KE Ported Enclosures HD Photos
gprestonmoto replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Khaotik Enclosures
Actually it is priced quite well for the material, the quality, the detail and especially who is building them. There are plenty of options for high tuned, cheaply slapped together 5/8" MDF boxes on ebay. These are a much higher quality enclosure for customers who want a superior product, lighter material, better built and longer lasting with less peaky performance. Just like our SSA sub woofers, if you want the metaphorical Kia, get an Audiopipe, but if you want the metaphorical Mercedes, get the SSA, or in this case a Khaotik. In other words, a high end American made-to-order product for customers who want some of the best on the market. I meant no offense buddy. I just can build my own enclosure for less is what I am referring too http://lmgtfy.com/?q=BUSINESS+ECONOMICS -
Winning head unit bro.

Regardless of the speech, I must agree with this 100%.

Do you think this system will sound good ?
gprestonmoto replied to [email protected]'s topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
To me, Alpine speakers are garbage EXCLUDING the Type X line. Dump the rears and spend the money on front stage. Type R's to me are the Honda Civic of the car audio world imho. They're way overpriced and they really don't keep up with a lot of good components. We installed some IA6.5's in a Dodge Ram that had R's in it. He loved it, and this is what happened. He liked them so much in the crap factory location, that he built himself nice baffles, deadened the doors, and turned himself into a DIY'er. Install is super important. If you can get that type of satisfaction for 120 bones and some work, you win. -
Pioneer head unit 75% volume

Ok haha, not to be a dick.... but what has Alpine made that's worth a shit in the last few years? The CDE line is crap, they look nice but have nothing to set them apart from a Kenwood KDC-x597, not even a 149BT has anything that really keeps up with anything. Don't get me wrong, I love old alpine, they made some awesome decks, but they seem to be following Eclipse's example, and that didn't pan out too well. -
Kyle, I really hope things go well. Small business is a tough game and everyone knows it. I applaud your humility and the balls it took to say that. People should take note. Now get it together and sell some alts! Good luck guys.

*hint hint My buddy is looking to build a center console box for an IA Lethal Injection 15. Looking at 3.5 cu ft ~50 inches of port and tuned to 32 Hz. Looking for suggestions and possible cut sheet. Going into a single cab dodge. From the back wall to as far forward as possible without losing cup holder is 48", between the seats is 14.75" and we're hoping to stay as low as possible for a custom arm-rest. Is this possible? How should he mount the sub? Trying to get as much SPL as he can for daily music listening. Driver displacement is 0.15 cu ft. I'd appreciate the help guys.

Incorrect, in 2003 Chevrolet switched to canbus system. Requires a C2R-GM24 or an OS-2C for Onstar. Older models used a standard 70-1858 -
I've got a brain unit from an AVIC-N2, dude wants to trade me a Samsung ST76, might do it, dunno wtf I'll do with the cam

lol that was rough. -
My buddy just got his IA6.5's from the SSA store, built some nice little baffles and a little murder mat. (BALLIN' ON A BUDGET LOL) and they sound about 3600x better than the ones he had in there. Cost him something like 136 bones with shipping, he's quite happy with that decision.
-
Yea what kind of crap is that? If you brought that back to my store, we'd have just swapped it out. Sometimes dealers are assholes. All we do is swap it, and send it in to get another one. Doesn't cost a dime, unless you're a POS unauthorized dealer.

Kid friendly bass????

Gritz is good. Chamillionaire doesn't swear himself but some of his "featuring" artists do. -
Are you looking to replace components? ie passive xover and tweeters? Are you trying to only replace the mids and use the passive you have? Are you replacing the passive? Running active? Did you feel that any part of the music was missing? What's your budget? Budget matters, I can recommend Helix Comp Midbasses, but unless you wanna spend 600 bones for just bare midbasses it's worthless. Give us a little more and we can go from there.

Mid bass is the hardest thing to recommend, it's a life long debate and there are hundreds of possibilities. I've been trying to decide on what I'm going to do for about 2 months so far and I'm still not ready to make a decision.
