the new fosgates
buickid replied to layedouton20s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The birthsheet tells you what *your* specific amp puts out, since it varies from amp to amp. -
Geez, why HID reverse lamps? You going off roading in that?
-
You can't/shouldn't play music with the SPL option. Get it changed before they build.
-
i kinda like that color
-
Budget? I'd go with a Sundown SAZ-3000D if I could afford it.
-
You're good to go for some serious wattage.

Not sure if its too late, but the Interceptor packages usually include things like upgraded charging systems, for the lights and radios and other police gadgets. Sometimes the engine will be of a slightly higher performance variant, and it will include "severe duty" upgrades, like oil coolers. Also, the suspension maybe equipped with severe duty shocks, leading to a stiffer ride, although after 100k+ working miles, those are probably ready to be replaced. On some Interceptors, the transmissions are programmed to shifter more aggressively then the civvy models, and some even have limited slip diffs. The spring rates and ground clearance are higher, and the exhaust system comes without resonators. This probably changed through the years. My point here, is that the Interceptors have some modifications suited for their service. There are sites dedicated to Interceptor Crown Vics, so you can read up more. -Trevor

But man, that sucks. What windows do you have tinted?

Ok, gotcha. Alright. I have 1500-1800W on tap, I will be running a Sundown 1500D at .5 ohms. I don't have a whole lot of space to work with either. If I go ported, then it will have to be a small box. Sealed is looking good at this point, but I'm not sure how much SPL I would loose. Two SSDs or Qs would work, as would one BL. So right now, I'm trying to decide what moofer(s) would fit my criteria.

Nice! Lots of carpet on the box. I'm going to go ahead and say it before someone else does, but you better probably secure your battery and your amp before you do anything else. A quick stop will turn that battery into a very large, very heavy projectile. And well, the amp probably won't like slamming into things. But other then that, nice install. Also, is it just me, or is the truck's @$$ riding a little low?

How... the heck... do you take those trophies home?!? I hope they come apart, because they're ridiculous big. -
That little cubby looks good for stashing the gear out of sight.

Happy happy birthday!

noob question: amp settings
buickid replied to bigcam112's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
What amp do you have, what settings does it have, and what kind of sub, sub enclosure, and other speakers do you have? All of the settings are there because everyone's setup is different. You need to tweak them to *your* setup, and we might be able to help if we have more information to work with. -
what size power wire
buickid replied to dropkick13's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
So what would everyone suggest grounding to in a unibody vehicle? -
Haha, nice, I knew this would be interesting.

I thought it was what it do?

Holy chit! Specs! -
Hey, welcome. Most of us like to get loud too.
-
Actually, its probably closer to 1000 watts. 4000w is Pyle's peak rating.
-
Ahh, so in your case, the fuse ratings. I couldn't figure out what the number 1201-2400 applied to. Cool. So with my 1500D, i couldn't compete in NSPL's beginner class, since they all have 100A limits, right? Not that I know of any NSPL comps around here, but just FMI. (for my information lol)

158dB... wow! Congratulations on making second place Would you mind briefly explaining how the classes work?
-
SUPERCHARGER! Nice ride though. Digital display is interesting.
-
Nope. Get a better amp, and then you'll have to worry about your electrical.
