New Build - 1995 Cadillac Eldorado
ParrishElectronics replied to ParrishElectronics's topic in Build Logs
Driver's side tweeter mount starting to take shape, doing some test fitting, think I'm going to cover it in vinyl. Got the passenger side 6.5 in, will work on the tweeter for this door next. -

Started today on the driver's side tweeter mount. Going to attempt to locate in the sail panel. Didn't get a whole lot done, too windy and cold for me. I'm ready for Spring. -

I'm not an SPL guy, however, I do appreciate what you guys do. Looks like a solid enclosure build. I have to ask though, even though you say the BL was flowing, what in the heck happened to that speaker? -
Kenwood KDC X996 Gets super hot quick
ParrishElectronics replied to fred57's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There are head units that can run hot, but it does seem to be a little odd for it to run THAT hot. Do you have a multi-meter? I would double check the factory speakers and make sure they are not less than 4 ohms. Probably not, but just to be sure. I would then check speaker wires to ground to make sure there isn't a short. Of course, do this with power OFF. Factory speakers and factory wiring can be funny sometimes. -

A little more work completed. Passenger side door ready for the 6.5 and made up some cables to replace the factory grounds. I've installed them in the car, just don't have any pictures yet. Will get them up soon. -

No, I haven't. Didn't even know it existed. Does it come in a dash kit or something? -

Thank you. Yes, I'm planning to run 3 Blues Iso-Kits, two 8 in. and one 10 in. I already have the drivers, just need to put them together. That is, unless I change my mind between now and time to install. -
