Anyone have any personal expierence with the soundstream pca2000d. they are rated 2000 watts rms. Anyone know if its underrated or overrated? I am gonna be getting either to Fi Bl 15" or so SSA icon 15". Just wondering if this amp will be good for my project. here the specs http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=15529

well ya i probably was gonna keep it off and when i do need to use my trunk just put it back on, but the soundstream one will have to be covered cause tahts where im placing my sub box
-
Already ive had this setup in my mind for a while now. The reason for doing this is that I travel alot and sometimes might need my whole trunk. So when im about to go to travel all i would have to do is simply unhook the speaker wires from the sub and now that my amps will be safe. I know alot of people like to have there amps mounted to the back of the seats but if i need to fold my seats down or have stuff in the trunk that might damage the amps i do not want that to happen. Just wondering everyones opinion on how this setup would work. Would they be safe under there? And remain stable when going over speed bumps ect Well here is what i had in mind edit: also does it matter whether amps are mounted on a flat or slanted surface? I know that the soundstream amp is slanted a little upward. Just wanna make sure that doesnt effect its performance and in the end still looking like this

so you dont think i will have an overheating issue with them under there?
-
then ill probably just get the dual 2's run them 1500 watts at 2ohms on the soundstream then when i upgrade to the kicker run them at 2 ohms for 2500 watts
-
Well right now I am gonna get either 2 Fi BL or 2 ICONS. They will be wired to 1ohm off my soundstream pca2000d. But in the future i will be getting a zx2500.1. On the kicker site it rates it a 2500 rms at 2 ohms. Are the kicker amps one ohm stable? Cause if i get dual 1's to run off my soundstream amp at 1 ohm then when i upgrade to my kicker amp and not be able to wire them to 2 ohm then i got a problem. I was thinking though if i just got Dual 2's and just ran them off the soundstream amp at 2 ohms for 1500 watts then just be set for when i get the kicker amp. Or can will i be able to wire dual 1's to 2ohms off the kicker?

i was thinking of drilling holes on the top would that eve help though? something like this would that help with the air flow and make it cooler?

yup as stated the soundstream will be powering 2 ICON 15" at 1 ohm and the JL will be powering my components at 4 ohms a piece

Ever wonder Why Fi has ther subs names like they do?

right..... -
alright alright. Also does it matter what type of surface they are placed on? As you can tell the soundstream is on half plastic and half carpet. Also does it being at a slight angle effect it at all?

I am hearing alot to stay clear of the hilfonics amps. But if your budget is anything id go with Us amps, Sundown, or kicker
