Two twelves vs single fifteen for daily groundpounder
gprestonmoto replied to lilman's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
The fact that people either don't know how, or are too lazy to calculate the area of a simple circle baffles me. Freshman math. Not college freshman math, HIGH SCHOOL MATH. -

I got a Q for you Q regarding parts on my sub, in chat

Lol it's pretty shitty right now. Tons of Steelhead waiting to be pulled in the delta of the American River. Problem is there hasn't been ANY rain whatsoever, so they can't get into the actual river because there's no water. Going up to the small town Yuba City where I grew up to try and pull some from the Feather River. Can't even lay my crawfish traps in the AR. We need rain and we need it bad. It's 70+ degrees and that's not good news for us.

new amp or just add another?

Well that sounds like a winner. -
Anyone else fish?

I could not agree more. It's a whole new world. The Diablo 3 debacle was pretty entertaining as well.

Surprised I was right.

Yea I know, they're $63 a piece which is a good deal, just trying to save a little money by possibly buying used. There were 4 of them on diyma a few days ago for $55 a piece shipped, but they sold fast.

Looking for some lightly used Exodus Anarchy 8 ohms. I have Faital Pro 6FE200's that haven't seen power to trade, or let me know your price and I'll work on selling them elsewhere. I know I can still buy them new, just trying to save some coin.

8-bit Superhero is a monster. I try and always pay for music and I sure as hell don't do it through iTunes. Go buy the physical CD of Excision's X-Rated Remixes. 8-bit bounces all over the place and really gives a nice little stress test to your subs. The transitions are very fast. If your enclosure isn't up to snuff it will make it sound like a muddled mess. If you're box is on point, like Alton said, it will blow you away. I'm a dubstep fan and fairly opinionated on the subject, but I can help everyone find good stuff. If you download music, there is a free mixtape available on the thepiratebay called Fuck Your Subwoofers. There are two of them with different dates, the one in February is far better and has a song called Psychopath, I recommend you check that one out. You too Alton. That song on the right system makes it very difficult to breathe.. Edit: Fuck Your Subwoofers is a mixtape featuring quite a few unknown artists so you don't have to feel like you're stealing things. The first track is Fytch featuring Carmen and it's a winner, made by a kid who was 15 at the time he made it. Very good compilation. Edit 2: After looking it up I'm behind already!! Looks like there is a third FYS. I will link to the one I mentioned here ( http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7042440/Fuck_Your_Subwoofers_%28Dubstep%29_%28February_2012%29_%282nd_Fix%29 ) and I'm going to start DL'ing the new one! Enjoy!~

LAY A WAY...NOW A PERMANENT PAYMENT OPTION
gprestonmoto replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
So, let me make sure I have all of this correct. Every sub you have developed already or are currently designing is nothing short of incredible, the price points are fantastic, and now you are essentially taking 4 month payment plans. Sooooo.... how's that "I'm gonna rule the subwoofer world" thing working out for you? -
I have no problem with not giving a shit about the passenger. Seems like I've got a plan. Thank you everyone for your recommendations and info. I love this forum.

Cute kid Don't run the Exodus that high. If you run a 3 way you can get something that digs WAY lower and use a VERY cheap tweeter on the top. MOunting locations will determine all options though. I would rather run a two way system. Let's say max budget is 160 for mids and 160 for highs as maximum budget. Is there a better option that Ex-Anarchy? They seem to be quite the performers. I can get the tweeters/FR's/whatever on axis, but the mid will be off axis. There's only so much I can do. What do you suggest Sean? mt locations.... Going to build fiberglass cups into the A-Pillars Going to depend on you. I hate recommending full rangers and a midbass to others. It is the right solution for me for sure, but I listen to live jazz and talk radio mostly. Both hugely benefit from the ease of voicing most of the spectra through a single driver. There are surely other negatives, but I am personally a big fan. Part of this relates to the compromise of a 2way in general. The gap and separation between a tweet and mid is brutal. Made absolutely worse for me since kicks will never work as my enormous feet just won't let that happen. A 3 way with a cheap tweeter and a robust 4" though would make me happy as well. The first portion of the spectra I would personally eliminate is the "sparkle". It is a fun exercise to play music through an adjustable filter and start to roll things up and down and see what drives you nuts and what doesn't. Depending on what that is may influence your decision and/or my recommendation.I've actually been checking out the FE85 full rangers to run instead of tweeters. Seems like they're perfect to run with the Anarchy's. Also been looking at these http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-3-fullrange/fountek-fr89ex-3-full-range-8-ohm/ Seems like these are on point. Any reason I shouldn't go with them?
