    Need somebody's else help?

I thought the Mkii were SQ subs because of xBL^2 tech. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Really, I'd get dual 1 ohms so you can wire down to 1 ohm later when you want to upgrade to more power. With dual 1s on each sub, you can wire them to 4 ohms right now with that amp. Its cheaper and easier to get amps that do full power at 1 ohm then at 2 ohms. How they behave with that 700 watts will depend on your box. I've had as much as 300 watts on an SSD to 1500 watts on one. What's your goal for this system?
  3. Just a suggestion, check for belt dust on your alt pulley. I had to really tighten mine down because I had problems when I first installed it as well. Have you talked to Rob or Kyle yet? They may be able to pinpoint it for ya.

Do you know which coil configuration to get to wire the subs at 4 ohm or 2 ohm on that amp? For just that amp, even with one SSD, you can stay with the copper coils. It will be fine. Are you getting two or one SSD?

    BTL on two 4500D?

Use what you got with the new amount of amps you wanna use and then see what the voltage drop is. THEN add a battery until you feel the voltage drop isn't a problem anymore. I think Rob over at DC Power said recently that an extra group 31 battery and a xp270 alt can handle the SD 4500 with ease. I think Kyle had a 4500 in his car.

    Rude!!

X2 Stop crying guys and like one of the rules say "your gonna get answers your post that you may or may not want to hear" so get some thicker skin. Who can actually tell how someone is coming off in an internet conversation and if you can then obviously you arent looking at the content in the message. Your too busy about someone hurting your feelings to actually see how much they really helped you with useful information. Screw all you guys, what the hell do you know. Hell, maybe everyone likes putting fish sticks in and around their mouth. Kanye 2012! Tirefryr, I'm really happy for ya and I'ma let you finish but M5 is the biggest dick on SSA. -Kanye

    2 SA-8's and an Audiopipe AP-1000D

it really depends on how you listen to your system and the music. my girlfriend destroyed her stock alt by listening to constant bass at high volumes in traffic jams (idle). I say get a deka 9a31 to be safe at most. I can get them rebadged for 100+shipping if you're interested.

    Atomic AP/SPL 15 box build

Built this for a Atomic AP/SPL. Sub is getting built with FI parts. Sub parts should be here tuesday and box is ready. This is going to be powered with an audiopipe 1500d and is going in a 2010 honda accord sedan. About 3.3 cubes tuned to 35hz with a single 6" aeroport. I'll be adding some polyfill to see how much better it would sound for the owner. Maybe about 3 lbs worth.

    2 SA-8's and an Audiopipe AP-1000D

You won't notice a difference between the audiopipe and the sundown, trust me. And for 160, you could get the audiopipe ap15001d for more headroom.

    BTL on two 4500D?

Sorry, but I bet OP won't see 500 amps of current pull from a 4500 amps. Plus, who goes around blasting constantly at full tilt? The DC Power alt is beast. My 270xp with an extra group 31 deka didn't break a sweat even after hours of testing on 3k at idle. I never had to rev the engine to charge the battery. That 4500 does around 5k at 1 ohm, probably. You guys are being too cautious. Its a waste of money. Hell, I started out with two deka group 31s in the trunk with my 270XP alt but then after testing and such, I sold one because I didn't need it at all. Like Tejcurrent said, manufacturers state things like power rating and such the way they do for a higher safety factor on their products so they don't have low failure margins.
