WOW! Those boxes look awesome. Nice work on them. What kinda wood is that?
-
sound better or sound louder? You can always increase the size of the box with lower power. And telling us that your friend has a JL 13w7 doesn't help much. Getting good numbers on the mic results from install and testing.

enclosure specs?
-
Damnit, those are awesome prices. I wished I didn't just buy a 10" iXL for the girlfriend. She would have loved these.
-
Damn. Look at that ass! How much does it weigh?
-
By "mis-aligned" you mean the coil is rubbing on it due to some type of shift in the cone, or did the spider/surround become detached at one point to where as the cone shifted?
-
thanks.

can you post or pm the T/S parameters of the older 10" IXL 2.2 dual 2 ohms?

2- SSD 18's in 6.6cu.ft. before displacement???

sounding louder cone area would matter, sounding better, cone area does not matter. tell him to sell off 1 18 or get new subs. -

Sell them and get 15s or 12s. Fi doesn't even have box sizes for the 18 SSDs. You're friend didn't think very much on this. It was a dumb move. Why does it matter if the judges can see the hydraulics or not for his "show" factor? -

Okay, first off, with those max measurements, the gross volume is about 8 cubes if its a rectangular box. Next with that port displacement, you will have about 7.5 cubes net without sub displacement and bracing displacement. However, the 18" ssd needs 6 cubes minimum for each 18" sub. Thats not enough space. Go with 2 15" SSDs the biggest or 2 12" SSDs for optimal. I hope you didn't tell him to go with the 18"s and I hope he didn't get them yet. -
If it boils down to you saying you can get a DD for 400 then that means your budget leads everything else. Go with what you want. Are we really going to sway to that much? However, denim is right. Think about recone costs too.

First hand experience with Fi, I will give them +rep anywhere Fi is mentioned. Also, I agree that theoretically more cone area with the same set-up will get you louder. Now, I don't know much about the 9515 but the BLs should be able to handle everything the 3500 throws at them in the recommended enclosures.

what do you listen to because you cant really hear anything under 20hz.

don't forget a high output alternator in the equation.

Its the super gauss design. what the hell? so are you selling this baby? I got dibs...

Audiopipe AQX3500.1... anybody test them yet?
slim2fattycake replied to gearstix's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
where can you get the 3500 for under 400 dollars? the RD presale right now is barely over 400 but after that I bet it goes up to 600 dollars. i got the 3000 for 300 even but it can be found on ebay for 325 shipped. There is no way you can find a 3500 for about the same price. -
whats "SQL"? ///M5, get his ass. lol

What do you think of a 18" Nightshade for the hometheater?

reading may help. I am keeping my MJ-18M where it is. -
What do you think of a 18" Nightshade for the hometheater?
slim2fattycake posted a topic in Home Audio
Right now I have an MJ18-M in 11 cubes net tuned to 20hz with about 650 watts. I was wondering if I would get more output with an 18" Nightshade at the low end in the same enclosure? I listen to music about 15% and watch movies and play games 85%. I have a behringer EP1500 watt amp. Is it worth switching or not? I can get a trade for the nightshade is why I am asking. WinSD shows about the same spl. -

I am keeping the MJ-18M. ///M5 can you tell me how it is that we need to use WinSD? I am confused as to why I get almost about the same spl output with the NS and MJ-18M in the same box even though I changed the input power to 1500 watts. -

Well would it be worth it to switch from the Mj-18M to the NS? I wouldn't want to be stuck with another driver that I cannot use for anything else if it cannot be used for the home theater. I am leaning with tirefryr.
