  1. Does any one know where to get this adhesive for a reasonable price? I believe its black CA glue.. but I'm not sure.
  2. No its not thats all one big lie! SSA wants you to believe they are the same company as FI Audio but the truth is that they are the same company as polk audio..
  3. Tell me how to delete my account.
  4. If its the one Big John linked. The Diamond audio amp 450W x 1 @ 2-Ohms is going to be the most power you will be able to get out of it and you will have to wire is like this picture. And if its not the one big john linked you still will wire it the exact same way, but you will end up with 600w @1 OHM with the Diamond Audio amp. The Diamond Audio amplifier is the one you want to use and that subwoofer needs to be wired as shown in the picture reguardless if its dual 2 or dual 4. Just hope you ordered the dual 2 :-}
  5. But yes I'm done with this forum, It is filled with lots of idiots and misinformation..
  6. Almost everyone who posted on my BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM topic were vendors and people who work for SSA... All you need to do is read their profiles to see that... They are trying spread misinformation to protect their product and make it sound better then it is. I would post pictures of all profiles but that would take a while... Here are a few examples...
  7. No there is nothing I like here, this site is filled with lots of vendors and product promoters who are trying to sell their products and make them sound better then they are. armykyle1 is the only member who Imhave met so far on here who knows what he is talking about...
  8. The glue you linked is more then the price FI Audio sells it for.
  9. The glue is $30 not $10, and I can google it and did find black CA glue for much cheaper but I wasn't sure if it was the correct product. I will link it.
  10. For this im going to compare only 18" woofers.. BTL N3 the king of SPL! This is the loudest subwoofer on the market that I'm aware of.. FS 51 - This thing doesn't go low! Shitty sound quality, but hey this thing is so loud, who cares? lol Spl: 95.3dB 1W/1m super efficient 3000w RMS BTL N2 FS 34 Spl: 94.0dB 1W/1m 2000w RMS ZCON FS 32 Spl: 94.9db 1W/1m 2250w RMS MAYHEM FS 33.7 Spl: 94.8dB 1W/1m 2500w RMS Between the BTL N2, ZCON & MAYHEM..Based on the FS I would think these subs all sound about the same, they would all sound good.. they all are about the same efficiency (High Efficiency) so the important number here is the rms power. The Mayhem takes first place, The ZCON takes second place, and the BTL N3 takes 3rd place. I believe these subwoofers are currently the best woofers on the market, if I failed to mention any worthy subwoofers please list the specs. The BTL N3 isn't similar to the other 3 subwoofers so I will not give it a placement in the contest. DD9500 @ DEATH PENALTY wont even share their specs cause the new more modern subwoofers listed above blow them away??
  11. d2= Dual 2 OHM d4 = Dual 4 OHM With out that info we can't tell you how to wire the sub.
  12. We need to know if the subwoofer is d2 or d4 voice coils before we can answer that.
  13. I'm considering building a bandpass box for my BTL, has anyone here ever heard a BTL in any of these boxes I listed below? If yes, how did it sound? I currently have a box built to BTL specs but tuned to 34hz.. Most people would be impressed by how it sounded and by how loud it got; but I would like it to get louder. 4th order: rear chamber sealed. front chamber ported. Best suited to subs that work best in sealed boxes. 6th order: rear chamber ported. front chamber ported. Best suited to subs that work best in ported boxes. Dual-bass-Reflex: rear chamber ported. front chamber ported. front and rear chamber connected by a third port. Best suited to subs that work best in ported boxes.

    BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM

The BTL N3 is the loudest I know of, if you know of a louder one post the specs.. SPL@1w1m is a good estimate of how loud the subwoofer is.. Spl@1w1m already factors in cone are but doesn't factor in gains from a box and cabin gain.. Also like I was saying the FS as a rule is a good indicator of how the subwoofer willl preform. A low FS subwoofer will almost always have a lower frequency then a higher FS subwoofer.. XMAX also must be looked at SPL subwoofers generally have larger XMAX then SQ subwoofers.SPL@1w1m+RMS power will give you a good idea of how loud a subwoofer can be if installed ina proper box.

    BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM

If something is a myth, doesn't that mean it's not true.....which is what you said? T/S change with coil position and heat due to changes in Bl, Cms and Re. I don't see any reason to expect the Axis to perform substantially better in this arena....They both use overhung motors, aluminum coils and shorting rings. But the Xcon has much higher rated Xmax, actually twice as much, which means it's Bl is more than likely going to be just as much if not more linear at any level of excursion, becoming more linear compared to the Axis as we move closer to the Xmax of the Axis and much more linear as we exceed it. So I don't see any reason to expect the Xcon to experience more of a variance in Bl vs excursion than the Axis and a couple reasons to believe it would actually be more linear especially if we push to the 15mm+ excursion range. In regards to Cms, with the linear suspension design of the Axis Cms might measure more linear than the Xcon's progressive but many argue (such as Vance Dickason in the LSDC) a progressive spider is better suited for loudspeakers intended to be used in a ported enclosure than linear designs. Power compression...the Xcon has higher rated Rms power handling, again almost twice as much which would lead me to believe at any power level the Xcon is going to be experiencing less power compression and more linear Re vs Power, leading to less parameter shift vs input power. Overall, I don't see any reason to expect the Axis to perform significantly better than the Xcon in parameter shift vs input power and/or parameter shift vs coil position, and a couple reasons to expect the Xcon to actually perform better in this regard. So yet again, I fail to see any logic that supports your original statement where you guaranteed the Axis to "dig lower" than the Xcon, including your new found argument about large vs small signal performance. And yes, there is a variance in T/S unit-to-unit due to production differences. But when was the last time you purchased two of the exact same units and experienced an audible difference in performance due to production variance related differences in T/S? The point is, in any driver with reasonably good soft parts and a reasonable QC program in place, the differences are going to be inaudible. The specs you looked at are wrong. You must be looking at the specs on PE, which show the axis measured xmax by 100% method, not 70% method. Xcon 15 31mm, axis 34mm Had you looked up the proper specs, most of this could have been avoided. I never said myth. I said that enclosures don't dictate everything. http://tcsounds.com/product/drivers/axis-driver/ Everything armykyle1 has said on here is 100% correct.

I want to thank everyone for the help. I will get the FI recone.

BTL recone PSI, FI or ??

I have a 12" FI BTL with the UfO motor that needs to be reconed. Who makes the best recone kit for it, I currently only know of FI and PSI recone kits but I'm not sure what one is better. Who makes the best recone kit for it? If another company makes one that would allow me to have 3000w rms that would be perfect. Please let me know what my options are and what you recommend.

    BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM

The specs gave me that answer.... Post the specs of a subwoofer you think is louder...Okay, it's evident you don't have a fundamental understanding of T/S parameters. That's been proven. Now, even if you did, these alone can not determine a "best" driver. They can only give you an indication of the ideal enclosure and application. There's a myriad of other variables to consider, most notably, application itself. Load the "best" driver into it's "best" enclosure in the "best" application, and send it a bad signal, what do you get? Your statement is akin to saying the highest powered vehicle always wins the race. Its a lot easier to win a race with a race car then it is with a horse and buggy.... I never mentioned enclosures...why would you assume that these high end subwoofers im discussing wouldn't be installed in a properly built box thats tuned for the woofer?? I'm done posting on this topic but I will continue to read it...
