Trying to get a sub recone, but can't reach anyone by email
slim2fattycake replied to ls1pimp's topic in General Fi
I have dealt with scott a long time ago and it was great but i don't know whats wrong now. Do they still have their pms closed? and do they still not have a phone number to call? -
keeping noobs screwing up. if you don't know what your doing then dont give too much power over rated spec.

yup, sent to nick, sales, scott, and recone, and just sent to [email protected] too but i doubt that is a recent email.

Are 2 1000 Watt amps enough for 4 15" BTL's
slim2fattycake replied to jondoe82's topic in General Fi
just try 1 first and see. don't go wasting money on a lot and not know. -
nick won't return my emails either. They must be pretty busy.

I forsee this not working. lol. how about getting less batteries with better rating to save space? and with 6 of those batteries, that alternator is going to die a quick death.

Ground wire length
slim2fattycake replied to ADK's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
theres metal everywhere. just ground it near the amp. problem solved. lol. -
are you talking about the MJ-18M? Great customer service and great product. I own an mj-18m myself. it would sound great with your plans. go get it.

i feel like this has been asked. but answer these questions... running same power to each option? same size box and tuning? same type of sub. check. then it would be up to surface area.

1/0 gauge wiring.
slim2fattycake replied to ADK's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if your amp is pushing 1000 and less than sure 4 gauge would be fine but if you're planning on upgrading then go ahead and do 0 gauge so that you don't have to buy new wires again. I had to do that. but luckily my girlfriend needed the 4 gauge had wasn't needing anymore. -
get pics up. im a picture whore i say this to everyone.
-
sure. i thought you were going to get 2000 watts for 1 sub.
-
same power, similar enclosure size and tuning? cone area wins?
-
It had 4 pairs of components inside, 16 tens in the bed, 4 bass amps, 10 highs amps, and 48 (yea forty-eight) 6.5 inch marine grade coaxials under it. I started it on september 1st and loaded it in the car hauler on the 11th to go to NOPI. pics of the whole vehicle now. lol.
-
okay? what are you going for? you're giving them subs about the same power so 3 12s are going to be louder than 1 15. also the 12s are tuned higher so your general rap is going to sound louder.
-
with your plans and upgrade, i'd go with the BLs.

i had a single 12" ssd sealed in 1 cubic ft. and it sounds great. plays movie fine, not great, but fine. and for music it sounds very good. but if you do still want to go with the prefabbed box because of time constrains then you could add some wood to brace the inside of the box but also to take some of the usable volume out. however, i don't think .2 cubes is that much and you probably have less than that if you didn't count the sub's volume. running the ssd on 500 watts is fine if you're into SQ. I had 600 watts on the SSD in my home theater. but if you were still going to keep that amp, i see on this thread that a lot are saying your amp is putting out around 1000 watts. http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/394040.html i don't know how true that is but if it is then thats 1000 watts at 14.4 volts and so you're probably seeing around 800 watts. just in the alley of the SSD.

yea, free bp option for the Q, go get it.

if you're good with building boxes you can do that box for cheaper man. also you would have greater satisfaction when you build something with your own hands. also you could build it to your own liking and not have to just go with it.

simple and clean.

i want to face the subs into the backseat. i say backseat because i will have my backseats up almost always so yea. the face of the box with the subs on it will be at a diagonal so that i can have the box as close towards the backseat as possible to save room in the trunk and have more volume in the box. this is what i want to do but I don't know which direction to face the port and if this would be smart to have no or very little wave cancellation. i will probably have a sheet of mdf up to separate the subs from the rear of the trunk. should i face the subs toward the backseat? any input?
