the thing I love about the nightshades is that they sound louder than what they are I can't wait to start cranking up the gains a bit...Gonna get loud....for sure... And yes Jacob....this sub is F'en awesome...I've got it in 32Hz.... and it gets nasty on the lows....I'm thinking of building a box tuned in the mid 20's.....think it would do ok in a 25Hz enclosure? Or would it be too far below the Fs and hurt the sub ?

I definitely love this woofer....I'm in love with the amps already....bullet proof and they are sexy looking... For all my settings at 0, this damn thing blows away my past set-ups.... and I've had several... But none of my previous installs had Nightshades........ ....Sundown's all I'll ever run period......and Jake, I need to still get a SD Audio T-shirt from you man, I saw ya'll in the vid with em...I wan't one.. As soon as I can afford a 100.4, I'll be giving you another call....I really want one. BTW....this sub's awesome....I feel sorry for my sunroof...you would too if you seen the movement thats going through...
-
Damnit Jacob....your gonna force me to get one of those.... Oh, nice woofer too.. lool... I want one of those frickin woofers though!! Monster!!
-
Yes, I love it already....Sounds amazing....and gets low....
-
Yea, I want another one. LOL... I'ma hammer on it a little bit tomorrow and make a short video...

Thanks Mark...I'm hoping for a nice number from this 18" in a 60Hz box with both 3ks strapped too it... But this is mainly a street set-up for insane music...no high numbers from this box.. 7 cubes, tuned to 32Hz, angles 45'd, resined inside with 2 coats and 100 sq inches of port...4" wide port.. Sub up, port up...should be pretty loud @ 0.5 ohm daily... Thanks to Jake here....Your THE man!! Should be a nice daily beater..
-
Of course... Took the stupid JBL's out again since I'm still waiting patiently on my 18" and had a fun time today.....Did a 147.3 last weekend with them @ 2 ohm...decided to resin the box and drop it to 0.5ohm to see what she'd do....Heres the results.. Went to a show out in Frisco Texas with the car...took 1st place in my class and High SPL of the show....a ton of SQ cars there...A few guys were doing 149.2's and 148.9's.....I ousted them...with Sundown Power... 1 SAZ 3000D 2 12" JBL's Power Series in the back seat.. 3 DEKA 9A31's Gain - 0 Bass Boost - 0 A few pics... The set-up... The Score... The ownage.... 1st place and high SPL...

I'll do my very best....I should haVe the woofer by Tuesday, and I'll post some pictures...It's going to be absolutely massive... I don't know if I'll be able to make the show in Frisco as I've got a few plans, but I'll try and be there to at least make a run and say hello to everyone. If I can't...I'll figure something out.. I know I can't go to the show on Sunday in Fort Worth... and then the next weekend is Longview, and I'm not driving 150 miles again like I did to Paris... ...and after Longview its back here in Mesquite, so I may make the Mesquite show.... The box is fiberglassed, and ready for the Nightshade.. Appreciate it Jim... Jeff

Yes sir..and now that I think about it.....the guy that did a 149.2 was Ryan with a Sundown 1500 @ 0.5ohm on a 21" Autotek... Very nice set-up Jim...simply beautiful.. I should be out next weekend with the 18" hopefully.....but I"m not looking for high numbers...just an extremely loud ground pounder.. I might strap both 3K's to it just to see what she'd do.. Thanks guys..

Pic's are in order...

2 1500d's strapped at a .5 ohm load for burps only
WildSebring replied to Bdunn23's topic in Sundown Audio
I ran a pair of 1500D's strapped....on a Quad 1 ohm...Soundstream SPL-X...wired sub to 1...each amp seeing 0.5 ohm before impedance rise...and I ran it daily...yes it does void warranty....yes you shouldn't do it...but do the amps handle it? Yes... -
Went to our local TBP event here in Fort Worth(other side of world for me)....100 mile round trip... Threw in 1 of my Sundown Audio 3000D's with all 3 DEKA 9A31's and 2 12" JBL Power Series subwoofers in a 34Hz box with a final impedance of 2 ohm at the amplfier...Decided I wanted to burp them....so I pulled up in the lanes....and burped a 147.0 and a 147.3 which was barely enough to scrape out 1st place....2nd place did a 147.1... I was pretty happy for what I was running and how I had it set-up, it did higher than I predicted.... I'm going to fiberglass this enclosure, and cut the port to about 45Hz, and burp me a 150+.... It's going to be something to see.. One of my friends finally broke the barrier of 150dB...With 2 Soundstream 15" T4's, and 1 Soundstream PCA 2000D did a 150.0dB at 1 ohm....Very impressive...been a long time coming on him, and he took first in his class.....He's wanting to run Sundown amps Jake...Everytime he sees me, he justraves about them.. Fun night for what I used, but now the wall goes in .....muahahah...pictures to come soon..... Oh and Jacob....Looks like I may be able to order a 2nd 18" from you.....I'll let you know 100% on Monday or Tuesday at the latest... Fun times....I can not wait for this wall build...

OH yes.......money shot right there...

Need a little help please!!
WildSebring posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Allright guys, I was working on the car last night, and re-doing my grounds and re-running everything neatly...and what not...and put everything together nicely. I got done, and now my amplifiers stay on constantly even when I kill the car. And my headunit will not turn on. I did pull the H/U but I checked everything behind it, and nothings loose or broken. If I un-plug the Remote wire from the amps, they turn off.....seems like they are getting power from a hot source, but the H/U will not come on. I didn't let anything touch in the trunk, or anything...no fuses have blown...no loose connections anywhere. I'm stumped .....never ran into this problem before....has any one else? I'm stumped... -
Got the amp racks made with Andrew. Wrapped in carpet till we ran out.. All wires ran, tucked away, with a battery tray in the wheel well to hold my batteries. 2 SAZ 3000D's 2 18" Nightshades(custom) 3 DEKA Intimidators 1 Maxx-Link 1 Wall tuned to 65Hz Gonna live soon, wall will be installed this week, so more picstures to come. More pictures soon, how's it look so far? I'm doing my best on this install....I want it to be just straight out god awful annoyingly loud..but I want it to be a very clean install as well.
-
I'm trying bro...but at the moment I'm broke. I just got done buying a bunch of chit for the car and paying bills. A $70 entry fee, just to get in is kinda ridiculous to me...but you never know...we might show up.
-
Well..as me and Andrew have figured it up...to get in and hotel, and gas and chit...before we even step foot in...we've spent well over $300-400 dollars...so we're probably not going to go. I cant afford a $70 entry fee... We're probably gonna go to Texarkana...they're having some chit out there.. We might..we'll see..

A maxx-link is just going to help me gain match the amplifiers since they aren't going to be strapped. That way, all settings are exactly the same even with them being run separately. It also eliminates the need for a line-driver...as it cleans up the signal and boosts it. Jake said he could build them to take any amount of power...we chatted about them for a while...and here we are.. 2 18's on the way.. Me and Andrew are going to Heat Wave Jon...I'd like to see your setup if you going to go. My car wont be ready but his truck is..it's a green 98' Chevy Silverado 1500. 3 18" DC Audio LVL 5's and 3 SAZ 3000D's with 6 kinetik batteries in a wall...It's straight insane..... I should have some pics tonight or tomorrow..
-
Nah, I decided on this set-up I did not want to strap the amplifiers...so I went ahead and bought a Maxx-Link to gain match the amps. I'm hoping this set-up gives me what I want..a system that will scare the living fu** out of people...kinda like Andrew2944r's truck..my teammate here in Dallas..lol.. Yea, Brian ended up cutting his losses and moving to Baton Rouge, La....I miss him like mad too man..he brought me into the car audio world..and lived 5 minutes from me. Good guy thats definitely missed by all of us TBP members and especially to me. Was the best friend I could ever ask for. The custom 18's Jake is doing for me, are going to be Dual 1's...have a longer coil..extra thick tinsel leads, Quad spiders....the whole 9 yards.. I plan on running each one at 2 ohm to break em' in a little bit..then after they've loosened up a little....Here comes 0.5 ohm per amp.. Jakes building them to take the abuse I'm going to put them through. I thank him for making such a great product with awesome customer service. I should have the wall in this week, and I'll post up some pics...
-
I'm sure he could have.......he got fired from his job due to his boss being a jacka** and hiring a few people at minimum wagfe and letting him go to maximize profits.. I don't know anyone else personally that can do it anymore...I'll just take them to an imaging place when I wanna change them.
-
I'll have some pics here in the next day or so...It's complete..I just gotta find time to get it installed...
-
I'm hooked on Sundown. They are flatout awesome and Jakes customer service is through the roof A++. I had a pair of the SAZ 1500D's on a Quad 1 ohm Soundtsream SPLX 12" and it did a 151.3. Now I'm running 2 SAZ 3000D's with 2 18" Nightshades(custom) in a wall....it's all being put together right now...so look for pictures soon... I'll never use anything other than Sundown again...
-
Thanks, the artwork was done by Lord Baccus(Brian). He used to work at an imaging shop that did all that so we decided to make it look unique.

Gonna have a removable port, 34Hz for daily....65Hz for SPL. Little over 4 cubes per box, all corners 45'd and box resined on inside as well as all-threaded for bracing as well as 350 Square inches of total port. Everyone here local seems to think that mid to upper 150's are attainable in the right conditions... We're gonna see...I'm mainly building it for an extremely loud daily ground pounder though....
