What a bunch of horse shit. I carried an AR at a young age. Uncle Sam stuck one in my hand, with some proper training, they're a very enjoyable firearm. Ammunition is cheap, they're reliable, and parts are easily obtained. DPMS makes great entry level AR-15's. Definitely take the advice given regarding lurking around the forums, tons of good information on there. A firearm is nothing but a tool in the hands of a responsible adult. What type of firearm it is makes absolutely no difference in its function. It is a tool and should be respected.

All the old guys in here will recognize the old beauties, I scored a Carver M-2060 and an M-4060. Running in perfect shape and loving every second of looking at them. Plans are a pair of DP 12's or 15's in the trunk of an 88 Cadillac Eldorado. Front stage is what I'm trying to decide on. Probably looking at Helix's 2 or 3 way Competition Series Components.

It's probably just as you were told. Hot goes cold while engine is running. I would check wiring and consider using a factory integrated CANBUS. If you give me the year, make, model, and sound system type I can usually find you the PAC part. Edit: Also try not to be an ass when you're looking for help. No wonder everyone gets jaded and annoyed. I've found Quentin's information in other threads to be EXTREMELY helpful, so he's not really the bridge I'd choose to burn.

Right now I'm looking at making a pair of Dayton Audio RS150-4 6" Reference Woofers (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-372) fit the door stock location. Should just need some baffles. Til then I'll be browsing some possible tweeters. I'd like to stick with Daytons if I can. I'm open to any suggestions, I've just used Dayton's subwoofers before and they seem to be pretty great drivers.
