter itself is not getting a full 100 watts. It would be if it had its own channel If I run it active, I'll just lower the gain on the channels that the tweeters are connected to i guess

From the adjustments I see on the amp, I shouldnt need any other processing equipment should I?

ok, thats what I was thinking. Would i split the signal between them vertically on the rca's or horizontally? on the side of the amp.
