Dont plan on dropping below 1 ohm on the amp..... A friend of mine has one and has popped it twice when dropping below 1 ohm both times. As long as he keeps it at 1 ohm, the amp is great. He's running it on 2 Pierce Audio Products 15" WMD(Weapons of MAss Destruction) subwoofers. Pounds them. Should push the DP's nicely as long as u keep the amp 1 ohm or higher. Hope this helps.

I'm going to feed it 3000 watts RMS......that should be enough to move it....

Probably not long, lol... It's ok....if this MTX 9500 takes a crap, a Mach 5 SPL 12" will be in its place, bet on that. As for pics/vid's , I'm going to a competition this weekend looking for a 147 at least, will get a bunch while I'm there. Think 147 is feasible with this setup in a trunk car? The sub is facing forward like my old RE SX 15". Anyone have any experience with this sub?
-
Thanks for the pics Brian. I know it's a bit messy install but me an Brian thew it together the night before...Heard good things about the 9500 MTX's and I saw one sitting in my bro's shop, so I said, it's mine, give it too me... You going to the March 16th show Brian..the one in Grapevine? I'll be there....we also gotta get together before then and strap these amps together... Hoping for about a 148 or so...think it could be done or what do you think it would produce?

Got it pretty cheap...Couldn't pass it up. MTX 9500 12" This thing is pretty beefy for a 12". I'm taking it to competition today @ 2.5 ohms on about 750 watts from my Sundown 1500D. I'ma see what I can do with it wired this way....Hope it works I'm not too much into MTX products but this thing got pretty damn loud at 2.5 ohm last night, wonder what it will do at say.... .5 ohm..

Back from the competiton.... On the 1st run at 1/2 gain 1/2 bass boost, 2.5 ohm's..... I did a 141.1 On the 2nd run at a tad above 1/2 gain , 1/2 bass boost..... I did a 141.4 On my final run, I tuned the gain to about 3/4 , bass boost at 1/2....I did a 142.1 Sorry no pics, Lord Baccus will have them though. With this thing wired at 2.5 ohm, and only seeing about 750 watts from the SAZ 1500D , I'd say its very respectable. I'm impressed so far, to say the very least. Next week at the next competition I plan on taking my 2nd SAZ 1500D and strapping them together on this 9500 12" and giving it around 3500 RMS for a 4 second burp in a 36 Hz tuned box.... It's gonna be absolute mayhem for 1 12" subwoofer..and to boot I'll be in 0-600 amateur trunk class.. Anyone think it would take it/ not take it? I'd like a few opinions

load boss alternators....?
WildSebring replied to brent338's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Had a Load Boss 180Amp alt on my old Silverado, and it had a sheet that showed full output was 193 Amps at 1800RPM's... Loved it, still have it being unused currently sitting in my garage.. for a 99-02 Silverado 4.3L v-6. Went with X-Cessive Amperage on the Sebring since Load Boss didnt offer anything for my Sebring, but I'm going back to Load Boss for my Blazer. I did the full run of ground on my Sebring...good thing to do if you haven't , helps a bit. Awesome Alt's for an awesome price from Load Boss, and best thing is , they are located right in my back yard...... thumbs up to them. -
Ask Lord Baccus(Brian) on this forum about the SS XXX. He has a 15" XXX in I believe it is a 6 cubic foot enclosure ported to 42Hz. It was loud enough on two Sundown 1500D's to make the doors try and come off the hinges....I could just imagine what it's gonna do when he upgrades to two Sundown 3000D's.. And the low end....Omg could this sub put out some serious low end...

Come on up here to DaLLaS sometime, I'd like to see your setup and hear it, sounds like you have a beast. go to www.texasbassproductions.com , me and Brian go to a lot of their shows...run by a guy named Curtis. Hope ta see ya sometime.

Anyone have any expierence with this subwoofer? I've got the T4's but I got this for a temporary setup. Single 12" MOJO on a Sundown 1500d at 1/4 gain and 0/4 bass boost. Played it bout half volume for about 20 minutes and then it started to have a small tapping noise, like a I blew a tinsel lead and it's slapping against the cone. I have yet to inspect it, out of the box, but I will do that later today. Anyone maybe remotely have an idea? I wasn't pushing it but 1/4 gain, lol... It sounds pretty good for a single 12". So far I'm not impressed though, with the tapping noise, but I am impressed with the loudness of it. It gets loud with almost no gain, and no bass boost. I hooked a meter up to it, and the #'s aren't running . I have it @ 1 ohm and it's stable. So I'm not sure.

Sorry its been a while since I could mess with it, work has kept me busy and all.. I did figure out the problem, and yes it is the newer version of the Mojo. Brian(Lord Baccus) suggested I shorten the wires connecting the voice coils, since maybe the wires were slapping against the basket assembly. Sure enough, I shortened them about 3/8" on each end and the slapping noise is gone. Shoulda made it like that in the first place, but I'm a retard so it's good.... Have it in a nice pro-box, 2 cubic feet, at 36Hz. Could use a better enclosure, but its temporary.. I did start the LPF at around 80Hz and adjusted it up to 100Hz, but I have it back at 80Hz since that's where it sounds best to my ear. Haven't had a chance to meter it yet. Still only using on the Sundown 1500D at 1/4 gain, 0/4 bass boost and +5 on the headunit and it is a really loud sub for the power I'm putting to it and for the way I have the system set up. Thanks for the input guys, it was appreciated.

Street Beat - 4 15's tuned to 36Hz, peaking at 46Hz 154 dB capable at .6ohms Competitions - 2 15's tuned to 55Hz, peaking at 65Hz 155-156 dB capable at .6ohms Gonna be crazy... What subs were you using in the box?
-
Saw it a few weeks ago after eating dinner......needless to say, it all came up soon after starting the video...
-
Heard that's a mean sub, I wanna see some pics/vids.

An extra battery is well worth it, even if you get the alternator. I used to own a PPI DCX 1000.1 amplifier and a single 12" Soundstream SPLX, and with that setup, I needed 2 extra gel cells with a LOAD BOSS 180 amp alternator to feed it what it wanted properly. I know it seems your pouring all your money into electrical, but it is very very very much worth it. I then had a single 15" RE SX on a single SAZ 1500d and the lights dimmed so bad, it was flat out rediculous. I added two small X-Static Batcaps ($100a piece) and the improvement was so great, even on the stock alternator of 95 amps. The lights didnt dim at all, and the sub was twice as loud. Playing music, my lowest recorded voltage on the meter was 13.82v. If you don't add one now, do it soon in the future, you will be so glad you did. Just my .02 cents

Well I got dibbs on the Soundstream XXX if thats the case... Yea, I gotta figure something out for those boxes, I know MaRiA's probably not liking that they are still there, lol...... We got the car back today actually, and you couldn't squeeze a single thing in there right now. It's like a cramped apartment with 10 people living in it, absolutely no space. I'll figure out something though, I promise. I got to.... You over that sickness Brian, feel any better? Hope you feel better soon. I'll be up at the shop this weekend to get another MOJO 12, right now I'm listening to a Polk MOMO 10" single 4-ohm sub on a Alphasonik 300 watt amp, and to be honest....for what it is. it isn't too bad. But it's not a MOJO or a T4 either, lol.... I'll call you soon and we can figure out what to do with the boxes. Geoff

Few toy's I've been messing with these past few weeks. Poor little MOJO , all alone... R.I.P MOJO Feb 9th 2008 , and replacement is on the way. How it stacks up...Holds it own nicely between the big brothers. Uno, Dos, Tres, Cuatro, Cinco.......my my my..I've been busy.. Crappy photos, but thats what you get when your digital caml breaks and you use a cell phone camera , lol....... Got a 04-05 RE XXX 15" on the way as well....will have pics of it, soon as it arrives.
-
Their ok...... XXX will be nice but I don't know if it will meter well, but we'll see. I couldn't pass up the $250 price tag with it being only used for a few days. I'm gonna build a streetbeat box tuned to the Fs of it, and see what it will do. Those T4 15's should do about a 155 or so in a 36 Hz box I have planned to use in my SUV. The MOJO I suspect will be about a 144-145... Not to shabby in a 34 Hz box in the back of my Sebring. A trunk car no less. Jus some fun side projects I'm messing with.....sorry for the sub par pictures.... I promise I'll get a digital camera that works...soon.......

Nice work Brian, love the Snake Skin effect. Looks awesome.. Sorry I couldn't make the show...how was it? Lot of people? What kinda numbers did you put up with that XXX ? Sorry I couldn't come up to the shop on Thursday either, I was headin outta town. I wanna wrap my 2 1500 SAZ's , got anything cool looking in mind? I wanna make this install one of the best as far as cosmetically, but I want it to pound like hell too. I was thinking along the lines of a picture of the vehicle or do you have something that would look wicked cool in mind? Talk to ya later, I gotta get to bed for work tomorrow, Later. Geoff

You mentioned you were trying to sell the old gear. I'm interested in the RE XXX 04/05 if you still have it, how much if you do? Like John said, try to get a price for a Sundown SAE 1000 and a sub for a package deal, might find a better price.

Welcome to SSA! What year Regal is that? I had a 97 Regal GS Supercharged here not too long ago, sold it. Also own a 1986 Buick Grand National that is having a motor rebuilt due to throwing a rod through the side of the block. You'll like it here, lot of knowledgable people here that will share information. Welcome.

New version of the old amp
WildSebring replied to Lord Baccus's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yea, I found that PPi 300.4 for $40 brand new out of Flower Mound/Lewisville area. So, since Brian liked it and would use it more then, me I gave it to him for the price of Free, cause he's like the brother i never had...literally.. Glad ya like it man. -
I don't trust ebay to save my life. I wanna deal with someone I know. But to each his own. Out of the other choices put up, I'd say the Fi SSD is a great choice.
