    I have a Question..

You could do two 10s ported through the center of the backseat. It would take a decent amount of fabrication but I think it would be worth it. Use grill cloth to cover the port to keep a somewhat stock look to it and deaden the trunk to get rid of the pesky trunk rattle.

    Welcome to the IHoP

No snow in Winona just yet. I'm not a meteorologist but it looks like someone crapped on La Crosse, WI. House on the shore. Nice work.

I can't believe that is MN, if it said MO I'd believe it though. I live about an hour and a half from Apple Valley. I hope the purity army doesn't try to take over Winona. WSU? It better not leach over to Lake Minnetonka either. Last thing we need out by the island is someone to tell the women to put their clothes back on. Actually, Southeast Technical in Winona. I am glad its getting warm around here because I was beginning to wonder why I left Tucson's fantastic heat to come up here. I hear Lake Minnetonka is the place to be during the summer.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Considering this you should never, ever answer a thread on this forum. wow there you go being a dick head again. beacuse your a big badass moderator you can run your mouth without getting kicked. no other merterator has ever been an arseho, this was my favoret place to be i learned so much.. transfered from smd but the past couple posts you have responded to being an ass hole for no reason. isent the IHoP for when you feel like just posting chit that you have on your mind. oh well you can boot me or whatever but there is no reason to be an arseho beacuse im not understanding something and and frustrated about it Please use some resemblance of grammar and halfway decent spelling when you are being argumentative and insulting somebody. As a forum viewer that does not normally chime in to conversations and is mostly an observer, I feel that ///M5 was purely expressing that if one cannot understand clipping then that person should not answer the questions of someone who is looking for an experienced opinion. In the year and a half I have been a member of this site, I have seen a slow degradation of maturity and effort in new posters. I am confident that all the moderators on here want to help but get rather annoyed when there is little to no effort on the poster's part. As far as the comment that started this, clipping is fairly easy to understand. Do more research and you might get a grasp on it. I may see this as a fairly basic thing to understand because I am an electronic technologist. Just my opinion.
  7. I have the Focal Polyglass 165VR3 set and I love it. However, I do wish I would have explored my options a little bit more before I made the decision to buy the set. These speakers are top of the line but as was said before you get what you pay for. I found mine used on eBay and IMO got a really sweet deal on them. I do think that there are equal if not better speakers on the market for less money. The tweeters are a little bright for my personal taste but several of my friends think they are great. I have heard really good things about the pairing of Mach5 MLI-65 and SEAS tweeters. I laid down a roll of RAAMmat sound deadener and it cleaned up my sound tremendously. IMO you should really look into options of sound deadening before you make a solid commitment to speakers. My advice to you is that you should nail down what your goals are as to what you want. Are you going to go passive or active? Do you want a 3 way component set or 2 way? What size are the factory speaker mounts? Are you willing to do some modifications to fit a different size speaker if necessary? I have changed my mind several times on what my end goal is so I know it is tough, but just ask questions around here with some good research to back it up. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on these forums and they are very willing to help.

I know I have a car audio addiction when......

This is more of an "addicted to SSA" thing. ....when your day finally feels complete because you can check the entire SSA forum without a database error. P.S. awesome work getting the site back up and running fellas. I can lurk in peace yet again.

    2000 Dodge Ram

The CW is a great sub. I am rather impressed with the products Massive Audio puts out. When I first learned about Massive a year ago, the dealer here in town (Innovative Electronic Solutions) scored a 135.3 with a Massive Audio DMX12 in a ported box at a competition. I'm kind of interested in their new lines they came out with but I have an itch for a Nightshade or an Icon. So many ideas, so little money. Thanks for the great comments guys.

    2000 Dodge Ram

I cut a piece of sheet metal to fit across the front and back round tube supports of the seat and screwed it down with some self tapping metal screws. Then screwed the amps down on top of the seat fabric. Two 12s will be awesome in that small cab. What will you be using?

    2000 Dodge Ram

That would be really sweet but I mounted the crossovers in the kicks and found out that having a parking brake down there creates a bit of an obstacle. I need to make some grills to go over the 6.5/4 combo but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. Anybody have any ideas or advice to share? Since the speakers are performing better than my expectations, I have begun to notice the weaknesses of the CW12. I borrowed todd.brust's Brahma and his ported box he had in his Lincoln to see how I like it. It is a nice sub and kicks the crap out of the Massive. I think I will build a ported box to fit in the center console area to replace the stealthbox. Maybe Todd will be nice enough to come over and lend his knowledge and craftsmanship for the weekend

    FORD CHEVY OR GMC?

I am a Chevy guy but I am driving a Dodge Ram. I decided to buy the Dodge because it has a solid axle with coil springs up front. I used to do a lot of rock crawling in Arizona so it handled the abuse very well. The 360ci engine has quite a bit of pep to it as well.

    New-ish

Hey all - I have been a member of this forum for quite a while now but this is my first actual post. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to car audio as I've only done a few simple things such as head unit, amp, and sub installs in the most basic ways. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a JVC KD-LH300 for the head unit. For sub and amp, I have a Massive Audio CW12 and a Massive Audio P1000.1 respectively. The sub is housed in a JL Audio stealth box (came with the truck when I bought it). I just deadened some key areas with RAAMmat which I will be posting pictures of that build shortly. I have been on this site mostly for inspiration in what I want to eventually achieve in my truck and have seen some excellent builds with some amazing craftsmanship. I'm toying with the idea of a fiberglass box instead of the stealth box, but I really don't know if it's a do-able project for me.
